- Japanese are know to make best makeup brushes. They do come at a very high price point. For example, Japanese makeup brushes by Koyudo can go up to $1500 per brush.
And herein we have a lower end luxury makeup brush that we are testing by Shiseido, a Japanese luxury makeup brand. We are looking at Shiseido makeup brush, Hanatsubaki Hake Polishing Face Brush that is supposed to help control the pressure for a smooth and seamless makeup application. It was developed to be used with all makeup textures. This is their four petal uniquely-designed shape and technology to contour to face and buff skin to a flawless finish.
Shiseido has taken a non traditional Japanese approach to create a perfect makeup brush. They have decided to take a different approach from their Japanese counter parts, who hand craft all of their brushes, selecting perfect natural materials. Traditionally you will see individually hand crafted wooden handles that are perfectly balanced for use with any hand. Next, going to the softest bristles that are prized for their silky texture and luminescence, which can only be from goad hair or other hair like fox hair... And, let's not forget the artistry and story of every hand painted brush.
Shiseido, decided to build on that Japanese pride and bring something from technological stand point. Working to create a bristle technology that will apply perfect pressure on the skin and disperse perfect amount of makeup product on the skin.
So now we know why japanese makeup brushes are so expensive. A lot of skill and technology goes into creation of each brush. So let's see how this Shiseido makeup brush performs. Does it deserve to be one of the best Japanese makeup brushes, and how does it compare to some of the American and European top makeup brushes.

I knew this is a re-upload. I personally don’t care. I don’t know why people are getting angry about it. Someone may have missed it and I’m sure she’s gotten new subscribers. Some content creators during the holidays won’t post for a week or two and Milana has consistently given us new content. Putting in an old video to ensure we are entertained isn’t a bad thing. We should be grateful. She doesn’t have to post at all.

I don't really care either but I can see why someone would be annoyed about it. There's no indication to tell the viewer hey this is a reupload, taking a break or what not. So it feels, for a lack of a better term, deceitful. Those people would probably rather she skip a video or 2 before doing a reupload or at least with a reupload let the viewer know so they don't waste time watching a video they've already watched.

I have not seen this one so I am fine with it. Even if I had seen it before I would not care that she reposted. I have gone back and rewatched her posts from the past. She is not the only youtuber that reposts!!! People need to give her a break.
Thank you for explaining the different types of brushes. It's been awhile and it is nice to have the refresher. Styles and products are always changing. Seeing how they work with different products is great to see.

Just bought this brush and I think it’s so so good for applying liquid or cream foundations. I have an older YSL stick foundation that I could barely make it work with a damp sponge, then I try this brush and in a few sweeps it polished my face so good, didn’t see any dry spots at all, was just beautiful. This brush is magic , gives you a natural finish for sure, love it

I dont mind that it hasn’t got a handle (i even like them without) but i would like it to be in rubber or something like that.
I think shiseido is just a amazing brand in general. Thinking out of the box in a beautiful way, not gimmicky.
Their lipsticks and their arched liner is AMAZING and a most have if you use those kind of products
I love a shorter brush personally. The side where you used the shiseido, you have a more airbrush glowing finish. The other side is a little more flat.
I bought this brush when it first came out. Best investment ever. I bought other ones that got hyped but always come back to this brush. ❤️

The brush looks like something I would enjoy using with powder mineral foundation. This kind of no-handle kabukis are also great for people with vision impairment like myself (the handle always prevents me from going close enough to the mirror).
Oh that's interesting! I don't have severe issues with my eyes, but I can see the issue with the long handle in the mirror. I'm also looking for a brush for my mineral foundation. Have you tried this yet?

Maxing picture quality & zooming in… IMO, the red brush side looks so good. The finish is fantastic & airbrushed. Whereas the other side looks kinda dry & flat.👍❤️🤩
I agree with your observation. It is dewy.
On camera...it does look like that side of your face has a more glass like finish with more of a glow, whereas the IT cosmetics brush side looks more Matt...so that's interesting. Anyone else notice this if you own this brush?

Hello from Italy!
I love this brush, but it serves a specific purpose for me. I put my makeup on at home and then drive to work. I keep the brush in my car and use it to gently blend and “polish” the foundation, blush and bronzer products before I go into work. makes my skin look air brushed.

I've had this brush for maybe a year or more, but I didn't realize it was so popular. I really like it, but I wasn't like blown away with it, either. I prefer my Scott Barnes brush or a sponge, personally

Why don’t you try this brush with a product you aren’t too sure about? Like foundation/cream etc. like the KVD creame foundation and see how you feel with the application with this product
Try the Shein hexagonal Kabuki brush!
Or just don’t use SHEIN at all - support better brand. As shiseido

I think this brush is only good for influencers or people who really like the brand. Basically, the next silicone brush.
As for the re-upload… I really don’t care either way. I personally never watched the video. Also, I don’t really watch her for her makeup reviews. I watch her hair reviews and because I like her energy.. Also, I like how she interacts with her husband. I’ve never seen any other beauty channel do that. It’s adorable. I want a relationship like that. 🤭
RUclips is so massive. I’m sure you can find something else to watch while the RUclipsr you are subscribed to goes on vacation for a few days, or up to one week. And if you can’t, then DO A HOBBY. Calm down. It’s not that serious.
I do think open and honest commutation is key, though. So, RUclipsrs should tell their subscribers when their leaving or pre-uploading.
