    Never knew that. That might have something to do with my weedeater graveyard.
    Reminds me of when i went thru my, "I'm too poor for a mechanic for my rustmobile maintenance," phase. My best friend's hubby had an auto shop and because he knew i was a struggling single mom was willing to tell me what i needed to do if it was simple enough. One day i started hearing a new scarey noise under my hood and immediately headed over to find out if my car was going to blow up in the next 24 hours or i had time to save up for repair.
    His son came out to help so his dad could continue his conversation with the lineup of old men who just came there to hang out. He said it was simply a loose alternator belt and he'd have it tightened in less than a minute. I repeatedly insisted on doing it myself if he would just talk me thru it because he might not be around next time.
    He said okay and handed me the screw driver . He pointed to the belt and told me to just pull it until i came to the buckle. There was a little chuckling in the old men gallery which i didnt think much of, probably a funny story. After a short time i reported i wasnt finding it and asked what it looked like. Just like a belt buckle but smaller. As i continued pulling the belt it was outright laughter from the gallery. Looked up and realized i was the entertainment for the day. 😂😂😂
    The one bad thing is i have never had to use that knowledge of which screw to tighten ever again.

  • @TheStigma
    @TheStigma 2 месяца назад

    Lack of lubrication is probably one lf the most common causes of failure in all sorts of tools with moving parts, because most people just don't know about it. Especially anything with gearing. And just because the motor may be electric on some tools that doesn't mean it doesnt have parts that rub. Eventually grease and lube dries out or gets so dirty that friction increases dramatically. At that at point electric tools especially just burn out their motors and die. Best not to lube everything and anything though. Just look up a guide so you know where the important spots are. If you aren't an experienced tinkerer it is not always obvious what needs lube.
