- The Chicago White Sox lost their 100th game yesterday to the Detroit Tigers. That is the fastest mark to get to that dubious defeat mark in the 162-game era and only two other teams in MLB history reached 100 defeats sooner. That is not just embarrassing, it is downright pathetic.
Host Todd Welter discusses why it is pathetic. Only two things will get us out of this nightmare:
1) Time will pass until we finally develop quality players
2) Jerry Reinsdorf will die
Wsox are average at developing a pitcher, are great at developing a LHP. Hitting is flat out bad though.
Back to back seasons with 100 losses and we could conceivably have 3 consecutive
2024 White Sox nicknames: Chicago Spiders, Black Sox 2.0, Dead Horses.
Take heart. The 1977-1982 Mets were a laughingstock 5 years of 90 or more losses, but they wound up being perenial playoff contenders from 1984-1988.

Crochet looks good, but needs traded - unless he can turn into Old Hoss Radbourne, and if he completed as many games as Radbourne he still might not win 25 with that offense.

Reinsdorf has let this ENTIRE organization deteriorate to ghetto status
They have an average farm system.
Stadium security having it easy with such low attendance.
If you think about it ,its more a pitching problem than a batting problem.that many leads blown tells me they need to overhaul bullpen.

Hagen Smith looks fine, but still wish the Sox chose Jac Caglianone another left handled power bat to compliment George Wolkow in A Ball.
At least they can somewhat develop pitchers, any hitter/position player is probably a wasted pick with this particular front office in place
@@grizzgrizzly7208true, but Chris Sale and Crochet have great stuff and confidence in their abilities, those two developed themselves, unfortunately Sox coaches couldn't help Kopech and Rey Lopez, great arms doing good on winning teams Dodgers and Braves, Cease just needed offensive help, he's getting it with Padres, All this young pitching coming up will need big offensive help. Wolkow, Montgomery, Quero, Vargas, Vaughn, Ramos etc need to be decent, or else the pitching will be traded away, typical Sox office move, Jerry Reinsdorf 👎❌🤡🚫. 2005🎉

It’s interesting that Vaughn is always dinged as an underperformer at 2.46 .330 .380 .710 slash line,
But a lot of people see Luis Robert as untouchable at 2.25 .281 .419 .700
Because both of them grossly underperform, Vaughn had been nothing but below average he struggles to even hit .240, doesn't take walks or hit for nearly enough power to be of real value and is not good in the field and this is a third overall pick we are talking about, at least Robert has shown he can at least hit 40 homers if he stays healthy enough and in the lineup (an extremely big if at this point), but otherwise he has, like Vaughn have become part of the problem with the Sox and not much evidence they are going to be part of any solution, at least with the Sox
Getz says Reinsdorf is willing to spend on free agents soon, yeah that's why Harper, Machado and Bauer signed elsewhere, when you courted them before, no one is going to come here, work on signing Robert Jr and Crochet first as building blocks
They have nothing to lose by extending Crochet. Robert tanked his trade value. I hope the Wsox get the message and spend like 60m on cheap hitters/bullpen. At minimum they need to upgrade the offense.
They have patience with players that are bad

Now Getz is under the microscope with Grifol gone. And except for bannister, it doesn't look good. Trades have been bad. Farm system has no bats. Stuck with Vargas when Ramos is hitting in aaa.
