Glad I found your video I have this same bust sitting on my desk primed but hadn't started painting it, so this was very helpful, because I too love TMNT, started reading the comic waaay back when it was still black and white and a bit violent....LOL.
That’s awesome I’m glad it will help you. I love tmnt too I think we are in the same boat. I’m currently painting more turtles now. Feel free to see them on my Instagram!
If you are planning to paint a 3d print that has much brighter colors would you still prime in black and do a black wash or do you have another technique for more bright cartoony prints vs. Graphic novel type dark characters?
It’s an ink wash. I just got done with a video explaining ink washes that I’m going to be posting this week. Be sure to keep an eye out for it for more info.
Hey bro, did you make a new batch of wash that's darker than you did for the wash tutorial video? Im painting this bust and I like the darkness of the wash you used on this one, but it seems darker than the one you originally showed.
The real achievement is getting this good of a paintjob using Apple Barrel paints. Might I suggest switching to Delta Ceramcoat? Nearly the same price but X2 the quality.
Hi! I actually get that question a lot. I typically use pretty cheap brushes I have a list of everything I use on my Amazon store front. You can see everything here. www.amazon.com/shop/itsmeadmade?listId=2V4UZ00BKUF6S
Thanks!! I printed it with the stock ender 3 pro nozzle at a layer height of 0.08 mm. I have also found printing slow helps a lot. This was printed at 20 mm/s. The prints take a long time but the results are undeniable. Once it’s done I do two coats of a filler primer with no sanding.
I use simple acrylic hobby paints. I actually just finished recording videos explaining my entire process and what I use in a painting 3D prints series. I plan on releasing this week. Keep an eye out for more info in those videos.

just small question what type of liquid is this, that made the painting pop up at 7:10
It’s a ink wash. Just watered down ink. It flows in the cracks and darkens the nooks abs crannies.

Unless I’m mistaken you used either an ender 3 or cr-10, what settings did you use, and how did you get such a smooth finish?

Thats amazing! What kind of infill do you use? How much infill?
Thanks a lot. The infill I used was gyroid.
On video when printing head extruder not move X Y Z? 🤔🙏

beauty, would like to see a slow down on the face and the weathering of the face. thanks for sharing
I’ll be sure to do that on some of the others in the future.

I have so many paint I couldn’t tell you the specific colors I use. They were all cheap hobby paints. I use folk art brand and apple barrel brand.
What setting do you use for your time lapse to capture this without seeing the print head
I use Octoprint print server running octolapse.
Fascinating. How did you setup the video itself? Somehow home x/y after each layer, take the photo, then next layer?
I run my ender 3 pro off a raspberry pi which runs a software called octolapase.
How is your print so seemless
