Many thanks for this video, just made my first pully dropper rigs to try out on Saturday. I learned the hard way that there are two types of Gemini Genie Bent clips. The rig clip and the link clip. The RIG clip is the one I needed here. Oh well, didn't take long to get the right thing :-). Hopefully there are some hungry fish out that will like this rig. Next up, the Portsmouth Loop Rig.
That's awesome! Glad the video helped and you got some made, when yo catch on them you'll have to let us know😁 The Portsmouth loop is a good one too!! Tight lines!
Between you, The Eastbourne Fisherman & CJ, I have enough rigs made or to make to cover most beach sea fishing scenarios, to cover sandy, shingle and rough ground conditions and made up for every species from a - z. This is not a complaint. Of the two only times I've been sea fishing, I have taken with me approximately 70 different rigs, because you never know whats going to work or so I've been told. The most rigs used in a day has been three. Touch wood so far have only lost one rig due to my grip lead not holding bottom and ending up attached to a groyne. So a mental note to take 6 oz grip leads (the highest recommended for my rods) and call it quits if they don't hold bottom. As an ex coarse fisherman, although I have shock leaders on all my reels, I think hook lengths are unnecessarily heavy though I have changed most of my rigs from 8 lb to 15 lb Amnesia. (If I hooked anything bigger than that I fear a brown stain would appear in my pants). Anyway thanks for posting and hopefully you will be actually fishing in a couple of weeks time. Stay well.
I take it this is a hint to say you would like something other than a rig tutorial😂😂😂 Thanks for your continued support David it is truly appreciated! I I post a video and don't see a comment from, I know I've not done my job😅 All jokes aside.. When I go out I take 4 rigs (maybe some extras as well in case one gets snagged) 3 hook pompey, 2 hook pompey, pulley and up and over. Have you tried a rotten bottom? When you get snagged, it breaks away and all you use is the lead😜
Not at all fed up with rigs. Its good you make them up and there is more than just me to satisfy. For myself, I struggle on knowing which braid or line is a good line and the differences in fluorocarbon lines, I know amnesia makes the best snoods but main lines not a clue. I have on two penn reels, the line supplied that causes wind knots, as the reels are fairly expensive I want to replace the line with a decent brand. On shock leader line mine is very curly even after stretching it. Surely there is a top quality line for this purpose. I also think hooks is a problem for absolute beginners like me. The only decent brand Iv'e purchased are Cox & Rawle. There are a lot of things out there that I have no knowledge of and therefore avoid. Just received the free magazine from Glasgow Angling and it lists lots of items Iv'e not heard of. On ordering the items you get no or little instruction for how to use them. I'm not suggesting you do it, but it would be great for beginners if there was a series on these kind of things to help the real novice angler make the right choices. For rods and reels I would always encourage them to buy from a tackle shop. I hope the above makes sense and you can see where I'm coming from. @@Anglingaddict75
Makes a lot of sense!! We've all been there and I'm no expert but I try and share what knowledge I do have. It can get confusing there is no doubt. Feel free to message me on Facebook if I can help with anything, I'd be able to explain better there.
The ones in this video are from Gemini. These are the ones I use mainly! There are others that are really good as well, trident tackle and breakaway have a really good product and they are just that... Pulley beads😁 hope that helps!
If you can't get the beads, you can also use a mainline swivel in the same fashion? That works just as well. The beads are just a glorified version of that to be fair!
@@Anglingaddict75 yeah thats what im using now for my pully rigs. i find, not always, that i get line twist with swivel. But i guess not enough to scratch the idea
Are you using beads on either side of your swivel? Tie another swivel on you hook length side, it will make the line stand out from the mainline, or try apiece of silicon tubing throu the eye of your pulley swivel. 😁
Happy to drop by and show some support. Great channel. Keep crushing it 💪🏻
