- I recently purchased a piece of Italian Art Glass and it was sold as a Murano Mid Century Modern Empoli Decanter. While it may be an excellent and gorgeous decorative piece for the home it is not an authentic piece of art glass. Don't make a mistake and follow my tips for identifying art glass.

Well done tutorial! THANK YOU!
Fantastic Tutorial I learned how to identify a real glass to a remake one!!!
I’m not an Empoli expert but I am familiar with it. Many empoli bottles were utilitarian in nature not just art glass. This bottle and other genie bottles were created by Empoli to hold wine. They are generally valued around 150$ to 250$ depending on color and pattern. They are molded with rubber stoppers. Empoli also created many art glass decanters/bottles that were hand blown.
You are 100% correct. She shouldn’t be making this video if she’s clueless about Empoli like this. She’s done zero research, which is made all too obvious.
Unfortunately I agree. If you are spending hundreds of dollars oj pieces- at least know the difference between handblown and glass made in a mold. And empoli glass was made in empoli, not murano!
Thank u 😊 Kathlene
In the UK these bottles often had bath salts or soap flakes in them at point of sale. Also different designs mostly came with a generic stopper that would not match the body. You have done well to get one with the correct stopper with the plastic intact and no [hard to remove]residue clogging up the inside.
How did you not see the line in the glass . Joint seal style doesnt indicate authenticity , ground joints are better but rubber and cork is commonly used.
Love it
