  • Plano Fire-Rescue firefighter EMT Michael Tartaro is no stranger to responding to cardiac emergencies, but he never thought he'd experience a heart attack himself.
Less than 45 minutes after his symptoms were identified, Medical City Plano health experts had reopened a deadly blockage in Michael's left anterior descending artery, also known as the widow maker artery. The national benchmark to treat a heart attack is 90 minutes upon ER arrival.
Thanks to the extensive training, fast actions and close collaboration between his team at Fire Station 8 and the teams at Medical City Plano, Michael is doing great and back to his 20-year career as a first responder.
