    It's high time a serious thought is given to ecological balance. After all the world belongs to all species.

    Nearly 15 years ago , when any of our buffalo was going to gave birth ,we used to stay awake all night to scare off wolfs , but today we are doing the same to scare off dogs

      You are wrong, its because of that 500 yr history these animals are still living.... In other countries the religions teach no respect for animals as a result they are extinctv there... With 2.7% land India holds 7% biodiversity of the world it is so because animals are respected in that 500 (pardon 5000) yr history

      @@dragfang6856 even now we r doing a good job (can do better tho). Quoting from the economic survey
      "India has the tenth largest forest area in the world. In 2020, India ranked third globally in
      increasing its forest area during 2010 to 2020. The forests covered 24 per cent of India’s
      total geographical, accounting for two per cent of the world’s total forest area in 2020.
      "ndia’s forest cover has increased by more than three per cent during 2011 to 2021"
      Few more i can remeber are - The Countries containing tigers (India, nepal , bhutan, etc total of 13 countries) have pledged to double the tiger population by 2022 of the 2006 levels . India has done it in 2018 itself!
      India has the 4th largest renewable energy sector in the world (we were not in top 10 a few years ago, we grew rapidly)
      India is one of tge only few countries and (probably only big country, i mean china , us , brazil etc)that has achieved the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) of the paris agreement.
      I can go on , i do agree we can do better.
      But too many people just blindly comment on our history, i am repeating again if it wasnt for that nature centric history which is different from the anthropocentric mindset of the west . We too would have wrecked our wildlife, period. People in India still pray and respect elephants and tigers even tho ocassionally they run into conflict with them. Same thing if a wolf atfacks someone in the west all wolves would b killed

    The Pale-Footed Wolf (Canis pallipes) is a species of dog native to Southwestern Asia, there are two recognized subspecies of pale-footed wolf, the Arabian Wolf (Canis pallipes arabs) and the Indian Wolf (Canis pallipes pallipes), the Pale-Footed Wolf (Canis pallipes) is surprisingly the closest living relative of the oceanian wild dogs, which are both the New Guinea Singing Dog (Canis hallstromi) and the Dingo (Canis dingo).

    I think we should stop focussing on a single species from now on. We are repeating this everytime. Tigers are low!! It's all about tigers. Antelopes are less..Shift the focus to antelopes. Now, it's wolves. But, they don't live like that. They are interdependent in an ecosystem right. We, humans, are able to study the species but our inherent inability to connect with nature is not allowing us to conceive a wholesome understanding of biological web as a whole. One species reduces it's number, we all panic for sometime and then we forget. Isn't it time to correct the ecosystem as a whole. There were incidents when people revived a dying lake to make all the animals around it to flourish. They introduced a pack of wolves in a Canadian national park to correct the whole ecosystem. I am no expert in this field. It's just my personal opinion.

    • @AnishAaravOO1
      @AnishAaravOO1 2 года назад +2

      You are correct... We need protected Ecosystems untouched by Humans wherever possible in all states ,
      And Big life size Zoos like the Australian Zoo to study these ecosystems better and Animal rehabilitation.
      Sad ,the govt.🤦 Is just busy clearing Ecological Hotspots for Development and Infrastructure projects.
