    Enclomiphene has a short half-life. Some people take it every 3 days (not daily or EOD) so it has time to clear the hormone receptors. This is to reduce side effects.

      What side effects?

    • @fancypants2007
      @fancypants2007 2 месяца назад

      @@VernCrisler I think just that enclomiphene will lose effectiveness if it is taken every day because the receptors never get a break. If this happens, it may be possible to resensitize the receptors by taking a sufficiently long break. A longer break gives more time for enclom to clear the receptors, so a 2-day break will give more clearance than a 1 day break.

    • @Lucas_Jeffrey
      @Lucas_Jeffrey 2 месяца назад +1

      enclomiphene is definitely superior to clomid for men's purposes. zuclomiphene has a super long half-life and is actually an agonist (activator) of the estrogen receptor, which could be a big part of the issues with the eyes (as they have a lot of estrogen receptors)
      If your testosterone is now stable around ~461, then your testes might be healthier than they were before and you may no longer need to take anything. 461 is a decent level that I'd be happy to have. Jeff Nippard is around there.

    • @JonasKuehneMD
      @JonasKuehneMD  2 месяца назад +2

      Enclomiphene does not contain zuclomiphene, which is the second ingredient in clomid. It should therefore not cause ocular problems, however, this needs to be discussed with your primary care physician.

    I am 67 and have been on TRT intermittently for a cycle of 4-5 months in the past.. The last time was the summer after covid becausemy strength in weight training went down considerablly after a 5 month lockdown due to our governeor in MI. I even did free weight dumbell training at home put upon return to the gym my strength was noticelby diminished. After about 4 months on T everything was almost back to normal but not quite. I discontinued about then because my PSA about doubled from 1.3 to 2.6. It did go back down in about 3 months. I did feel much better on TRT. My T levels are about 309 last march 2024. After some research I decided to ask about enclomiphene and was placed on 25mg/qd. The dr was skeptical it would work at my age, as was I also. Now after 5 weeks my T levels are 570. I feel different though on this, a bit moodier and I noticed my sex drive went down for about 1 month. I at first attributed it some minor surgery, cataracts, but more likely the enclomiphene. Its coming back now. Also have not noticed a difference in my weight training as of yet even though its a bit early. Will also have a PSA check in a while to see if its elevated on enclomiphene.

      Not medical advice, of course, but enclomiphene can increase testosterone significantly, sometimes doubling it. I think this would significantly improve your gains at the gym. There are no good long-term studies even at the low-dose is required. Most people do fine on 6.25 mg. Others take 12.5 mg daily. Some people have experimented with taking it every other day. As a rough guideline, I would take a month off every three months or so at least. Again this is not medical advice though.

      Enclomiphene mostly blocks estrogen receptors in the brain, triggering the release of FSH and LH. This in turn will stimulate the testes to make more testosterone. Estrogen production will follow the testosterone increase in appropriate levels.

      HCG can also be used to boost testosterone levels. It works slightly different than Enclomiphene. Sometimes people use both in combination. If hCG increases your tea, counts and sperm count sufficiently then I would just stick with that. If you see that even at optimal, do you still have issues, then I would explore with your doctor if Enclomiphene can be ordered.

      Enclomiphene increases tea by increasing secretion of FSH and LH. When you stop taking it, levels of tea should return to normal baseline, but not below. If you take it after you had been on TRT, it can help to restart the production of testosterone in your testicles. Levels should increase within about two weeks. I have only seen anecdotal data of people taking it every other day. Usually it is prescribed to be taken daily.

      Going off T will cause a period of extremely low T that many people cannot tolerate. Enclomiphene can stimulate your own T production but it will take a bit of time. Enclomiphene does not decrease estrogen, but blocks the estrogen receptor in the brain, tricking the brain to think that levels are low. This results increased secretion of LH and FSH, thereby stimulating the testes to increase testosterone production. Estrogen will then rise in appropriate levels with rising testosterone.

      Thank you for your comment. This looks like a good strategy. Enclomiphene not the production of estrogen, but blocks the receptor in the brain sensing the estrogen level.
      “Enclomiphene works by binding to estrogen receptors in the pituitary gland.1 This action stops the negative feedback that the receptor normally creates and stimulates the production of the hormone GnRH, or gonadotropin. In turn, this hormone stimulates the production of another hormone, follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), and luteinizing hormone (LH).”
      This will increase both the production of testosterone and estrogen. While some people are taking enclomiphene every other day, I do not think that this strategy is needed.

      @@JonasKuehneMD OK so thank you so much for your response, there is always a lot to unravel and I want to know the exact science of what I’m taking down to the smallest detail. So you’re saying is if I were to take my 25 mg of Enclomiphene every day, seven days a week, it would not stop the production of estrogen, correct?
      So far the mixture of Enclomiphene and HCG seems to be a good combination for natural testosterone and estrogen production.

    My endocrinologist didn't even discuss enclomiphine with me and put me straight onto TRT which has significantly boosted my levels. I had low FSH/LH and no pituitary issues but very low T. Is it worth me exploring enclomiphine as an alternative option or perhaps in addition to TRT on a lower dosage? 47 with 2 kids, unlikely to have more.

      Enclomiphene will not give you results as dramatically as trt, but will increase FSH/LH and thereby total testosterone. It will prevent testicular atrophy and will allow you to take breaks from the medication once in a while without dramatic drops in testosterone.

That is very interesting it is not dose dependent. My voice has gotten quite a bit deeper, which might indicate my LH has increased. As for FSH, I’m uncertain. Getting my blood work done tomorrow, will update you.
      I was going to consider MK 677 maybe 1 to 2 mg. However, I’ve taken this before as well. Had such an insane increase in prolactin that I developed a thumb size amount of gynecomastia. Was doing research on cabergolin but I don’t think I’ll want to take it after seeing the side effects. I have to wait 3 months to see an endocrinologist. Do you have any tips for lowering gyno from prolactin that I’m certain is from a prolactin increase given the lactation that wouldn’t require a dopamine antagonist like cabergolin? I’ve been supplementing the usual vitamin B6 not sure if P5P is a step up but I think that is my only next option.
      If I can find a way to keep the prolactin at a normal or lower level then I would love to update you consistently on my bloodwork using mk-677 with enclomiphine. I do think this can help with sleep and a continued use of enclomiphine. Of course SHBG is another thing to look at.

      Enclomiphene lacks the estrogen agonist zuclomiphene and does not directly increase estrogen. It increases FSH and LH and thereby predominantly testosterone. As testosterone increases, estrogen will also increase due to a feedback loop. This increase in estrogen should be physiologically balanced.
