Thankful that you did this. Ever since my fiance passed away I've been learning on the fly. This showed perfectly how to get at the sensor without a lot of extra work.

Thanks - there are VERY few 2010 2.4L Sonata-specific repair videos out there; much appreciated.

Thanks to your video I changed my CPS on 2010 Santa Fe 2.4L. Very similar but the center bolt on your exhaust manifold shield is an oxygen sensor on the Santa Fe. I did not remove the oxy sensor but instead enlarged the hole on the shield with a screwdriver and fit the shield over the sensor and out of the way. After that you lay on top of the valve cover and do everything with a drop light and a mirror. Take the connectors out of the mounts before undoing the metal retaining clip. I made a tracing of the clip on paper . Good thing because until I figured out to take the connectors out of the mounts, I lost that clip. I made one using the tracing and electrical taped over the CPS connector. Thanks - fantastic help from your video.

It would have been nice to have actually shown replacing it but this is the best video out there since like you said, there's nothing out there on the 2009s-2010s. My car suffers from the classic news paper shop syndrome and my mechanic says it's either this or the timing chain. I think over the summer I'm going to replace this sensor and see what happens.

Hi there, can you tell me what the exact symptoms were that led you to replace the crankshaft position sensor?
My 2010 Sonata starts up fine, but then dies when shifted into reverse or drive. I am able to rev up the motor, then drop it into gear to go, but idling under load kills it.
Does this sound the same as your problem? Thanks

Yeah, turns out the transmission was totally fried. Check the trans fluid dipstick. Is it dark like chocolate syrup? If yes that's a $3,000 repair.

any idea how similar this would be for a Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0 Turbo? 2010, I'm having a hell of a time trying to find it even though I have a good idea of where to start

I ended up switching a camshaft and a crankshaft position sensor on my 2013 tuscon still would not want to start.
I had both codes on cam and crank changed both without a mirror it was a bitch to take out.
I hope its just a timing-chain slipping issue which is common to Hyundai's.
