Thanks for showing different models with different skin tones in your videos. Helps to see which things are universal and which things you can adjust per the situation.
Hi Daniel I always enjoy your videos. I've been a photographer ever sense the 80s, so what I'm going to suggest I all ready know but I'm asking this of you for those that may not know. Could you or would you give a class on how to attach gels to monolight units that have a modeling light, and maybe how one can attach gels to softboxes and strip boxes the right way. I'm sure some of your younger and newer photographer viewers may enjoy knowing the right way to do this. Thanks
It’s nice to see you back in the studio. Thanks for showing the effect of the chocolate gel. Would never have thought the effect would be that subtle and nice. Doesn’t scream out, might not be identified by most viewers, but would have an effect on a viewer, I believe. I’ll bet I miss a lot of tricks like that.
Oh wow, glad to see you back in your Studio in NYC! I will definetly check the Chocolate Filter, I like the warmth it gives. Its great that one can see product and what it does through the ADORAMA channel!
I'm a little late to the party here but I always wondered something and could never find a video that covered this topic. When using gels, what WB setting do you set on your camera? Do you keep the camera set to AWB, or use a specific setting so that the camera doesn't adjust to correct the gels back to what it thinks it should be for a "proper" WB?
Thanks for another great video! It's simple to do. I do appreciate simple set ups. One million in unmarked bills? LOL! By the way, I love your new mask it's more colorful. A pro photographer should have a colorful creative mask.
Thanks for a nice video. Simple setup, good tips. It seemed like the second filter changed the color or the shade on Farah's pants? Or was that just my monitor? Nice to see you in studio.
We have to remember. A correct exposure does not exist. it's all subjective and subject dependant. A meter can get to close and afford consistency but it does not mean it's 100% out of the gate.
why not increase the exposure in capture one & shoot it like that ? because u once told in one of ur video that capture one saves the changes & applies it on all of the images shot after that .
Ideally, you want the "best" exposure "in camera" as everything you do to the raw file can degrade the file output. If the exposure etc is right on then you have more room later if you want to tweak/adjust for stylistic reasons.
@@DanielNortonPhotographer rightly said ! thank you Daniel for the videos that you make. would love to see more of travel & lifestyle photography tips from you.
She’s got such a gorgeous skin ! Love Daniel’s lighting !
Johan Rey for sure! Thanks.

That chocolate get..... Just awesome. Always an inspiration Daniel, many thanks.
Thanks!
Thanks Daniel for another wonderful toturials.
Thank you
I like the more "normal" skin tone look without the filter on the main! Thanks for showing!
I tend to agree, thanks!
Love it. I once on a cloudy day used a gold reflector to help the bring out the olive skin tones on a model.
Nice
fab stuff great to se you back in the studio again
Feels nice to be back!

Cool, yes, it can be subtle, though not so much when directly on the skin.
I bet you were feeling pretty good to be back in your studio. Thanks for another cool video.
Yes, I was! Thanks!

Awesome, let me know how you like it
I found the use of the CTO and Chocolate Gels compliment Farrah's Skin Tone. Useful information as always, Thanks Daniel and Farrah.
Cool!
Thanks Daniel. You have a way of explaining things so that even I can follow it. :-)
Shane Baker awesome, Thanks!
Thanks again, Daniel.
Thanks for watching

I'm trying out a few different ones for sure
Another great tutorial
Thank you!
Solid video. You and Farah are braver than I am right now, though.
It's important to be aware and take precautions of course
thanks for the tips,
can you make videos how to use lighting with boom / light on top of the model ??
Thanks for a nice video. Simple setup, good tips. It seemed like the second filter changed the color or the shade on Farah's pants? Or was that just my monitor? Nice to see you in studio.
Sure, if you gel the key light it will adjust color on everything it lights.
We have to remember. A correct exposure does not exist. it's all subjective and subject dependant.
A meter can get to close and afford consistency but it does not mean it's 100% out of the gate.
Top, thumbs up from Germany / 4sen
Thank you
Daniel, just wondering what your take is on the cosmetic gels. Cosmetic peach, cosmetic highlight etc.
Cosmetic Gels are great, I made a video here - ONSET #215 where I discuss them.
Thank you.
Thank you!
I more into the neutral aspect of the pics you took before the gels were Added. Personal taste of course. Take care, dude. Love your vídeos.
Cool, it's always nice to show options, but sometimes neutral is best.
Hi, if instead of putting gels on the strobes, what about putting a warming filter on your camera instead?
Using a warming filter on your lens will affect the entire frame, by using gels, you gain control over the color of each light individually.
Do you ever use a CTS gel? Color Temperature Straw. Slightly less orange.
Yes, CTS is also a good option
thx
Thanks for watching
I think Farah's link got messed up. @thisisnotfarah is going to a dead page.

White/cream jacket threw off the TTL. (meter fix). There is no color brown. It's actually has orange in it although it's not as obvious as a CTO
🤷🏻♂️
Mmmmfff fmppt nnmmffpt mmnmptt...oops sorry, mask off now. Great tutorial 😁
