I wonder why Jaromir never went with Jagrova on his jersey and as his name, instead of shortening it to Jagr. I know actors are asked by their managers to change or shorten their names, but why would anyone ask Jagr to do it, it's a mystery to me. Maybe Jaromir has told why in an interview?
No, he really is called Jagr, he didn't do anything with his name. "ova" is a common suffix of female surnames in Czechia (lots of Slavic countries in fact). It is not always the case, but mostly is. He is Jagr, she is Jagrova - common practice, and it is the same surname.
