I recently purchased a Futaba 3PV transmitter for my wife; and, have found it to be a great upgrade from a RTR system. Only $120 too. Just had to wrap the smooth handle with tennis racket grip tape to make it perfect for her...and I like its feel too. Kudos to Futaba for all their various levels of transmitters.
That is my biggest peeve with cheap radios, The plastic is so flimsy and thin, it has no weight, and God forbid you drop it, cause it will shatter. The flysky radios come to mind.
I've seen available RC System brands, but nothing separate me for the Futaba, i used it in most of my Cars, i ordered a Traxxas Sledge thru Online, and i will use a Futaba System into it
You are into FlySky. You should checkout the NB-4. It is a 8 channel with telemetry and high quality for a small price! The 8 channels are through the servo on the reciever. You add the small reciever to it. For the telemetry, you add S-bus controller and then a sensor module ;-)
O yeah remember stick futabas like 50 bucks and futaba came out with the junior , they had a cool rubber for the wheel ,looked like a mud tire futabas always the best
The first time I used a Futaba was when I had my Tamiya Frog. Yeah…years ago! I’m planning to upgrade my RTR transmitter for a Futaba 4PM for my RTR TRX4 and HPI Baja 5t but don’t know which receiver to get. It’s either the R304SB or R334SBS. Any suggestions?
Nice transmitter; but, pricey...for crawling. I recently purchased a Futaba 3PV for my wife to upgrade from an RTR system. Gave her all kinds of adjustability for only $119.95. Only thing I did to it was add tennis racket grip tape to the smooth handle of the transmitter. AMain recommended the 3PV to me; and, they were right on!
Avc is inside the spektrum receiver which you would replace to use this radio so no - but futaba has gyros you could use for the same effect. Honestly though avc hurts performance if you're doing anything besides high speed runs. If you're jumping especially, even anything over like 3ft high, avc will make you more likely to crash even at like 10-15% gain. Removed it from my Kraton 8s day one and never looked back.
@@dis3nchant3d42 oh I see. I was wondering why everyone says they don't use AVC at all 😂 I usually have it on the lowest setting. Would you reccomend this so I can connect to my Redcat Gen 8, Kraton 6s? I really want to pull the trigger but there's not a lot of videos showing how well it can be used
@@ulisesh2727 this is definitely a great radio and imo a radio upgrade to a mid tier multi model capable low latency feature rich radio is probably one of the best things you can do if you're going to stick with the hobby - both for quality of life and for driving. 1 radio for all models instead of one per model. Of course you'll need a receiver for each model but it's worth it for nice rcs. Which version Kraton do you have? If it's the v4 with the red tower to tower brace, then it has the spektrum stx2 radio which is terrible. If you upgrade to this radio just for that car alone you will notice a huge reduction in latency. If you have a v3 or earlier it will still be a latency improvement over the tactic radio but not an insane improvement like on the stx2 radios. I would recommend no gyro/avc/Traxxas tsm on any RC that isn't doing speed runs myself. It's both a handicap and an impediment to learning better driving techniques. How much money would you want to spend on a radio upgrade? There are options ranging in price and quality from around $50 to like $600 haha! But I don't think there's any tell reason to spend more than maybe $300 even if you're pretty serious unless you're legitimately racing for money. Edit: fyi I use the futaba 4pv which I love.

Nice radio, use one on my mini’s. Only con is this thing sucks down batteries. I don’t know why but I have to change the batteries after like 2 hours of use.
Curious if the 4PM will be able to take a drop-down and/or angle piece for the wheel like the 4PV? From the video the wheel section looks fully molded and doesn't come apart to add those parts on...?
Seriously look at the fly sky gt5. It comes with a gyro in the included receiver. I know I love the gyro for my slash. Has tons of options. And is amazing price.

I think radio technically we are not up to date yet. There should be a radio with a mobile phone holder and GPS on the receiver. then you could read off the speed, send lipo Statu to mobile phone, maybe even two additional on and off channels on the touch screen for light, winch ...... . you could read statistics, average speed, maximum speed, 0-60, run time, lipo quality....

There are a few good radio brands out there nowadays, but in over 30 years Futaba has never failed me. They're the only radios I use.

Just bought this for my first high end radio. Put in 3 vehicles so far. Great radio.
Does it display the battery voltage of the vehicle with any receiver?

just got the flysky noble. Great radio for the money. Only took it out once and I love it

The plastic they used has a really nice finish. It looks like glass reinforced something. Like what they use for cordless drills.

For the T4PM SR…the Futaba site says telemetry does not work.
How does this compare to the spektrum DX5 rugged?
No comparison. Unfortunately Spektrum quality is not on par with Futaba.
