Far, FAR too many FAB channels have a primary focus on cracking packs or finance. I want this game to succeed *as a game* first and foremost, and the more content I see like this and your Blitz Upgrade series, the more confident I am that maybe this game has some staying power. Kudos.
Thank you Justin! Greatly appreciate your feedback and we feel the same way. While we will always touch on the market and the state of the game etc, we LOVE playing this game! We jammed 2 skirmish events this weekend on the same day - over 9 hours of FaB and it was GLORIOUS!
This is the most informative FAB video I have seen since I started FAB. THIS IS THE CONTENT I WAS LOOKING FOR. No finance, no rambling. Thank you, subbed!

@@HometownTcg Watching this as a new player looking to transition from magic and this is still a rare video that offers solid concise information that can be used immediately it feels like and my suggested videos are loaded with FaB content
"Use your weapon!" *cries in Ranger* Fantastic video, gents. Definitely some of the best FAB video content out there. I love how concise and energetic these vids are!
I was playing Lexi in the prerelease and heck I ran out of cards while my pponent just used their weapons all the time. Dang, I guess going for min. legal deck size is not as good as it is in magic XD
Great, great Content guys. Love that it is about the GAME not the price, no boxopening and so on. All presented in a charming way, not to long but clear and helpful. Keep it up, FaB needs you!
Thank you! We freakin' love playing this game and while the finance side of things is interesting, we believe the core of fab is (suprise surprise) playing the game! Welcome to out community!
It's taken me three months of playing to learn these lessons the hard way. 100% agree with all these and great to wrap your head around these points early.

Just the kind of content I was looking for! Thanks, guys! Now I just need to find a way to buy more cards (and get them shipped to Brazil without spending way more on taxes than on the product itself).
Came across this game do to a commission I need to make for someone but after seeing the artwork now I’ve been figuring out how to play this game. Such a cool game, with some amazing artwork.
@@HometownTcg thanks and your videos have been super helpful so far, I think I kinda understand the basics. Also subbed to your channel keep up the great work!
The hardest thing for me is getting enough reps in before events! My nearest LGS is a 1.5 hour drive. Where can I find other players who want to improve their game by playing one game a few nights a week? I'm EST based btw :) Thanks for the content! Really solid advice. Most of the time if I'm sporting the Spring Tunic I'll go first just so I can have that advantage (no matter how small). But normally I do struggle with knowing when to go first or second!
We totally feel you. How many games have you been able to play so far? We have been seeing more and more comments pop up like this recently, so we want to do what we can to fix this problem. We actually have something HUGE planned to solve this issue, but we're still hammering out details atm. We think it's the missing piece for the community to really be able to play together. We'll be announcing it in our upcoming live stream event! Just be on the lookout. It's coming in the next 1-2 weeks.
@@HometownTcg that sounds exciting! Looking forward to it :) I’ve played a good number of Armory and Skirmish events. My foundational understanding of the game is quite solid, enough so that in order to take my game to the next level I need weekly practice to work on some of the things mentioned in your video :)
I play with Ranger only, so if I don't use my weapon, I won't be able to play my arrows! hahaha About be first in the game, you guys are correct. For example, for me, its really good to be second, because I can activate my voltaire in the opponent first turn and add 2 cards in my arsenal and draw a new hands with arrows ready to show in the second turn! Nice work!
Thanks! Josh actually comes from an mtg background as well - a lot of your game skills will translate well to Flesh and Blood! Welcome to the community and let us know how your adventure into fab goes!
I'm learning to play this game and coming from MtG I love it. I still play Commander, but FaB could be a nice second card game. Definitely looking forward to getting this game into my FLGS!
Welcome to the community! If you are running rhe heavy aura list definitely! If your a hesrld focused deck you want to think of yourself as an aggro deck and go second and get your foot on the gas!
Definitely don't use all cards to defend with no plan. If you can't attack, your opponent doesn't need to defend, which leaves them with a full hand to attack. It could snowball with them doing more damage that you feel like you need to defend, and never give yourself an opportunity to be offensive. Sometimes you gotta take some damage.
100%. There needs to be a reason to do that so it definitely depends on the situation. Normally, you don't want to, but in games against Katsu and Dorinthea, often times you have to block with all cards in hand a few turns during the game.
I got a little confused on the explanation of DPC. Particularly how 4 damage from your weapon is like 8 damage from two separate cards. Can you help me understand what you mean?
DPC is a term we use internally for Damage Per Card. When you pitch one card to do an attack for 6, you have used 2 cards (the pitch AND the attack) so you are averaging 3 DPC. However when you swing with a weapon for 4 damage pitching 1 card, that card is worth 4 damage, thus 4 DPC!
I am playing Prism and I have Footsteps and a Lumanris but I am struggling against Bravo and Brute. What should be the game plan? All my attacks get Phantasmify and I can't block their huge attacks
Those are hard matchups. You're only safe bet to attack is with dream weavers or herald of triumph for big attacks. Besides that, you have to play more defensive and rely on auras to beat them. It's tough!
I struggle with playing have to hand. I try to play Prism and end up blocking myself to death. I feel she needs to threaten 7+ damage per turn out she will fall behind too quickly.
We have all been there before! Playing hand to hand is a hard habit to break. If you can keep yourself healthy until you are able to get your engine going whether it be with shields or a huge pummel turn, you will find yourself in a good spot
My #1 tip is to not play against people who have a history of cheating previously in other TCG events resulting in bans. Also never trust a 15-0 run. Also learn to take advantage of new judges and manipulate them into calling in your favor while calling against your opponent.
The Real Master Lesson . Have a goal to save roughly Five Thousand Dollars. Then, you can use the best deck with it's best cards! Thank God for sealed format in this game xD
im honestly hoping my lgs starts doing FnB...i want to get more into this but they just want fnm and such...flesh and blood is a cheaper and more impactful game for rpg players
Hopefully they do! We say try to get a friend and just play some games at the lgs. Then offer to teach them or run events, and say you'll buy cards from them. If you do that enough and they see the commitment, that's when they would most likely start carrying it
I disagree slightly with your first point. I think you missed a key component of going first every time, and that's not allowing your opponent to go first. If you're against one of the decks that has an amazing first turn, like chane or dash, you always go first, no matter what. You do not want them to get the advantage, which is why 99% of the time I feel like if you can go first, you do. I do however think that every other point you made about going first was correct, I'm just not sure there are very many situations where it's a bad idea to go second.
This is a great point! As our video was centered more around the newer player, we wanted to really stay focused on some simpler more generic pieces of advice, that were easy to remember. This does not make your point incorrect, in fact, you are very correct in our opinion, but we would consider this line of thinking the "next step" in player improvement. Thank you tons for your feedback - always beneficial to hear a well written thought process!
Lol in a Herald Aggro deck it definitely sucks, but have you tried it in a control build for constructed yet? That's where it seems to shine. We need some more testing, but it could have potential there for sure. It does work in sealed and draft though. That's for sure!
Far, FAR too many FAB channels have a primary focus on cracking packs or finance. I want this game to succeed *as a game* first and foremost, and the more content I see like this and your Blitz Upgrade series, the more confident I am that maybe this game has some staying power. Kudos.
