Thanks for a great 👍 reaction. This song was released in January of 1994 by the German group, Enigma from their album, Cross of Changes. It is a gorgeous song 🎵 🔥❤️. The filming and cinematography on this is beautiful. It Is my sister’s favorite song and it’s her birthday this month so I’m going to send her this reaction. I am doing well, thank you and I appreciate everything you do. - ☺️👍🎶❤️🎶-Patricia
The hook is sung beautifully by Taiwanese aboriginal singers, the “Amis people chant ("Elders' Drinking Song") is repeated, which opens the song. Difang and Igay Duana, from the Amis, were in a cultural exchange program in Paris in 1988 when their performance of the song was recorded by the Maison des Cultures du Monde and later distributed on CD. The producer of Enigma, Michael Cretu, later obtained the CD and proceeded to sample it. In addition, the drum beat of the song was sampled from the Led Zeppelin song "When the Levee Breaks", played by John Bonham.” from Wikipedia That drum 🥁 beat is hypnotizing. -Patricia 😎🙌🎶🔥👍
For nearly 30 years I've played this entire CD start to finish at bedtime, maybe once or twice a week, when I'm chilling with a candle burning - quietly. It's heaven for me. It's one of my favorite things in life. I'm so grateful you listened to something so close to my heart, Teez. Seeing this man & woman's life go all the way from elderly to birth is just so beautiful. ❤ Sadness Part 1 is definitely next. 🙌 Amazing! Beautiful!
When I used to visit my Grandfather in a care home who had Alzheimers I would play this song everytime on the way back and I smiled and cried the whole time. It's a song that sticks with me until the end. I miss that man more every day now its hard to listen to it brings back so much memories for me. Rest in peace Jim until we meet again old man.
This begins with the old man's death. It shows his life backwards to let us see what an amazing life he had. The indigenous chanting in the song is Taiwanese and not Native American. Here are the lyrics for you:: Lyrics Love Devotion Feeling Emotion Don't be afraid to be weak Don't be too proud to be strong Just look into your heart my friend That will be the return to yourself The return to innocence The return to innocence And if you want, then start to laugh If you must, then start to cry Be yourself don't hide Just believe in destiny Don't care what people say Just follow your own way Don't give up and use the chance To return to innocence That's not the beginning of the end That's the return to yourself The return to innocence That's return to innocence The two singers were Kuo Ying-nan and Kuo Hsiuo-chu. It was written by Michael Cretu is a Romanian-German musician, singer, songwriter, and producer. He gained worldwide fame as the founder and musician behind the German musical project Enigma, formed in 1990.
You know what I absolutely LOVE about your reaction is you actually let the song play so you can experience it in full. When other "reactors" chop these songs up in 9000 pcs its such a let down and they seem to know exactly where to stop them kinda showing off that they have definitely heard it before. Ive heard it a million times cause it love it but I enjoyed watching you hearing it new, that was cool man, thanks.
I was 10 when this came out. I miss the 90s!!!!! Best hip hop, best electronic music, and like this tune, alot of cultural cross over in the popular charts, which was needed!
The woman's voice is song by Michael Cretu's wife Sandra from Germany she sang (I'd never be) Maria Magdalena . They live and have there own studio on Ibiza where they make most of al the music of Enigma.
Important song in my life, and obviously I'm not the only one. There are times when my youth almost seems like it happened to someone else. But I just can't seem to get past it, I know that I live in the past too often. It's just a sad nostalgia I guess.
And my brother I thank you for loving that video that was one that brought me back from the years it made me not want to do things that I did and I wouldn't do them again
Awwww yes I use to listen to this in the early 90s with my room dark besides my black light on as I stare at my black light posters of mushrooms tf is wrong with me lol mushroom posters
DO YOU TRULY UNDERSTAND THIS VIDEO, THIS REPRESENTS THE CIRCLE ⭕️ OF LIFE , THE FRUIT 🍎 REPRESENTS CHILDREN 👦 BEING BORN ONLY TO GET OLD AND RETURN TO BE REBORN 😊😊😊🙏🙏🙏🙏😊
I would sit in the Express store as my wife tried on clothes. This music was playing in a pretty store with pretty woman walking around. Never understood why guys hated shopping....
Have the CD this is on & listen often. I once asked a Native American friend about the chant, but she said it has no translation, it is simply reverence for the spirit world that's all around us. Would that we could All return to innocence.✌
ruclips.net/video/6oHGUr6HEow/видео.html&ab_channel=Bafagu2 Because the chorus chant is actually a sampling of a recording by an elderly couple from Taiwan.
Enigma use sample this is not all original. Fact Check the Drum sample from Lez Zeppelin "From the Levee Break" song and the Chant is from the Aboriginal Taiwanese Elder Couple. Look it up. I like the song; but I don't like when they don't give credit to the original.
@@TeezMcGee i listened to it repeatedly when it came out. Driving from Austin Tx to Daytona Beach Fl for spring break in 1991. ONE SONG the whole way. And im still not tired of it.
@@TeezMcGee Maybe when you do the video, you can give me a shout out! That would make my week. Also, you should hit me up (email is my name, first name middle initial only last name, @gmail) about a cool idea I have....daily news with 2 stoners as news anchors. We do all the stuff you see on local news..... And now time for the weather. (looks out the window, then looks back to the camera) Yeah, Its too damn hot out there... Comedy gold! I listen to mostly rock and heavy metal but all my true favorite songs are weird songs like this from Enigma I believe music is powerful and can change people and the world... For good or bad.. And right now music has been weaponized against us.. Play this song over a loud speaker every night in the ghettos.. Watch the crime rates drop... I believe it.
The group, also known as Enigma, allegedly plagiarized and stole the song Return to Innocence from an Aboriginal Taiwanese Farmer. This farmer was the writer and composer of the song. The original title is "Elders Drinking Song" by Difang. I was disappointed when I came across this information this afternoon. Enigma lost an audience member here.
sadeness, mea culpa, return to innocence, eyes of truth, age of lonliness, beyond the invisible..all his biggest singles are centered around sampling international religious chant/folk music..it's horrible he never gave credit to the original and let ppl know about the great music out there and misled ppl

When I first heard this song I thought that part was perhaps a Native American chant so I was surprised to find out where it actually came from.

When Enigma used to come on at the dance halls back in the 90's...my gods man. Absolute fire. Try out Mea Culpa down the road; reaction or not.

Enigma; my God, bringing me back to the club, dancing in a trance to their song Sadeness 💛
I remember when they gave this cassette in a McDonalds happy meal.
I used to play this album over and over.
Remember this tune…the video was played to death. Been a long time…was a Big Hit at the time of release.

Because the chorus chant is actually a sampling of a recording by an elderly couple from Taiwan.
It’s not Native American, it’s Taiwanese.
Originally from Taiwan indigenous by the name of difang and igay duana (a married old couple who passed away 2002) respectively
I love this track too.

hey teez, did you ever do "Sadeness"?
I don’t think so, at least not yet

@@TeezMcGee the lyrics are way screwed up as well. A song in French about the Marquis de Sade and his sexual tortures, hence the name "Sade"-ness.

Not a single comment about how the video is in reverse.
Deep Forest - "Sweet Lullaby" ruclips.net/video/lIF5EEneWEU/видео.html is similar type of song that came out in the 90's and was a big hit ..
