Thanks, both videos are very helpful.

Yup, looks just like how we did them before. And still do. I've tried doing the fancy "square to round" breaks in the corners, boxes, and just about everything else. This one looked simple, and it's gonna work. Now, go get that 🏁🏁🏁

Great job on your build this year man, truly talented fabricator, I've been a fabricator for 30 years. Not only that, you seem like a genuinely nice and kind man, exactly what the world is missing out on these days. On a side note, the little I saw, Rachel is much more in control of her race car, and has made significant improvements. Good luck this year, I truly expect to see you guys take some checkered flags.
    Respectfully
    Whitt 👍

What are you soaking the radiator in

I usually just use Simple Green for everything. As far as Alkaline detergents go, it's about the strongest I feel safe using all the time. Some stuff like Castrol Superclean will smoke the skin off your hands if you get it on you!

This has very similar geometry to my road course thirdgen Camaro. Thanks for sharing your work.
Question for you: Why dont you guys run thermal clutch fans? Thats what I'm running on mine but I'm wondering if I need to go with one of these race flex fans you guys run.

P.s. what thickness aluminum do you recommend for this? Forgive me if you mentioned it in the video and I missed it.

I'm not sure a thermal clutch would hold up to the constant 7k or more rpm lap after lap. That and the rotating weight it would add is likely why you rarely see them in dirt track racing. Oh and I am just using simple 0.040" body aluminum for this.

A chin spoiler under the radiator about 4 inch’s down from frame horn to frame horn will create a high pressure to force air thru your radiator.

I did something similar on the crush when it was running gas. The new was rock solid at 190 last night so we are good to go.

Do u not run any opening in the grill for air to the radiator

No sir never on dirt. thats a disaster

@@DIRTRACELIFEI use a FSR double pass radiator with wide fin spacing on dirt with a square opening shroud. Jones pulleys and have the lower part of grill open. Six layers of 1/4" screen. No air duct in front of the radiator and have never seen 200°. We don't have heavy tracks around here anymore unfortunately. They have all gone grandma slick.

Would the rules let you run an electric fan?

    • @DIRTRACELIFE

No sir, None of the Stock Car Classes in my area allow electric fans.

The reason you're over heating is you are using a 3 blade fan. You need at least a 5 or 6 blade fan.

Unfortunately this is an area we must dissagree on.

Yeah those 3 blade jones fans are legit, fans shrouds are mostly a must on dirt cars. Good luck Jason!
