This is so cool, i suggest making it a bit more robust maybe with four points of tension, and a slightly larger segmentation between the eyes that hold the string, maybe a cord in the middle of it all wrapping around the entire leng of the arm, adding rigity, and a cord for a claw mechanism. But this is really cool.
Super cool! What if iyou try using a flexible cables as a center piece instead, you know the "fat" corrugated ones which appeared around 2005 and are used for decoration and creating curves, that way it might be possible to put another string inside them to articulate claw at the end of the tenticle 🤔
It is possible. The center would need to be hollow to pass another tendon. Then you could pull a claw on the tip closed. I don't think it would work with Lego but 3d printing and some tube would work.
@@MaxBrix also though, you could just have the 2 "hand" tendons loose enough that the arm can move without interfering with them. The trade off would be that the hand would take a long time to respond
I was thinking 1 hand tendon. If it isn't centered it would bend the arm. But 2 could be symmetrical and if they can be loose enough it might work. I'm glad I haven't taken it apart. WAIT.. I just realized I could pass a tendon through the springs. Thanks, for making me think about this. I might need to make V2 now. I wanted a claw, now it seems it might not be too hard.
Bro that's absolutely amazing
This deserve more love
So freaking genius man! Boston dynamics need you

Cool work

Could you add a claw on the end that opens and closes?

@@MaxBrix I look forward to (hopefully) seeing it work!

can you make is look like GLaDOS
