I wish people would stop comparing the sylvers to the jacksons. both of them being a family unit and them doing soul/pop music should be where the comparisons ends. especially with one or two listens to the sylvers' first three lps. they were on another level.
@@bigtimemad For sure, but that was also later during the Sylvers' pop period. I still find it inane why they got those comparisons during those first three lps.
Oh My Gosh!! I Remember This Song At The Age of10 Or 11 Years Old!! I Never Knew It Was A ( Sylver Classic Song ) Besides ( Boogie Fever & Hot Line 🔥 🔥 ) Leon Sylver Are A Genius 🎶 🎶. Edmund & Ricky Sylvers Are A Great 👍 As Well..
They still look like their self today 2017. They still performing their old hits. Little foster All grown up still performing Misdemeanor. Rip to Edmund Sylvers, Mama Sylvers ,Father Sylvers and younger brother Christopher sylvers who never perform.😍☺😀
What a beautiful and talented family. Their harmonies are outstanding, their choreography was in SYNC. This is an absolutely amazing record. Leon was a songwriter beyond his years. Much love to Olympia, Ricky, James & Charmaine. Continue to rest in peace, Edmund. #SylversFan
Getting my Sylvers fix on with my 2nd favorite song by them. They have such beautiful harmonies. They had the look, the steps, the songs and the afros (smile).
Yes,they had such great dance moves; saw them twice here in Wash.,DC; first at the Warner Theater in73 I think and then again at Constitution Hall in 74 and each time they were too smooth on stage; they turned it out. Sylvers fan for life!
I was six years old when this song came out.....there was NO Way I'd could have ever dated the Sylvers....I didn't hear their music until the late 70's.
Yes, totally agree; was and still am crazy about the Sylvers; I asked my Mom how come we couldn't move to California; I wanted to be close to where they were; my Mom looked at me like I was crazy; oh well; at least I got to see them live in concert.
Yes, same here; I remember begging my Mom to buy me an issue of Right On Magazine that had Edmund's and Ricky's pictures in. I cut them out and put them on my bedroom wall; miss those days!
I just noticed, they used some of these dance moves for their "American Bandstand" appearance, singing "Falling for Your Love". Man, you know you're a bad group when you can use your old moves and they STILL come off as fresh when you use them again later.
I agree with you there, all these family groups we're incredible, they all had such great harmony, chemistry, style and substance. It's just too bad no family on any groups today exist like these fantastic groups.
Whoever owns the master recordings to The Sylvers Pride/MGM recordings needs to get them remastered and reissued. Ray Parker Jr & Debarge had their back catalogue re-released on the back of their UnSung episodes. It's their time.
OMG! Ricky sounds like foster and Edmund, Jermaine Jackson. Angie, Pat & Foster aren't even in the group yet...regardless of the lineup THE SYLVERS definitely make the top FIVE FAMILY GROUPS....The Osmonds, Jacksons, Debarge....MOST DEF!....and they didn't keep a lot of mess or scandal.....good clean kids!
Leon looks like a superhero drawing. He really does look like how we used to draw black superheros back then, even though there weren't any. The hero was thin but had a muscular build. You might or might not see his chest. and you had to make a big circle thing for the head. First, you would draw the letter u in lowercase. Then swing the pencil up from the right end, over like a rainbow back to the left end. No wonder I think he is so handsome. He looks like my child fantasy Black superhero in real life. hahaha.
Foster Sylver was my first boy crush I remember when the group came up to my junior high school and we got a chance to see them up close he was so fine.
In my years as a teenager this was the song that I would always play over the phone when my girlfriend at the time was upset with me about something. Give it a few days of separation & no communication. Once in one another's prescence, " I'm Sorry!" "Please never mind what they say, never mind what they do. I love you!" LaLa T'Challa Delfonics Forever
I love this song & makes me melt when I hear Edmund & Ricky. LOVE IT!! The Jackson 5 just got more opportunities, they are just as good if not better, they surely are just as talented & so much more handsome. WOW!! I wish that I could talk to you Ricky, so that I could let you know. LOL!!
This is the absolute jam, one of my faves by the Sylvers. The 3 best kid groups i ever heard was the J5, Sylvers & New Edition, hands down. This is just a beautiful groove that kinda has a haunting sound to it. Leon kinda sounds like Jermaine Jackson in this song. I've got to find a way to get the Sylvers first 3 studio albums. To me this sound of the Sylvers is much better than the disco era sound of Boogie Fever & Hot Line, this music has more heart and soul to it, more thought provoking.
Delfra70 hit it right on the head - Leon does sound like Jermaine and I never knew he lead a song because I've only seen Edmund and Foster lead songs. This is nice. Groups NEED to take notes; master class is being taught right here, with a quiz to follow to see if you were paying attention.
Hair, hair, and more hair! I was only 11 years old when this song came out. I had the biggest crush on Ricky. All the girls were lovely, but Olympia was so beautiful. Very talented and gorgeous family!
Need to bring this type of vibe back in 2021 without gimmick
Takes me back in time when I was kid! Love the Sylvers and Jackson Five my idols!!
Leon Sylvers III, definitely one of the most underrated songwriter/producer. Ever.
I agree.
EVER!!!!
Not to mention, one hell of a bassist!
Yup!
AND....he sounded good!!
OUTSTANDING !!!!
This is a great song. Still better than what's out now.
I wish people would stop comparing the sylvers to the jacksons. both of them being a family unit and them doing soul/pop music should be where the comparisons ends. especially with one or two listens to the sylvers' first three lps. they were on another level.
They're a very different family group but some of the sylvers music was produced by the lead producer of the Jackson 5 so it sounded similar
@@bigtimemad For sure, but that was also later during the Sylvers' pop period. I still find it inane why they got those comparisons during those first three lps.
They were good anyway even if some people tried to compare them.
This song is so beautiful!!!
"Forever Yours", is one their best songs, hands down!
I agree, but this comes in second
Maaan that song touches the soul totally agree ❤️🔥
This song, forever yours, and p.s. (unwritten letter)
Beautiful song!! Those afro's are the most!!
I love this song. The slyvers were no joke
This song is dream like.
The Sylvers - was the lightskin answer to the Jacksons
i wish that I could go back to the 70's and never let it go!
The musicianship, arrangement, and vocals on this is second to none. This is awesome!!
preciousbash THATS WHAT WE HAD BACK THEN MY FRIEND 😁
preciousbash AWW YOU LIKED MY COMMENT HEY JUST FOR THAT IM GOING TO BLAST MY SYLVERS ON MY ANDROID PLAYLIST THANKS HONEY 🥰🥰
Smooth harmonies, class, soul, rhythm. Why can't we get music like this today?
this song is haunting. the background vocals are sooo layered and tight.

My favorite song of the Sylvers hands down!
sylverstblack
Yes, same here, this song has always been my favorite; such a talented family; i'm still mad that they did not get true props from the music industry.

GOD DAM IT LOOKS LIKE THEY LOVED EACHOTHER and JUST HAD FUN PERFORMING and SINGING!!!👍
I could listen to this song for hours!!
I never even heard of this song...wow!

The original Sylvers had a special Harmony within the family. Very mature songwriting and again, Harmony I miss the Sylvers
Their voices are just like their GORGEOUS, BEAUTIFUL AFROS......PHENOMENAL...harmonies that are just genius...GOD'S GIFT!
Absolute musical and visual perfection. My favorite!
Leon SYLVERS IS AWESOME SONG WRITER VERY UNDERRATED FOR REAL.

Love you Edmund, my crush. RIP

The absolute BEST afros to be found anywhere on the planet. Unmatched even to this day....
Love this song, haven't heard it Iong time heard this sat. Can't get tone out of my head, keep rewinding video . Love peace n soul family
Their great early material didn't get AirPlay. Their pop songs, Boogie fever, and Hot line were heard on the radio over and over again.
To me their earlier material was superior to songs like "Boogie Fever" and "Hot Line", they just were not the hits those songs we're.
In New York City, it did get air play.
+Annette lacen Absolutely, they also got a lot of play in the South, but the average so called music lover couldn't name 5 songs by them; it's a shame
cbjrcher1 i can and they are. not even my era but I love them
cbjrcher1 Their pre- Boogie Fever material is nice, that's what led me to listening to most of their discography.
They still look like their self today 2017. They still performing their old hits. Little foster All grown up still performing Misdemeanor. Rip to Edmund Sylvers, Mama Sylvers ,Father Sylvers and younger brother Christopher sylvers who never perform.😍☺😀

Absolute perfection in music and visual appeal from '72. My favorite of this group.
Smooth real Smooth
Ricky was killin it back then.
Damn!!
Oh yeah, Ricky with that big afro and sexy eyes; and Edmund with that killer smile and voice!
I'm so happy those first three albums are FINALLY CD. It's about time.
Wha!!!what a beautiful family, this is the first time I am hearing Ricky singing a solo.
Getting my Sylvers fix on with my 2nd favorite song by them. They have such beautiful harmonies. They had the look, the steps, the songs and the afros (smile).

It's such a super nice song.
Omg I was 14 when this came out. Edmund & Ricky so handsome!!!
Yes, same here; I remember begging my Mom to buy me an issue of Right On Magazine that had Edmund's and Ricky's pictures in. I cut them out and put them on my bedroom wall; miss those days!

You didn't see the expo on them? And what happened to Olympia? Very Very sad
Such lush harmonies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My grandson's 11 years old and wants his hair to grown like this
Leon looks like a superhero drawing. He really does look like how we used to draw black superheros back then, even though there weren't any. The hero was thin but had a muscular build. Funny U should say that because he collected comics books.I never checked out his books to see who he was into.
Foster Sylver was my first boy crush I remember when the group came up to my junior high school and we got a chance to see them up close he was so fine.
Lennie.........those days may be gone, but passing the music along to my kids; Sylvers fan forever!

No De barge lol
I think this arrangement in particular is what probably inspired Leave the door open
Great song by the Sylvers, always thought Edmund was the smoothest one,but it might be Leon.
I would have passed out right on the dance floor 😸😸🤣😂
Now this is True Old School!
Don Cornelius had one of the greatest voices.
They moves were on point! 💋
leon and u all were jewels
OLYMPIA SYLVERS MY HEART BEATS EVERY TIME I LOOK AT YOU BABY!!😍
Delfra70 hit it right on the head - Leon does sound like Jermaine and I never knew he lead a song because I've only seen Edmund and Foster lead songs. This is nice. Groups NEED to take notes; master class is being taught right here, with a quiz to follow to see if you were paying attention.
