Great video, I've never really liked the yeti mic but it sounds pretty good here
so after the research in this video I'm going to go with the yeti x man I just love the design thank you for helping with my choice!
Techne with the win! After watching videos and still being unsure im going with the wave 3 !! And yes I have watched your super detailed steel series arctic pro wireless video and still loving them till this day. Thank you!!!!
Really thinking I'm going to go with the HyperX, since I like to have my microphone in my shot when I stream. and it does look fantastic. Might be a little tricky with settings to get the quality as good as the elgato. but I think it's worth it.
The Elgato has the massive advantage on the software side if you want to stream, otherwise it doesn’t really matter
The Wave is best if you're looking to stream just because of Elgato's software, but I personally like the Yeti more.
Would you recommend the At2020 USB+? if not what should I get for a mic around this price range?
Have the blue Yeti x great sound love the design and breaths quality 🙏
I have a 13 year old yeti, she’s tired and ready for rest XD I like how you sounded through the new yeti, very clear and I did hear that broadcaster sparkle
You should do the budget ones!
I went with the QuadCast S & my friends have noticed I sounded crispier
Techne, are you gonna review the new ducky line up? Apparently, it’s been improved compared the the 2 series
what do you think of RTX voice and Krisp, do you think AI software can “equalize” mics so their quality doesnt matter as much?
Toss up for me, blue yeti and elgato but I was looking for your pinned comment and didn’t see it. I’m leaning toward the blue yeti myself after hearing it here. I want the more radio sound with nice lows but still good highs. I really want a comparable mic to the one in my valve index vr headset… I’ve been using that one to record videos and it sounds amazing. It’s comparable to the blue yeti in my book.
honestly I would go with the yeti x just cause how simple it is to use out the box, with the wave 3 (just bought yesterday) I had some trouble setting up the software and it also wasn't going well with my wireless headset
the quadcast is also plug and play
I currently have a snowball from blue and I’m thinking of upgrading to the wave 3
I personally own the blue yeti nano and it does ok but have to mess with voicemeeter banana to get the lows I want. If the wave 3 have been available I would have bought that.
Perfect timing. I have been looking at getting the Wave3. I think I will end up going with that as it is smaller so pushing it out of the way it takes up less room.
I just wish it and the accessories werent so expensive. Iirc the shock mount and pop filter are like 20-40 each and the mic itself is 140ish. Especially since it doesn't have the same build as the yeti which is cheaper.
Also, off subject, I like the overlays you did with the logos. A cool addition.
Also elgato’s software has the best software for streaming
@Futura lmao. You probably say the same thing about cars that aren't F1.
You have 0 idea about what you are talking about in this situation.
@Futura "A real microphone costs 1000s and 1000s of dollars."
"You could buy excellent pro devices for similar prices"
Which is it?
Obviously most are the same few $10 parts. It is the software, hardware, and tuning that makes it the consumer product worth $80, $100, $150+.
You are mentioning something that is similar priced but "pro" but you mention nothing by name and give no evidence for any of your claims.
@Futura Ok. So what are examples of these pro mics you talk about?
So I have the dt990 pros, soundblaster g6. Last thing I need is a mic. How would a pair a mic such as the elgato or the hyper x to the g6?
Love my blue yeti x! New software update ads the option for Nvidia voice straight through the mic software. And it works fantasticly! Blocks out unwanted background noise very well. And blocks most of keyboard noise as well. Still gets me slammimg my desk in anger tho lol! Great mic for sure!
did you pick the blueyeti
@@scoobith1575 yes i have the blue yeti in the video. Have had for about 2 years now. Zero issues! And works perfectly to this day. If you have other logitech peripherals than its perfect as itll use the same software. I have a g pro x superlight mouse. Logitech c922x webcam. Logitech keylight, and the blue yeti x all running on the same software.
@@SenpaisNotJustaCutie how's your yeti now?
@@harakiriiscenes Still working wonderfully! i use it all the time when i am playing games and people always ask if im a streamer or something because my mic quality is really good. havent run into any issues other than the original USB-C cable that came with it was pretty bad and became real dodgy when plugged into the mic. kind of like when you have a messed up phone charger and it has to be at the right position to get it to charge. but simply replacing the cable with another USB-C cable that i already had since most things are becoming USB-C. zero issues since!
Can you share the link for the mic stand you used for the elgato?
Hey must I use a shock mount for the Elgato microphone on that stand?
You can buy a foam pop filter cover for the Yeti. I have the Yeti and a Hyper X I like both mics
so i have a mic issue with my hyperer X quad cast , when i say something loud, it would cut the sound fully, been copying peoples ideal settings but it still cuts the sound
I game on a laptop the Lenovo Legion 5, good for warzone . I think I'm considering the Hyperx Quadcast. Alright price very simple and a built in anti shock. I'm still looking for a microphone. any recommendations?
I own the same laptop! it’s awesome :) and I’ll be buying the hyperx quadcast s.
I think going with the hyperx quadcast s is a great option considering the raw mic quality is really good and you get rgb as well, and you can eq it in Voice meeter and make it sound better.
5:20 Dog what do you think the floating bungee cord ring is for
I just bought the elgato wave 3 last week and love it. I also bought the shock mount and screen and also got the wave arm. The arm i think is highly underrated. Its such a great arm. I almost got the Hyper X because i would love to have it red to match my setup, but i just wanted to go all Elgato. Awesome review as always!!! Thanks
sweet, I'm still sticking with the wave as well
@@TheTechne so as an update.....The quadcast was on sale for black friday, so i returned the elgato and the shock mount and pop filter. I ended up saving so much since the hyperx was only $89 new for black friday. I couldnt pass up that deal. And it goes more with my red theme PC. Otherwise id still have the elgato i think.
@@dj.excess which one sounded better?
@@woro. Funny, i theen returned it also and got the S version for multiple color RGB. To be honest i think they sounded the same. What elgato has going is their software if u plan to use it for diff configs. I just use it basic for talking to friends online in games like discord. So id say go with the cheapest, or whatever pleases you aesthetically
@@dj.excess does the hyperx's stereo mode work on discord? do people hear you from the left and right?
I have a Samson G Track pro, its REALLY good and If you havent, I suggest trying it out. Ty :D
This was a fantastic review! Thanks for sharing the review.
thank you for watching
The Blue Yeti X sounds awesome
Great vid, any opinions on the audio technica 2035?
I love AT mics
@@TheTechne I look forward to trying an XLR mic out
Hey Techne, awesome video. But, with the Siren do you really need the boom arm or can you used the stand. What's the Difference between the Blue Yeti X and regular Blue Yeti?
The difference is that they're not trash
I'm glad I saw my mic on the thumbnail.
Can get renewed wave 3 from Amazon for 109 not much cheaper then new but if u really want it to be the cheapest there u go
I just want to know if I need something to connect the microphones to a pc/laptop, like an audio mixer, or I can connect it straight?
They're usb so you can straight connect.
Video idea: Best Mics for Trolling and Bad Quality. Other hand these Mics sound crispy
Hey techne, links for the elgato mic stand?
my bad, Links just updated
If ur gamer that wants a good mic i recommend to spend no less than 50 bucks eg seiren mini solocast and snowball ice best 3 cheap mics for gaming not streaming
which one would pick up the least amount of background noise? my pc is loud and lots of noise around me. just want it to pick up my voice
same im looking for that to
hyperx quadcast and blue yeti x have blow sound when talking too close to the mic. elgato and razer sound nice.
I checked out of this video when you said you were a plug and play guy. I think a lot of us are but getting the most out of something by simply downloading a software is super simple.
very true, but If a product is great right out of the box, then potential to tweak is limitless.
blue yeti sounds the best in my opinion. You sound more natural.
Highly recommend the samson gtrack pro, would love to know your thoughts on it.
hi. When are you reviewing the new steelseries arctis 7 p+ 2021
next week ;)
Can u tell me which gaming microphone is best for eliminate mechanical keyboards clicks ? And micrphone which can be at least 1 metre away from user and it can still hear my voice ?
I use the elgato wave 3 in that type of environment and it works great
@@TheTechne thank you :)
The v2 pro sounds pretty good now
What do you mean?
@@SharrodVisuals In his original review he used the mic wrong, and the gain was really bad. In this video he faced the top of the mic towards his mouth, and adjusted the gain with the mics controls. It sounds way better now.
You should do the same thing but with budget mics
I have the Quadcast and absolutely love it
Same
I bought a blue yeti a couple days ago anyone recommend any good setting for the microphone?
Yea. I typically sit 8-12 inches away from the Yeti X with a Samson -PSO4 pop filter and I switch between 3 & 4 gain levels. Just test them out. Sound is AWESOME… I don’t even use the Blue Sherpa/Voice software 👍
@@Holt333 bet thank you have a blessed rest of your day 🤙🏽
Techne can you do a comparison between the glorious model o wired and the Razer viper ultimate
I thought I did a while ago
@@TheTechne yeah you did . But you did it with model o - . I want the normal model o. That is if that's ok with you
It's ok if you don't though .
@@TheTechne I am new to this channel so I didn't know you had done that .
I’m stuck between the yeti and the elgato. I stream and I play games competitively so what one do I go for for streaming and gaming ? Anyone wanna help me out
Sennheiser Profile is the best budget mic. I just got one and love it.
I have the Yeti but I am considering to get the Elgato.
Me too👍🏼I have the Yeti (which I LOVE) and buying the Wave 3 TONIGHT! Both sound so good but are sooo different aesthetically. I don’t even use the software… I just have a fascination with the Elgato and have to do a comparison lol 👍
@Drgo why?
can you try fifine k690
Nice.
The Elgato mic is just too good to consider any other mic
It’s so good
Can this mic work in PS4?
@@juanramoncevallos2603 Yes
How?
It’s not as well built as the Yeti X and has less full & natural sound out of the box. It’s also more expensive. The only department it has a small advantage is software with good presets.
Hyper X sounds the best!!
condenser mics are not good for the vast majority of people who stream unless you have a quiet space with good acoustics
Try the fifine k678
Blue yeti comes with a hefty pricetag but they're made cheap. They're built to break and break easily.
why would you even break your microphone? what are you even going to do to it that'll make it break? fuck it so hard it shatters over time or just smash it? cause if you're smashing your own PC setup, you shouldn't be playing video games my guy it's as simple as that
Can i connect this on playstation with a audeze penrose??
I'd imagine you could so long as you select the Elgato as the input device.
I stream with just a normal Blue Yeti. I really like it. I was debating between that and the Quadcast. Ended up getting the yeti because it was on sale for $100. However, I do think the Wave 3 is the best looking. Looks kind of retro to me and I like that. As far as Razer goes, I don't think I'd ever buy a Razer product that isn't a headset. I have the leviathan soundbar which sounds great, but it started going wrong like, a couple months after getting it. And I was gonna get a ripsaw HD but I read online that they can be kind of a hassle to get to work right. But another solid video by The Techne. Good job man. Always like seeing what you are reviewing
Lol I’m the opposite I would buy anything from Razer but not their headset cause it’s trash
@@shiion6711 Lol. That's fair. They're definitely not for everyone. If it means anything, i recently traded the Blacksharks in and got the Corsair Virtuoso XT instead. Definitely enjoying them
You should start reviewing cpus and motherboards .right now intel is shooting high to the sky with their 12 gen
processors. JS gumba!
I expected more from the Razer Siren V2 Pro...
HyperX solocast or Razer Seiren mini which one is better pls?
YB better
L life
ratio bozo
as for price to value siren mini is really good. . .you can tweak some things in software and EQ which will make it even more good
In terms of mic sound I think it's Yeti X > Wave 3 > Quadcast > Siren V2 Pro. The Yeti is very crisp and full bodied, there's nothing about it that sounds digital or fake. I'd put the Wave / Quadcast in the same league, with the Wave having clearer mids and highs but the Quadcast having a bid more warmth. The Siren just sound pretty mediocre and also speaking into the top sucks.
Can this mic work in PS4/5 o Xbox? Elgato I mean.
Hyper X has new mics duocast and procast
steelseries needs make streaming microphone
weird that they haven't
Blue yeti X is the best sounding mic of the lineup. I’ve had mine for a while and I don’t have a reason to switch at all.
such a solid mic!
@@TheTechne it has such a nice base clarity on its own. The Blue App takes it even further by the numerous ways to customize your sound as well. Also, the presets are nice too.
you're biased, the elgato sounds the best
the yetti sounds better to me very crisp
I have the elgato mic, it sounds nothing like any of the videos I have watched. It sounds very loud and has a huge echo. One of the worst mics I have used
Shure sm7b top tier
Bruh it says 4 mics for gaming and it says 4 months ago xD
Razer should stick with making gaming mics instead
Yeti sounds nicer to my ear
I actually think the blue yeti sounded the best:)
I love the yeti, but the wave is just mmmmm
@@TheTechne I can agree on That. Really Cool microphone😁
My yeti broke. My usb port broke.
yuhhh🔥💯
Perfect timing. There is a moderate chance I'll be fired from my job due to vaccine mandates and I thought maybe I'd get myself some equipment and try youtube if that happens.
I always thought the hyper x qoudcast was one of the ugliest microphones ever😅 it looks more like a toy then a professional microphone, but most RUclipsrs like the look so it's probably me🤣😂
Sadly best budget mic is fifine mics. No need for these kinda videos lol.
First
Who?
get an actual mic, that isnt purpose built for gaming, like an xm8500
No
just use your child's college fund and get a Shure SM7B.
lol
Isn't that what techne has plugged into his camera? He sounds so much better during his regular videos than using any of these.
@@kittykittygumdrops the sm7b is leagues above these microphones. They’re used in professional podcasts & pretty much all the top streamers use it. It’s even used in music recording, from Prince to Bruno mars, it’s tried and true since like the 70s/80s
@@kittykittygumdrops ok a few things wrong with your comments. . .i dont think anyone uses SM7B with mics. . . SM7B is a dynamic microphone so you have to keep it very close to your mouth. . .the audio in this video is raw and unedited thats why it sounds slightly low, otherwise the elgato software can even make a cheap mic sound like a decent one
so you make us watch a long ass video and promise a comment to be pinned that doesn't exist. So basically you have no conclusion and this was entirely a waste of time
USB mics are for amateurs and children. For the love, STOP recommending them.
People don’t have money
