If I get you correctly. Shortcut for equation editor is Alt+=. Then you can type anything you want including non math.
@@pickupbrain I mean, the shortcut of the "text" button in conversion group in the equation tab.

It should work I don't know that is the problem. However, instead of Alt + =, you can go to Insert Tab and click Equation to get equation editor.

You can use lim\below(n
ightarrow\infty)[sp]sin(n)/n[sp].
[sp] stands for space bar.
