getting the tackle box out and giving this one ago, as been meaning to tie these up but never got round to it! thanks for the vid :) tight lines. chris
It's a great rig to have in your tackle box, excellent for congers, cod, bass, all the elasmobranchs. Good luck in the give away! Tight Lines!! Fishing Brothers
I hadn't actually heard of Carl and Alex fishing until now, and after seeing a few of their videos Im definitely taking that as a complement. I think it might be some time before we get that standard but you have to start somewhere!! Appreciate it! Tight Lines!! Fishing Brothers
Awesome videos lads. Couldn't give me examples of when you'd use different rigs could you? Complete novice! Nice one lads, all the way from (not so) sunny barry haha.
Hi MoshHead616, If your just getting started the two rigs you need in your arsenal are the pulley rig and a two or three hook rig such as the loop rig (we have videos of how to make both of these rigs). Old school boom rigs are great two hook rigs too but they are messy to cast. The pulley rig will be your big fish rig usually, so rays, cod, bass congers and smoothies and things. Very simple to make. The point of the pulley is that when you have a fish on it, the weight gets lifted above the fish preventing it snagging up, so people say its a rough ground rig, but bare in mind if there isn't a fish on the end, it doesn't get lifted. Clips down nice and tidy for great casting distance. You can use pulleys with small hooks for smaller species or if things are getting tough. Great all around rig though and you can use this for 90 percent of your fishing. The loop rig (or any multi hook rig) is usually used for scratching match style or when your targeting species with smaller mouth such as sole, flounder dab and the like. Usually used with worm baits. Loop rigs or cascade rigs (we have a video on this too) clip down and are great for distance for times when the fish are at distance for example plaice at chesil. I hope this helps mate. Tight lines!! Fishing Brothers

I caught a decent small eye Ray off this rig down porthcawl last night boys thanks for the video I was the only one catching lol
Awesome news. Great rig for rays especially on clean ground. Can get a bit problematic over rocks and seaweed though.

What is the purpose of the hook freely moving on the rig body if it's just going to sit on the bottom?
The hook length is clipped up for casting.and on impact, slides down the rig body to fish hard on the bottom below the lead.
Keep it going so helpful
Glad we could help! Great rigs for cod, rays, bass, smoothies, you name it! Good Luck!
