I had the original black and white bottle when i was a youngster and really miss it. This has made me very nostalgic for it Lex, i need me a new bottle.
First and foremost, thanks for reviewing Jazz (and the many other "obscure" frags you've covered). Can't find jack on this one! It's been a while since your video. Do you still prefer Jazz over Live Jazz? I'm moving to the hot, American Southwest soon and I'm trying to decide which one to get...or do I just need both! I WISH those prices you mentioned were still available but these have gone up significantly. Which is all the more reason to narrow these two down to the one that's more versatile (keeping longevity and projection in mind. I don't much care for frags with whimpy projection, Oh yeah, I'm THAT GUY!)
Its to bad they stopped making live jazz, that was a great warm weather scent, the original jazz from what i remember had a certain fecal note to it and was disgusting.
Each to their own with this one I guess, it isn't for everybody's nose. To some it can smell a little dated, especially compared to Live Jazz. I'm not sure what one I prefer, it's a tough choice, I'm also planning to get Van Cleef & Arpels Tsar which people say is similar to Jazz but some prefer it. So hopefully will have a video on that! Thanks for commenting!
It's not the old school feel that bothers me. Live Jazz to my nose has more presence and on my skin at least, lasts longer. I just find Jazz a little anemic, plus there's this waxy oiliness in the drydown which I can't warm to. Lex Ellis
I agree with Live Jazz I notice it more also, some people like to slate Live saying it's not too complex, I think it's simplicity is part of it's charm. Jazz is a weird one though, my mother hated it and said it smelled of "Liquorice" haha so I was like "...huh...ok?" haha
my brother had the original bottle in the 80s along with zino...still have the memories...80s was the BEST decade imo

Glasgow patter.
^ He got it! :)
Absolute chick killer when I was 16+ (1991+)...
Some people might perceive the anise note (star anise) as liquorice. I enjoyed your review. Jazz is classy and distinctive.
Definitely, I love this scent along with Live Jazz for sure!

I liked both but Live Jazz was a GEM!
An incredibly dislikeable scent
