No hate brother. 1) bacon fat and butter... do not use olive oil at high temperatures! 30+ yrs working in kitchens, bakeries & restaurants (not any more though). Use your old bacon grease filter out the bacon pieces etc. and right before you out in the fish, throw don't that butter right quick. Slap your filets on. Squirt with fresh lemon juice. Season... Always use a spatula, fish flipper my bro. Even if it sticks. And it will when you least expect it. You got whole filets. Squirt fresh lemon in the at side,Season & once the sides/edges are white, slap a pat of butter on top. Cover with an old brownie pan,sheet pan for maybe 5 minutes. Eat up! Keep up the great content /work @ Fishing with smalls !!!
I love pan fishing.. there’s honestly something nostalgic about a cork going under that excites me. I take me bag to fishing with my dad, and that’s what I take my kids to do. I used to do it so much, that when I went to sleep at night, all I’d see if an orange bobber bobbing in the water. It’s a thing of beauty

Hey, Smalls, what's up! So you asked for some advice and I may have an idea for you to try. Start out by getting your seasoned Blackstone super hot. Dip the fillet in melted butter. Then combine the blacked season, salt pepper, garlic, onion, paprika mix into a bag to make a rub. Pack the mixed seasoning onto fish all over to make crust. Flash fry 3 minutes ish per side. Butter, lemon, garlic, and finely diced onion. Wrapped up in aluminum foil. Set that on the grill for a bit and enjoy. Keep it simple. Great video. 🤠👍
I grew up Crappie fishing so anytime you do any kind of pan fishing video you're getting a like from me dude. I don't think people watch your videos just for the type of fish you are targeting. Worms always go to the bottom so if you put the lid on and turn the container upside down when you pick it up and open the lid they’ll be on top. Keeps you from having to look through the dirt

I love fishing ultra light everything......the kind that makes a Zebco 33 look like a deep sea rig. Loosen the drag just a little and have a blast catching bluegills some of the funniest fish to catch. As far as the cook.....deep fry always. That's the way to eat fish....deep fried and smothered in tarter sauce.
Cool video! Fly fishing for panfish is one of my favourite pastimes. Here are my go to flies: black bh crystal bugger (size 10), copper john (various sizes), foam ant (small sizes like 14 guarantee more hookups) and squirmy wormy (size 10). Gear recommendation: 3-6 weight 9ft rod (3 and 4 weight is more fun but 5-6 weight is more versatile for possible bass action), floating line or intermediate slow sinking, 5x nylon tapered leader.

Never cooked a pan fish but I am a believer in "less is more". I do cook up some catfish on a bbq sometimes, and I have learned to only flip once maybe twice if necessary. That stops the minced fish from happening. Can't wait for your next adventure. Peace
Tonight I cooked tuna for the first time… I seared the tuna steaks sliced it and made tacos with Russian dressing broccoli slaw and orange bell peppers… they were 🔥
A little butter on the grill and a melted butter to brush over them. A little olive oil with the butter on the grille. And you used way to much of some of the seasonings lol. Most i know dont use blackenjng seasoning either. Garlic powder, onion powder, creole seasoning,salt and black pepper or a pepper blend. Maybe some hot pepper if you like really spicey. You brush on the melted butter and then flip and put on the other side while cooking too. I can cook fish but dont eat a lot if fish 😂.
I live on small 3 acre pond that drains out into the ocean I catch these little panfish all the time and it's a blast. The only thing you did wrong on the cook was over seasoned , but in your defence they didn't have tops

Wife and I live on a small man made lake in nw Arkansas. I mainly bass fish but last weekend I ran to wally world and grabbed the red worms. Caught 19 shellcrackers and 3 large pansized blue cats. Helluva fish fry and 2 more in the freezer. Sometimes it's about getting your feed on smalls

Us ladies only get good at cooking because we have guinea pigs ( our husbands lmfao) to try anything new with. Cooking is all trial and error my friend and because we all love good tasting food we never make the same mistakes twice! You know better for next time.
