Ever since I found your channel my hair has been thriving!! I've been alternating between bond treatments and protein treatments on every wash day. Previously I was so focused on moisture and my hair kept breaking.
Can you do I video showing us bond building dupes (for olaplex n° 0 and n° 3) that you’d recommend? I’ve tried the Redken one and it was cool, but now they increased the price, so it’s pretty much the same thing as buying olaplex. I am now using the L’Oréal one and I don’t know how I feel. Would love to hear your thoughts on some more affordable options. Great video! I love science-based hair content
Okay I can do! Honestly when i first started using bond builders there was only OLAPLEX on the market and have been loyal since! :D definitely need to venture i will take a look xxx
I can tell you do a lot of research. How do I know if I need bond building? I’ve just recovery from low porosity build up. My hair is well moisturized now, but still can be frizzy. I don’t color, or flat iron my hair. Should I use Olaplaex or try Protien treatments first? I thought since my hair is frizzy it needs bond building, but I don’t use heat or chemicals. The only heat is a blow dryer & hooded dryer
Only thing about K18 is that it has so much denatured alcohol in it in order to get the peptide into the strands. It dried my hair out with regular use. I'm personally over these bond builders. I've gone back to old school protein treatments. Joico is my brand of choice.
Hey Nadine, not sure if you answer comments from old videos but I neglected my hair for years and my hair is damaged from insane dehydration/not moisturizing (leaving hair in "protective styles" for months at a time... I know) + mechanical damage. I have like 5 different types of splits end & splitting up the shaft. Do you think I should lean towards Olaplex or Aphogee? I do already make sure there's protein in my products (conditioner/deep conditioner & heat protectant) so I was leaning more towards Olaplex.
Hey girl! We’ve all been there for sure the way I nursed my hair back to health from a similar treatment 1) deep condition with heat twice weekly, 1 hydrating conditioner and 1 protein based 2) trim often 3) low manipulation styles 4) protect your hair at night 5) avoid harsh shampoos sulfate free only and I would only use moisturising shampoos 6) apply leave in daily (find a strengthening leave in you hair likes) Xxxx
@@naturalnadinee I really appreciate you taking the time to reply! It's been a year now of trial & error with my haircare so I'm already doing most except for 1. (I'm at once/week) & 6. so thank you, I'm going to work on those two! 🤎
Thanks for explaining why we need both products. I love Curl Smith bond builder. I never used a protein treatment with it. It has always been one or the other. I will start using both now. What was the new bond builder's name that is better than Olaplex?
I find the curl smith bond curl is very strong too so I would be wary of too much protein in one go, but other than that there’s no harm, & it’s called Eprés. The chemist who developed OLAPLEX created it
Hi Nadine, I have salt and pepper natural type 2c hair for two years now and am having such a hard time looking after my hair. Could you please do a video on how to take care of natural grey/salt/pepper hair. I’m so afraid of using silicones but my hair likes it. Thank you
Hello i was curious as to how Hair botox falls into the protein category? Does it contain protein to where you wouldn't need to do protein treatments or would you still need to have products with proteins and protein treatments on top of hair Botox?
I have a question, Im losing curl elasticity in my hair and I did cut my hair because I had to trim it as it was thinning but I did it while it was wet. I’m not very informed on knowing when to cut natural hair wet or dry but now I do know! I just don’t know if I should use the bond builder or the aphogee, because my curls look kind of weird at the end before & after cutting? Please help! 😢
To be honest OLAPLEX say it’s not a protein treatment it’s a bond builder (but their bond building ingredient is a protein) so to me it’s a technicality because they’re also under a law suit right now because of people who have used their products too often ended up with dry brittle hair and breakage (which are all symptoms of protein overload😭) so whether or not they’re being honest about the nature of the product in my opinion is abit sketchy. I have had no issues using it frequently but my hair loves protein! Tread with caution when using OLAPLEX and also try other bond builders such as redken and curlsmith bond curl xxx
What's your email & I can send info. about the product U spoke of in last part of this video cause 4 some reason YT isn't cooperating I've tried 6 times !
First 😳!? I really love the knowledge you're putting out there Nadine ❤️
Thank you 🥹🥹🤍🤍

Aw thank you so much for this!🥺🥹 && it’s so true when you focus on strengthening it really helps with length retention xx

The K-18 brand should equally be recommended, when speaking of protein & bond building products.
K18 is good, but it’s ridiculously expensive (at least in the U.K.) and the products I mentioned do the same thing at a better price point

@@naturalnadinee No I would only use one or the other.
If Aphogee is a 4-6 week product…how often would you say you use the Olaplex bond repair?
what about color damage from bleaching? would a bond builder or protein treatment work best?

Do you do the no 3 Olaplex on clean hair?
Hi Nadine, Do you have like a little list of low molecular weight proteins like silk? I am afraid to search online. Thx 😊
Hey girl don’t be afraid to search online! Just make sure to check your sources are reliable! Xxx

Have you tried the Curl Smith bond product?
Yes but only once, I personally prefer olaplex 🤷🏾♀️
I use both and I think I like curlsmith just it makes my curls look better AND it’s cheaper 🤷🏽♀️
What’s the name of the “new” bonding formula

I thought Olaplex is NOT. A Protein . If it is then how many times should we be using this. So we to not get protein overload 🙄😳

Its pronounced Epre, the S is silent
