I have no idea how this guy was so largely overlooked by the public and record companies who could have promoted him more. What more do they want, He's a great singer, writer, musician, and live performer!! WHAT TALENT
I think it was because he wasn't willing to live on the road and tour much. He didn't like it so he wasn't quite as popular. He did have two top ten hits though back in the 90s. He's also a producer, co-written many songs, managed bands through the years, wrote tv and movie soundtracks, etc. He's doing just fine. I have 3 of his albums and they are all some of my favorites to this day.
Jude was ahead of his time. Fantastic song writer and artist. I hear his sound in today's artists like John Mayer (of course Lifehouse). Anyone who is a Cole fan just wanted everyone else to hear him because his music simply deserves to be heard by everyone.
Never been one to like my "favorite" song played unplugged, but Jude nailed this one. It's brilliant and he is, too. Oh where have all the great guys like Jude gone? Miss not hearing him on the radio in the 21st century. Truly a fantastic artist. Love this man.
Amazing talent! Loved Jude Cole's songs when they were on the radio in the early 1990's! He's a native of the Quad Cities of Iowa, where my parents used to own the historic Coliseum Ballroom.
Great singer!!!! You can tell a singer is good when they sound good live! I have all his CD"s and still listen to them. I sure wish he would put out something new!!!
been a fan of Jude Cole since his first album. he's from a small town outside of chicago. own his first 3 recordings and they all have quality tunes. I believe he does all his own guitar work and more on his recorded studio stuff. check out "comes around" and "open road" off his start the car CD.
I just discovered him... and this song although when the local radio station played it i just knew it somehow. What talented artist. My bro in law had The Records album that he did with them and i never listened to it back then... well nAow i realize. Straight onto the guitar to learn this and a lot of others.
Thanks for posting this! I get a craving for a Jude Cole tune ever so often. Really, really miss this talented artist. I was very fortunate to have caught one of his live performances in 1991 at Backstage in Overland Park, KS. A very small venue, there couldn’t have been more than 200 people in the crowd and we were no more than 10” from the stage. What an experience and still one of my favorite live shows.
Jude Cole was in a band called The Records on Virgin Records. They were from London, England and Jude was the only American in the band. They released about 3 albums. The two main singers were John Wicks and Jude. Both of them are now part of the Los Angeles music scene. I wouldn't be surprised if Jude and John have done or will do a reunion tour with The Records, as they have a cult following with fans of power pop and punk music.
My aunt was doing a favor for an actor friend back in the late 90s and he was working with Lisa and my aunt met her briefly and told me she was a total phony. But I love Cole's music,he's the best.
I also thought it was amusing when the nobody on the left said something like, "I did the same thing with my play." And the other host had a look on his face like, "Pleeease...."
my guitar did not come with those chords. Shit-fire, that's one of the best song performances I've ever seen. Wrote it? Check Played it? Check Sang it? Check Live? Yup
It's hard to understand sometimes those who "make it" and those who don't. Jude definitely has those star-studded chops. Always thought Jon Waite could be his blood brother.
Debra Bryant is my wife-she talked to keifer on the phone the night that keifer and me-barney cousins played played on stage at Theodore-he is using my guitar-you can watch this on u-tube-its called keifer surprise visit at Theodore's on Springfield mass.- o bought him a drink from across the bar and had the take it to him-and told her to say it was from Barney cousins-he came straight over to me then I got called on stage to sing stairway to heaven-then he played my guitar and sang knocking on heavens door-played bass-afterwards he talked to my wife on the phone-she was home in texas
Jude Cole is such a gifted performer, and Baby It's Tonight is a true all-time 80s classic (yeah i know it came out in 1990, but that's just a technicality). I'd be honored if some fans of 80s ballads would come by my channel and take a listen to my acoustic piano & vocal performances of AGAINST ALL ODDS by Phil Collins, IS THIS LOVE by Whitesnake, and PURPLE RAIN by Prince in tribute to the great decade. Live acoustic with no digital editing. Thanks and rock on.
Hey Jude tell keifer Sutherland that Barney cousins has a song for him-barney bought him a drink at Theodore on Springfield mass. 2016-then after Barney sang stairway to heaven-keifer borrowed his guitar-and keifer and Barney cousins got on stage together-tell him I have a song for him-respond-with a phone number
sorry I said phone-number-dont send that-give me your e-mail or g-mail-if possible-barney cousins-tell keifer Barney cousins has a song for him-titled east of eden!!!
As a fellow Midwesterner, I’ve been a big fan of Jude’s music for decades. He is so talented and underrated!

He was amazing in concert and has been under promoted and overlooked and it's a shame, he is very talented.
I also saw him in concert at a dive bar in Texas. Outstanding
@@averageguy1203 Tell us more -- year?
It's March 2022 I found him in 1992.. I'm 63 I ain't stopping 💚
Me the same. But it’s upsetting at what now passes as talent.

Yes! I think it helps that he didn't slow it down like a lot of unplugged stuff. He played it like he probably would if the band was there.
Jude definitely deserved more credit than what he got . I've always been a big fan .
Still one of my favorite artists even these many years later
The best singing. Baby It's Tonight with one acoustic is very cool. I love it
Amazing talent! Loved Jude Cole's songs when they were on the radio in the early 1990's! He's a native of the Quad Cities of Iowa, where my parents used to own the historic Coliseum Ballroom.
Jude should do an Unplugged album. I've seen a couple of these acoustic versions here in yt and they've all been outstanding performances.
One of the best acoustic versions of an awesome song!!!👏👏👏 And very easy on the eyes 😍
What a voice; what a song!!
Great singer!!!! You can tell a singer is good when they sound good live! I have all his CD"s and still listen to them. I sure wish he would put out something new!!!
The BEST ACOUSTIC MUSIC I'VE EVER HEARD! Damn near a 40 year fan and never saw this!
What a voice!! WOW!!
The guys is the man too bad he's been overlooked over the years. True Talent...The real deal!!
it's so good that it makes you mad that there are so many untalented people at the top of the charts.
that's what you call talent, u don't talk bout it, u just do it!
I bought his first three albums and they were all great. He can really sing and write!
great song! Love Jude!

Jude sounds great live! Awesome
This is pure gold.

Thank you for so many years - Max Respect, to you ~
Need more of this quality of talented performers, not no-talent rap crap.
This is fantastic!!
HOLY COW! Actress Lisa Edelstein... Jude is amazing, and such a nice guy!
Incredible. Incredible voice, incredible songwriter. Incredible performance. Wow.
Wow!! So good
Excellent ;-) Haven't heard this in such a long time;-)
He truly IS this song, it comes out of every pore of his body.
Jude Cole is from my hometown, Carbon Cliff Illinois

That was great!!
Before he got famous he used to be in a band called Silver Highway
Phenomenal Album!!!!!!! It got my attention for Jude's talent! Bought every album since.
2023 and still sounding amazing
Jude, You always be my favourite mate. *Cheers (Y) (Y)
My aunt was doing a favor for an actor friend back in the late 90s and he was working with Lisa and my aunt met her briefly and told me she was a total phony. But I love Cole's music,he's the best.
Damn he's good
Great singer love you
Do you have the other song from this same program? I believe he preformed "House Full of Reasons". It's my favorite by him. That's for posting this.
Often compared to Bryan Adams and got buried, but he is way better!
I also thought it was amusing when the nobody on the left said something like, "I did the same thing with my play." And the other host had a look on his face like, "Pleeease...."
@@Grouchomx dude maybe you should look up who she actually is before you call her a nobody... i'll leave it at that.
AWESOMELY DONE!
So fucking awesome!
my guitar did not come with those chords. Shit-fire, that's one of the best song performances I've ever seen.
Wrote it? Check
Played it? Check
Sang it? Check
Live? Yup
This guy is really a great writer, composer singer and all around artist. In my view record companies really dropped the ball on this one.
I've got a poster he autographed for me at one of his shows
I am guessing that the person that gave this a thumbs down is a big Justin Beiber fan
BAAHAHAHAHAAH! Good one.. (and probably true)
It's hard to understand sometimes those who "make it" and those who don't. Jude definitely has those star-studded chops. Always thought Jon Waite could be his blood brother.
Now THATS how its done!
Awesome
Right On!
Sooo good! And that face... hhhhhhhhh 3:)
Thats the "risotto girl", George Costanzas girlfriend. On a side note, great song Jude.
perfect
are you kidding me? Lisa Edelstein of future House M.D. fame?? I had no idea she was old enough to be in show business in the late 80s...

“I did the same thing with my play last year.” What a pretentious b.
