Why would I sell my dream Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711-R?
My thoughts on buying it, and why I listed it for sale?

I agree with what you’re saying but when you get a car it is much more headache… petrol, maintenance and everything takes part and you lose money on all those things. A watch you just wear on your wrist and keeps great value

    1) You wear the watch very high on your wrist, 2) if you’re thinking that having 2x the value of your watch in stock is very good, then the watch is out of your price range. Buying a watch shouldn’t be about money. In other words, you probably can’t afford it, and feeling it.

Wise thoguhts!) Talking of how high/low you wear, I think it's just about preference and how you like it.

I did not say that having 2x your watch value in stocks is good. I meant to say that 2-Xing your money in stock is better than having the capital frozen in the watch.

@@Alex_worth_it My point is that it shouldn’t matter. Doubling 200k doesn’t mean much to people who buy those pieces. If it feels like a lot of money to you then the watch is probably out of your price range. Again, everyone is free to do whatever they want with their money, but I wouldn’t recommend buying a watch that makes “a dent” in your finances. You should instead be wondering “can I have 2 or 3 watches like this, one for my dad and one for my best friend?”, any thoughts around hurting your finances is a cue that it’s probably out of your range. My opinion only, I’m trying to help. Once you got enough money on the side by doubling it in stock / real estate, you’ll be able to afford all the watches you want… including the Patek 5316 ;)
