    Amazing build, as usual! I especially commend you for stressing so well the differences between Yarus and the Naya precon. This one feels faster, more resilient and more aggressive. If I had to pick one, it would definitely be this one.
    About the shorter format for the precon upgrades, I think it's for the best: faster for us, less mentally exhausting for you and still at high quality
    PS: The Great Henge storyline never disappoints!

      Glad you liked it! I really wanted to make it clear that both Kaust and Yarus had about 90% of the same cards / playstyle at their disposal, but their plastyles were different enough to make them feel unique - so I'm happy that point came across.
      Also - thanks for the feedback and for enjoying my endless hatred for that stupid tree!

    Glad to see Yarus getting some attention, and nice list!
    The deck also has nice synergy with generic big Gruul creatures that benefit from haste (Etali primal storm, savage ventmaw, giant adephage) since there's haste built into the command zone and there are a handful of ways to cheat them into play through scroll of fate / hide in plain sight etc.

    Love the build ! Definitely inspired me to build Yarus myself. Quick question though - wouldnt the infinites with Yedora not work since she returns them as lands so you wouldnt be able to sac them using goblin bombardment or ashnods altar?

    Gotta say, just found your channel after slowly getting back into MTG since I was in High School (this time with EDH instead of Standard). I watched your Caesar precon upgrade video which was dope.
    Is it possible to make a video for a Sorin Markov commander deck? Any of his cards that use the Orzhov scheme? He's one of my favorite Planeswalkers and unfortunately I just can't find any guides or starting points. I was thinking Grim Nemesis, but I don't know. It's a slow process for me relearning how to deck build.

  • @AndreaGiuseppeCastriotta

    Fun fact: if Yarus is on the field with a bunch of Morphed/Disguised creatures when activating Showstopping Surprise (or Blasphemous Act), it will wipe out the board, Yarus while dying will see all the face-down creatures dying too and revive them
    So basically you can shotgun a Blashemous/Showstopping (almost the same if you flip something massive with) AND retain your board (now bigger, stronger and with triggers) at the cost of just Yarus... it's insane

      True - though I still like it alongside our sac outlets as a way to get ride of otherwise resilient or dangerous creatures that still fits with our face down centric playstyle - since our options are a lot more limited in just red / green.

  • @Zeromus5555
    @Zeromus5555 6 месяцев назад

    I actually really dont like Showstopping Surprise. If it said "your opponents control" it would be good. As is, its a terrible Blasphemous Act. Its not bad if you have Yarus and a bunch of facedowns as they'll see Yarus was on the board and all come back faceup, but thats happy Christmas land, plus I have to recast Yarus for 6 at that point. It's a terrible card, dont play it.

    • @GrazzetMTG
      @GrazzetMTG  6 месяцев назад

      Those are fair assessments - but I will counter with that the fact that this being an instant makes it better than it may intially appear. Being able to respond to an opponents committing to the board by wiping it and being able to start rebuilding before them is fantastic. Admittedly though, it does require us to keep 5 mana open for a full rotation, which is not ideal - so I can see the argument for cutting it.

    • @Zeromus5555
      @Zeromus5555 6 месяцев назад

      @GrazzetMTG Ya, I've tested Kaust for dozens of games now and most games it either was dead in NY hand or set me back further. Really poorly designed card.

  • @Zeromus5555
    @Zeromus5555 6 месяцев назад

    I think Yarus is more powerful than Kaust, but only have 2 colors and losing some really great removal and cloak cards really hurts him for me. Such a sweet commander if you get the set up, but sadly he just eats removal since the deck heavily revolves around him.

    • @GrazzetMTG
      @GrazzetMTG  6 месяцев назад +1

      I agree with this - that is why I made a decent effort in getting in ways to protect Yarus from removal so we can keep using is effect for a long as possible.
      Hopefully we'll be getting more face down centric cards in the future, as they will only help to make Yarus better as time progresses.

      She does seem like a fun historic style commander with an emphasis on artifacts / legendary lands rather than legendary creatures - maybe with some self mill and non-hand casting payoffs thrown in for good measure. Not sure if I'll have the time to tackle her before Outlaws of Thunder Junction is upon us though...

  • @chuckmower
    @chuckmower 6 месяцев назад +1

    This convinced me of the untapped synergy you can have with face down cards in commander. I wouldn’t have given this archetype a second glance until now.
    I also agree that there is not true upgrade for the deck unless you already have a great henge. No need to buy one for the deck. But if that is your thing that is your thing.
    Thank you for the video.

    • @GrazzetMTG
      @GrazzetMTG  6 месяцев назад +1

      Glad to hear that this build helped convince you to give Yarus and morphs a fair shot, as, all jokes aside, the deck is pretty solid and may just be better than the Deadly Disguise Precon its competing with.
      Also, yeah - if you were lucky enough to crack The Great Henge, by all means slot it in. It honestly should go in every single deck that has green in it that has a decent amount of creatures it it (which is why I hate it), but dropping $55 on it may be overkill.

    • @Zeromus5555
      @Zeromus5555 6 месяцев назад

      @GrazzetMTG I think it's just too expensive in Kaust and with white the extra fight removal isn't really needed.

Also waiting to see what you did with Mr House, my friend built it as well and I’m interested to see other builds on him as well. Massacre girl is another interesting one I’m waiting for. Also love the jokes you have for power cards that go way over budget, like the always looming Great Henge.

    Found this video as I searched for more ideas on one of my favorite decks. Found this to actually be kinda similar to what I already built too. I made yarus when he came out, and Ive always loved morph ever since I started playing in onslaught, so I had to make him. Just want to share how I made him too. I made it with a more colorless subtheme. I use mana rocks instead of land ramp because they're colorless and also they're an easy manifest that yarus can flip for more ramp. Blasting station is a great sac outlet that will untap with each yarus trigger and can pick off small creatures. Soul of the harvest over the elf as it draws on etb instead of cast to draw more cards on yarus triggers as well as fecundity for draws on sac. Moonsilver key can fetch ashnod's altar, phyrexian altar, the great henge or forsaken monument which I also like running since the morphs are colorless and nets you two life on morph casts as well as doubles all my mana which I went pretty hard on with the colorless mana production as I found myself not caring about if I can even produce a single color when everything I cast is colorless anyways. Mystic forge also is great as you can cast morphs off the top of your library and another reason to run mana rocks instead of land ramp spells. I also try having a lot of creature cost reduction as once morph become free, the deck popps off with all the passive card draw from ETBs and yarus triggers from sac outlets.

      @@SSBalla29 thanks. Modern horizons 3 also brinks kozilek the distorted reality that works wonders with yarus. Glaring fleshraker is great ramp/token generator as well and does a ton of damage to the table and lazotep quary is a great sac on a land. High market and miren, the moaning well were also lands I forgot to mention that are great too. I like his colorless theme he can pull off a lot.

    • @GrazzetMTG
      @GrazzetMTG  6 месяцев назад +1

      Honestly, if you want to build the deck as is, it may actually be cheaper to buy the cards from the precon individually since the prices for them tanked upon its release. That said, the precon does come with a copy of Jeska's Will, which is a fantastic card and would slot right into the Yarus build as solid ramp/draw upgrade - so if you want it, then the precon would be the better choice there.

    Real comment: I always was never impressed by Kaust (the face commander of the Morph decks), as it seemed like he was way too monotoneous in his design and his timing was awkward to get the payoff of a single card (Example: attacking with a flip land and getting a card is impossible due to how Kaust is worded and generally never worth it.)
    I might honestly just make this guy at this point since you have the avenue of sac outlets and a way to cheat out the morph cost at any point in time. That, and Haste is severely underrated.
    I know its not a budget card but Cloudstone Curio (16 USD at this point of time) could be a potential sidegrade as it can allow you to reuse morph abilities. Given enough cost reducers you can also get it to the point where you can infinite cast with two morphs, add your commander and a sac outlet and its infinite [whatever morph trigger you have].
    6 card+ combo yes but at that point, you deserve the win if you get it off unimpeded.
