The charges for an attempt to get him into US custody so that the CIA could illegally fly him to Guantanamo. And they really incompetent supreme Court ruled that somehow once a person is on a US military base overseas the US quarts no longer have jurisdiction. They made that up out of the blue overturning centuries of precedent

5 years in Belmarsh Prison, plus 7 years in Ecuadorian British Embassy.
That is 12 years incarceration total.
That is because he published,as a journalist, an inconvenient truth exposing war crimes by the American government.
Today we celebrate justice of freedom for an innocent man.
He didn't tell the whole truth. He coordinated the release of documents to hurt political opponents. That's when he stopped being a journalist and turned into a two-bit crook. In hacker parlance, he's just a script kiddie.
