Unbelieveable. I just came across this video. Back in the early '80s I had exactly the same 2-dr 1981 Honda Civic 1.3 with the same color just like that. Mine had the original 12" steel wheels. It was an excellent car. It is nice to see a video like this. Great work.
dang when I saw that motor I was think about finishing post months back when he was looking for one out in Vegas how cool is that you were able to help them
This is AWESOME!! I own an '81 Civic 1500GL 5 speed with a bunch of handling and braking mods. It's a blast to drive even with the stock engine. PLEASE produce a B-series mount kit for these cars!!
I can't really answer that question. Almost any engine swap will require some custom work and it depends on who's doing the work. There are varying amounts of custom work depending on the swap too.
Cause mine has the original motor and when I saw how clean the engine compartment was I rushed inside the car to see the odometer lol but it said it had 247,000 miles it... booo lol

I want to see what this thing becomes. Super cool looking.
I have an 82 I bought from the original owner, a Grandma. It's mint. Looking forward to following the build and getting some ideas.

The odometer only goes up to 100,000 so its likely rolled over at least once
Pucktechnology Of course, it’s a Honda!
I have an 81' civic hatch EF 1300cc w/ 5spd manual, but mine has square headlights tho... is that different from the 1500cc model ?

So can you switch the engine from a 79 civic, with a 81 civic engine?.
Yes you can.
VTEC Academy you rock, thank you.
Mr Hasport !

Didn't that "fresh" motor smoke more than Finnegan's old one? lol
You tell me. We never ran it. And was it oil smoke?
Apparently the CVCC seals went bad in the years it sat.
