Baltimore squeegee kids reappear despite mayor's Collaborative, raising local concerns

- As spring is here and warmer weather is on the way, so is the concern for squeegee kids in the city.
On Thursday, FOX45 cameras captured a squeegee kid at the corner of President and Pratt, one of the city's banned locations, based on the mayor's Squeegee Collaborative.

I’m so tired of this.
Get more sleep. There's more stress coming. Quality sleep helps one cope better with stress. Fear is one type of stress response. Also called anxiety.
Its warming up its squeegee kid and dirt bike season lol. The cop car is always sitting right there too they dont give af. They dont even check people sitting in the intersections on the green light everyday so why would they stop this? You cant even get home from work without people blocking intersections.
Scott claims he took care of this problem in the past. Perhaps with 2024 being an election year will motivated to him to act. I voted for this guy when I had faith in him but this is a non-negotiable safety issue for every person subjected to an illegal and often violent extortion scheme.
There is no safety issue with these kids. The bigger issue is the adult panhandlers that occupy the same space.
Violent extortion? Hyperbole much. Those kids are not forcing anyone to give them money. They're smart enough to know this is a numbers game. Don't want their service fine. New customers arrive in one minute.
And exactly what is Scott supposed to do? Patrol around the city by himself looking for squeegee kids?
Do yourself a favor stop watching Fox.

In my opinion folks feel " CAPTIVE " in their cars because they have a captive mindset. Adopt a proactive attitude. Anticipate uncomfortable approaches by squeegee kids. And be ready to take defensive action. If that's not your cup of tea . . . then you shouldn't be driving in areas that offer that type of stress.

@@BuIIet Just looked him up on RUclips. A tragedy. Is there any particular point you wish to make regarding this incident ???? If so go ahead and tell me. Or don't tell me. I can guess. Folks feel captive because their sense of entitlement is being challenged. They assume they should be able to feel safe driving almost anywhere. Clearly no longer a valid assumption. Sometimes only one incident is needed to put fear into folks. Looks like the Reynolds incident was it.

He's an example of why it's not worth "defensive actions". There isn't anything you can do sitting in a car at a red light, especially legally, hence "captive".
Give the troll money and he'll let you pass, without scratching your car or spraying you in the face.
What does this have to do with feeling entitled? Do you think drivers deserve this in some way as a challenge to face their fears or something? You say we shouldn't be driving in these areas like we're tourists going sight-seeing instead of locals just trying to go to work without being extorted.
@@BuIIet I didn't specify what type of defensive actions did i ????? Then don't assume you know what i'm trying to say. Defensive could mean avoiding all areas where such squeegee monsters are likely to lurk. Hard cheese.
@@piehound I assumed that it would be obvious to you that people need to take these streets to commute to work, which is why the extortionists target them. There isn't backroads and detours in downtown Baltimore City.
Who cares? This is what happens in every major city. Be glad they're not robbing you.
