- Did you know Botox can be used to reduce the size of the calf muscles? By injecting Botox into the gastrocnemius muscle, this procedure gives the calves a more sleek and feminine look by atrophying the muscle. Most patients will typically need two treatments to see results, but the results will typically last several months. For more information on this or any of our other procedures, visit cincinnatiskinandlaser.come or give us a call at (513) 985-9885.

If you lose weight, do your legs lose as well?
What is permanent solution for that?
If you’re an active person (running, roller skate, rock climbing etc) would you recommend this?
Yes it could still be an option.
Is it possible to have a numbing anesthesia before the procedure?
You can but it’s not necessary.
Sorry to be a pain again, but if you get Botox in the calves, does that mean the size is permanently reduced? Or can the calf grow again once the Botox wears off, and/ if you start exercising again?
Yes, Botox helps atrophy the muscle but the muscle can be rebuilt with exercise when the Botox has worn off.
Hi, can we have pics before and after? My calves are much bigger than hers :(
This procedure works extremely well and is very consistent! Sorry for not having posted a before and after on this patient yet..but will do so as soon as we can.
@@cincinnatiskinandlaser thanks so much for your reply.
how long till they wear off? there’s no chance they’ll be permanent after a certain number of sessions is reached?
Hi, can someone under the age of 18 get this procedure and are there any chances of blood clots?
Yes one can get this under 18 years of age with parental consent. There are no risks of blood clotting that we are aware of.
Any known health side effects?
Not that I am aware of. There are certain patients who are not candidates for neurotoxins in general.
Hello. I was just wondering, can calf Botox be used to stop fasciculations in calves?
Hi James. That is a great question. Yes, Botox can help with fasciculations or muscle twitching. One of the first indications for Botox was blepharospasm (fasciculations of eyelid muscles).
@@cincinnatiskinandlaser brilliant. Basically, I have been diagnosed with benign fasiculation syndrome. Both of my calves constantly twitch. In your professional opinion, would Botox be a suitable option? And how effective would it be? Thank you
@@JamesSmith-ds2hi I think it’s worth a try. It should reduce or eliminate the muscle twitching well!
@@cincinnatiskinandlaser thank you very much. I might pay you guys a visit
@@cincinnatiskinandlaser also, is there a chance that the twitching might go away completely, after the Botox wears off?
I have extremely tight calves due to toe walking and running will this help me get flexibility back in my calves so my heels can touch the floors
I think it could help! With a try!
How much does this cost & how often must it be done?
Hello. This procedure can cost $1200 and upwards depending on the thickness and strength of muscle and hence how much neurotoxin is required.
Hello Dr where are you located?
Hi! Are located in Cincinnati, OH. Our office address is 9505 Montgomery Road. To see us as a patient you can call us at 513-985-9885 or email us at info@cincinnatiskinandlaser.com
Hello Dr. Gupta, how much Botox units do you inject per calf? and what is your dilution? (in 3ml?)... looks very very nice with the multiple injections... greetings ;-)
The amount of neurotoxin varies but usually no less than 50 units and more depending on thickness and size of muscle/area being treated. Dilute according to how much area it needs to be spread over.
I’m very interested
I did 2 times shots but my calves still big and I have cramp
@@noellekouadio6867 it never worked for you then?
Can we use Botox for double chin too?
Botox can relax bands in the neck. If there is fat, kybella injections, Coolscultping, liposuction, facetite, Ultherapy, RF microneedling, exilis ultra, or Emface submental would be better choices.
Hello. Does this mean that the calf muscle won’t be able to contract?
That’s a good question. You will still be able to use the calf muscle and it will contract. Botox will reduce just some of the function that is hyperactive and contributing to a more massive muscle. Part of the muscle with atrophy with Botox but you will have enough remaining muscle, tone and functionality.
@@cincinnatiskinandlaser basically I am having muscle spasms in both of my calves. It’s happened constantly whenever I am at rest. I want an option so that the muscles stop contacting completely. Would this work?
How long dose it last

How much the 50 shots per leg
Ok
Mam how much size is reduced after injection??
Hi Sarju, the reduction percentage will vary. The goal is to reduce it to the size one wishes and that can be accomplished with the right amount of Botox. It may be accomplished in a single session or you may need multiple sessions over time to get to the desired result.
@@cincinnatiskinandlaser thank you mam for the information how much it will cost per session??

Is that permanent ?
Hi Ashley. The calf reduction helps atrophy the muscle. In that way it can be permanent. One may need maintenance treatments to keep the calf muscle reduced.
