So really there is no best in this scenario. In that case, and given there were no actual details about the sound quality of either, then this is not a review/comparison at all but a video about a philosophical point. Correct me if I’m wrong here.
did you like Goldring can you recommend it i want to buy a new cartridge and dont want to spend a fortune im trying to find a good replacement for my empire 398
@@scientificaudiophile I like a rich red Blend myself so Pino to me is off the table ...I assume you favor the Red ...Gotcha ....so was it really that tasty ...
Confused the crap out of me, but owning the E3 for a few weeks, I couldn't wait to send it back to Amazon after waiting out 20+ hours of break in time, it was a torture. Barely any low frequencies coming through, some mids and clear highs, but I like to hear all frequencies properly that were recorded. My stock AT-VM95E was opposite of E3 in frequencies, but is still better to listen to. Got the Nagaoka MP-110, pretty good compared to the E3 and the AT, but looking for a bit more sparkle in the mids and highs, so thinking of picking up the DL-103/R, but not sure how it would be in comparison to Nagaoka MP-200. Good thing I can still return these to Amazon and I guess keep trying till I find the right one. If anyone's confused about the rating - stay away from E3, run!!! Plus I like Pinot Grigio more 😉Also, one thing I won't be sending back is the new phono pre-amp - Schiit Mani 2, as it literally tripled the sound quality of any integrated and other inexpensive preamps like the ART DJPREII or USB PLUS outdated amps... sent those back ;)
lmao, I've owned both this is utter bullshit. Nothing about this is scientific nor accurate. Even the freq response is way more robust on the 103R. Its 20 Hz to 45 kHz as opposed to 20-20khz on the Gold ring. The gold ring just washes over shitty systems with a warm feel. Its the new Nagokoa. It doesnt reveal nearly as much.
@@scientificaudiophile I think I will pass on the wine as I am a teetotaller. Could you make a follow-up video where you provide some clarification on your findings ?
you contradict almost every other DL103R review and opinion on the net, obviously you are quite entitled to your opinion but you are very much a lone voice. this needs a rethink, all of the below comments should tell you that!
Scientific Audiophile, as a title for this site would appear to be incorrect, in the strongest measure. Either retire, due to mental breakdown, or just disappear. You make Donald Trump look like a credible politician, and that he should be residing over the Hague and be head of the global jurisdiction. Yeh, that bad. Why even post this non comment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm always amazed how many can't see the woods for the trees. Clearly head and shoulders above the competition. 👍
This has got to be the most ridiculous review I've watched.
Like all SA videos, this is a parody of RUclips hi fi vids.

We clearly awarded the winner at the end of the video.
@@scientificaudiophile so your saying Malbec is better than pino
@@NAZTYPONY007 We love the coy response, but we all know what is better.

Lol. Wtf is this rating system? 🤣 And what the fuck is the whole video?
Sooooo which one?? 🤔
Watch the end. We rate them both.
🤣

Worst 3 minutes of my life .
so then what is a Sumiko Amythist compared to these two !!!!
Malbec is fuller-bodied while Pinot Grigio is lighter and more delicate. Hmm.

Meaningless. Where is the Tempranillo rating?
These cartridges don't deserve anything close to a Tempranillo rating!
You were doing well until the end. I know nothing about wine.
When you understand wine you’ll understand the Scientific Audiophile. It’s time you became an Audio Scientologist.
@@scientificaudiophile I think I will pass on the wine as I am a teetotaller.

I dont drink ,, so xD
Perhaps you could start a new channel with a cheese based audiophile rating system that runs the gamut from paneer to Roquefort.
Click bait if you want to watch some pretentious nonsense ..
OMG, can't stand pretentiousness 🤣
My expertise concerning wine is limited to my experiences guzzling Boone's Farm in my youth, so I'm kinda shit oughta luck here.
WTF, I don’t drink or know about wine🙈💩.
Then you can never be a true scientific audiophile. 🥺

Nothing on this channel is even remotely funny.
This review was worthless !

I did retire. My parents take care of me and I do RUclips videos as therapy for my mental illness. You are more astute than you realize.
