Great band, Enigma! I am glad you reacted to this beautiful band, man. Yes, the drums you've heard is a sample from Led Zeppelin's "When the levee breaks". Great reaction, man. Greetings from Argentina!
Great song that brings back loads of memories for me. In terms of the singers, there are a few on this record, the main vocals are by a guy called Andreas Harde (normally credited as Angel X) and the female spoken voice is a lady called Sandra Cretu (she was married to the guy behind Enigma - Michael Cretu and is a very successful German recording star). The chanting bits of the song are by Dfang and Igay Duana and are part of an Amis chant (native to Taiwan). These chants were sampled from a recording that Michael Cretu got his hands on. Bit of a law case ensued later on as was used with authorisation from Dfang and Igay. Got settled out of court in the end.
Beautiful song. From Enigma you already reacted to Amen, for me the best. If you like Gregorian chant you have Sadeness (for me a moment in time). Thanks
The chant you’re hearing isn’t a a chant at all. Actually it’s a song called “the elders drinking song”. It’s in Taiwanese. It was originally sung by and older man and his wife.
Im sitting here listening with happy tears running down my face❤ Thank you very very much 🎉

I loved that song so much when it came out, that one day I was annoyed. But listening now after all the years brings memories back. Nice.
