The design is ALOT better then the previous model. I own a 2013 prius model 4 with the full package and at a mileage of 70k and still drive very good. I love it because it really save me alot of gas and doing doordash and other delivery on the side really help me gain some cash as a college student at a flight University.
@@alextanti432 so I'm not allowed to have an opinion on the looks of this car? I'm saying this car looks fine, especially when looking at some other Toyota cars.
2023 and I'm still considering one. The Corolla Wagon with the same drivetrain is popular here in the U.K. but when I sat in one it seemed a bit too low in the driving position.
Yes, get the awd-e. I've had my 2019 awd Prius for a year, and my average economy -- by the spreadsheet -- is 3.9L/100kms, or 60+ US mpg. I think this car really is close to the perfect commuter.

I understand the shape of the prius. It’s a practical liftback. It’s different and bigger than a standard smaller hatchback. And it’s more practical than a sedan. The liftback of the prius is just perfect. If it had a flat back like the corolla. It would be a Corolla

Appreciated the reference to a good set of winter tires as an alternative to AWD in FWD and FWD-biased AWD systems. With the weight of an engine over the drive wheels in a relatively small, light vehicle FWD performs admirably in messy winter conditions in almost all situations. There are, of course, advantages for AWD and 4WD systems in larger, heavier vehicles and in truly challenging conditions but for the vast majority of drivers FWD functions well, saves fuel, and doesn't incur the additional penalty of the equivalent of an NFL linebacker sitting in the back seat.
Snow tires are worth their weight in gold, they really should be standard issue for any cars that have to deal with snow or ice on a regular basis, I've been using snow tires for over 15 years out of my 30 years on the road. every year i'd insist my mother get snows for her vehicle, usually responding "no my all seasons are fine" or "I have AWD on my SUV, I don't need them", last year, I finally got her to get snows on her '14 Honda CR-V AWD.... ….she's now a believer in snows, and recommends them to everyone she meets. If you can afford a set of snows, there's no reason *not* to get them
If they made it look like other cars they'd just get rid of the hatchback, and uh. No. The cargo space is a selling point. Very useful for Ikea runs and various gardening projects, lol. I have a III with almost 160k miles on it and I pretty consistently get 45-50+ MPG. Everyone cries over gas prices but I still only put like, $30 in it to fill the tank. It's also weirdly good on snow and ice.
Buy the L eco or LE otherwise upgrade to the Camry LE Hybrid or RAV4 Hybrid. The Prius makes sense in the lower trims if you drive more than 15k miles per year. The Corolla Hybrid might be the way to go now but you lose a ton of space.
if you are going to save gas why go half way? the prius is the best at saving gas. I always get 62mpg on the highway and 65+ on the streets. you cant beat that with any hybrid vehicle.
Just got my new 2019 Prius XLE (year-end special). I'd like to know whether owners think the B-mode deceleration has any measurable affect on their fuel economy.
WTF! The AWD system is the only reason I am now considering to buy one of these. Up here in Canada, fwd cars (with snow tires because is the law to have them) get stuck all the time in storms.
Meh, not for me, i want a car to be both *FUN* to drive (which the Prius emphatically is NOT!), *AND* get great fuel economy (which it *IS* the undisputed king of in the petroleum fueled category) My solution; a used 2012 VW Golf TDI, I found a Certified preowned one with 50K on the odometer, with 2 year/unlimited warranty, and 4 year/120K emissions/powertrain warranty, this car gets 36-46 MPG depending on conditions, yes the Prius gets slightly better mileage, but the Golf *IS* amazingly fun to drive, i'm willing to give up a little fuel economy to gain driving enjoyment the price for a fun driving experience *AND* 46 MPG (sometimes even close to 50 on the highway)? a miserly $9000 ...and yes, it has the emissions-fix repair, it has 50K on the odometer, and the tailpipe is completely clean, absolutely *no* soot It's all a matter of balancing your wants/needs
Prius driver's seat and passengers seat feels like I just got in a fighter jet plane cockpit. It's just put me to a torture chair. Can't move e lot. My balls gone stuck in a golf hole. Feels suck. The most important space is the front space. Idiotic interior

1337 yea but it doesn’t offer anywhere near the cargo space that the Prius does. Prius can fit a whole mattress in the back and people take it camping and sleep in the back. Camry has nowhere near that cargo space.
I'm here to complain about prius drivers. For some reason in NYC they've been tailgaiting me, cutting me off, slamming on brakes, and stopping on Brooklyn Bridge and blocking an entire lane by fighting with another rideshare driver. BMW drivers are bad, but prius ruin their own day, everyone else's day, and refuse to admit that they're the cause of all the issues on the road. They're the type of people that if a cop pulls over and instead of getting a ticket or a warning they'll end up getting tased and charged with a felony for assault on cop.
