Sid's acknowledgement of Shesterkins ploy to "fire himself up" or "get into the game ", is world class. Perfect explanation, he reads the game and the emotions of the game. Incredible hockey mind.
I already knew this but man he just keeps showing us all why he’s a top 3 player of all time! He’s not even near being done! He has a good 5 more seasons left!
@@JackBirdbathdefinitely will go down as one of the top 10..I would still rank Orr, Gretzky, Lemieux, Lafleur, Dionne, Bossy in the players careers I saw all ahead of him still..folks that seen the original 6 would also argue Howe, Richard and Harvey as well..but in my lifetime watching hockey Crosby is a top 10 to ever play for sure even though he had only one 50 goal season..Oilers/Rangers fans of course would might argue Messier as well
After the Penguins won their cup and after all those crazy playoff rounds against one another I was actually happy to watch the rival Caps raise the cup. Felt like a good end to the rivalry!
@tylerstephenson8886 I'm hoping to see another playoff round or 2 between them in the next few years. It would be great for the game in general and even the players. I'm sure the rivalry will feel alive and well if it did. Fans from both teams seem to make the 3:30 hour trip either way when they play each other and that helps the rivalry out too. I mean let's be honest, who wants to go to Philly to watch a road game?! On that note the one thing that the Caps and Pens fans always agreed upon is this, Flyers suck!!! Anytime a player can break one of the great ones records is great to see! Again congrats to Sid!
People tend to identify greatness by comparison to others. Crosby, like many others has proven greatness on his own terms since his first game in the league. And he still has a lot in the tank.
I think the question from the journalist about who to respond first is a perfect example of how to approach an athlete and ask him about that kind of question. Great job!
Not a Pitts fan , actually quite the opposite, NYR fan , but always respected Crosby’s humility and has a hockey fan , appreciate what guys with his skill brings to the game
He is such a great person, teammate, and ambassador for the sport and still the best 200 feet player in the world. He deserves every accolade and record he ties or breaks. Congratulations Sidney Crosby.
Crosby won 2 Harts and Art Ross, probably would have won few more if not for some injuries but Howe won 6 of each while being much more physical. The Mt Rushmore of hockey is still Orr-Howe-Gretzky-Lemieux, I’d say Crosby’s right up there with anyone else though.
@@cerd6292 He's the goat of his era, just like Wayne was the goat of his era, and McDavid will most likely be the goat of his era. Sports are too hard to compare over the generations, games change too much to make fair comparisons.

No one will pass Gretzky's point record ever. Ovechkin may pass his goal record. But no one is touching that point record. Not even if McDavid played out of his for the next 10+ years. Wayne had almost 3000 points. Even Jagr wasn't ever close.

He's 36, has 37 goals on a less than stellar team this year. Simply amazing. I hope he gets to 40.
Same here! He would have 2k pts by then if no injuries
39 now!

Lets be real, his points in the lowest scoring era ever are way more impressive than gretzky's in the 80s. (Yes I mean the 2010-16 era)
He is really the second best player ever, but not after Gretzky (or Lemieux), after McDavid. But McDavid still needs a Cup to cement his legacy.
Scoring was pretty darn low in Gretzky’s last 3 seasons.
so humble RIGHT !!! he is great in his own way
He has a legit shot to pass Jagr and maybe even hit 2k points
