The story we were told about this song is that NF heard Mikayla Sippel cover of one of his samples and loved it. He reached out to her and they made this song. You gotta love NF for that. Such a stand up guy.

He released a snippet on ig of a song he was not going to drop. Mikayla who is 15 covered the snippet. She had less thank 1k views when this song was dropped. It inspired NF to finish the song using her vocals. Crazy

Yeah, he released 2 posts on Instagram one titled “Chasing” and another titled “Bad Person”. She recorded herself on her phone while playing the piano. NF and Tommee Profitt made the demo. Really wild and awesome to hear them together.
That white noise is actually from Mikayla's sound clip. She recorded it in her room so the sound isn't studio quality. How he just loves and cares for his fans...This made me love NF even more

Nate put out a snippet of the song, just the chorus, on social media but said he wasn't going to record it. The fans were really disappointed that he wasn't going to record it and let him know!! Mikayla did a cover of it on her keyboard in her bedroom and recorded it on her phone. She's a 15/16 year old fan from Australia and has other covers of his songs on her IG. Tommee Profitt (Nate's producer) saw it, liked it and must have shown Nate. He got in touch with her and asked to use her recording. He finished off the verses he was going to discard and they put the demo together using her original recording for the choruses. And here it is!! I believe that's how it went down. ☺️
This song makes me cry every time for so many reasons ...this guy NF will always be my favorite for so much that he does...especially for putting a fans voice on a record. Nobody does that..ever.

Chasing isnt on an album..Came out as a single last year. You're Special came out on Perception in 2017.

I love listening to you two talk at the end of videos. When the song ends and there's still like 7 or 8 minutes of time left on your video, I'm super excited because that means we get to hear some of your deeper thoughts. Two things....first is that your vibe as a couple is awesome. You don't judge each other if you don't necessarily understand where the other is coming from. You just accept it and allow each other to be authentic. Second is that Lex's hair is so pretty. I've wanted to say that for the last couple videos, but just now really thought to put it down...lol. Yea NF heard her cover and it inspired him to release the song and used her version and just added his version. And that’s why his parts sound cleaner cuz they are in the studio and hers is straight up from her RUclips video. Crazy for an artist as big as NF to allow just a random fan to be a part of one his songs. With no strings attached.

Yep, a bad day during a rough season can push us over the edge. How do we come out of it? For me, prayer and encouragement from others helps. I used to isolate when I was going through something, now I force myself to go around people that I trust. Beautiful song!

You should react to NF "Turn the Music Up" It's straight up hype / club music. Makes your body want to start moving. I think he did it just to show people he can make that type music.
She wasn't in a studio. It looked like she was singing this from her bedroom on video covering a snippet of a song that he never finished. He didn't think the song was that great so he didn't plan on recording it but he put a little teaser out there. She heard it then covered it, then he heard her and reached out to her to see if she would be okay with him using it to finish the song. Hearing her basically inspired him to finish the song.
He released the chorus of this song. At that time that’s all he had for the song. A fan covered it recording it on her cell phone and uploaded it. It got to him and he was so touched that he ended up finishing the song and used her vocals.

I have a couple suggestions. If you get to them, cool. If not, that's cool, too.
One is anything by Jon Bellion. He is is a super talented producer, writer, and all around artists. Adult Swim is a good one for his rap skills. Carry Your Throne is one of my personal favorites. Guillotine and All Time Low are a couple of his more mainstream hits. You can't really go wrong with him.
The second suggestion is a group of three sisters from the Netherlands called Og3ne. They are a vocal group and have some amazing covers as well as great original music. I would suggest taking a look at a cover the did during quarantine last year of Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. It really is something else. Much love, y'all!

And yea, it didn't work. I know I was lying to myself each day. I tried for years to improve my self image and that didn't work either.
