Hello Ted, I really liked the video you made, thank you very much. Thank you very much for the information about optional channels on stamps. I believe I will find some of them great. Keep up the good work on your interesting channel, and I promise to send more Israel stamps real soon. This time new with tabs. Hope you liked them too
@@tedtalksstamps You can always catch me on twitter as "The Danish Philatelist" if you want to talk about stamps from Denmark or Israel. I share the progression of my collection of stamps from Denmark and Israel.
Nice selection, Ted. I was surprised to see the astronaut and zeppelin issues among the Romanian stamps as these were among the first that I bought in a bulklot when I started collecting in the 90s.
Thank you for sharing another great video Ted. I use a product called Un-Du Adhesive Remover to remove USA stamps from backing paper. I Place 4-5 drops on the reverse of the stamp and wait about 30 seconds. The stamp peels off fairly easily. I let the stamp dry a few minutes then dust the still very sticky back with talcum powder ( I would avoid organic products like corn starch). I reserve this sort of rigmarole for only very special US stamps that are near and dear to my heart. lol
If a set is more than I want to pay, I will take a look at the cto and decide how it works with the design. I was looking at some first day cancelled Germany Bunds - the cancels were elaborate and centered! obfuscating the stamp beneath.
@@fishplateowner for me, as with many other collectors, the placement and heaviness of the cancel is as important as whether a mint stamp is Never Hinged. Unless it’s a nice neat socked-on-the-nose postmark, cancels that obscure the face of the stamp are much less desirable. That’s why, in listings for classic used stamps, especially British monarch definitives, dealers will often point out “face-free” cancels.
An admin in one of my Facebook stamp collecting groups advises using a soak in lighter fluid (ventilated and without heat/flame, of course!) for getting self-adhesive stamps off paper.
Hi Ted, Abba Eban was not only ambassador but Israeli Foreign Minister, and Deputy Prime Minister. He was born in South Africa to Lithuanian Jewish parents (Wikipedia)! I have Golda Meir used stamp with tab. There is fantastic 3 stamp series of Israel issued in 2013, 100 anniversary of aviation in Israel.

Sir Can you please tell me from where do you buy all these stamps ? Is it possible from online? I am looking to buy these kind of stamps of different countries in a large quantity. Please guide me.
Yes, you can buy online on a site such as HipStamp, delcampe.net, and any of the ebay country sites. Or check google for the websites of dealers. On any of these sites, just search for worldwide kiloware stamp mixtures.
@@tedtalksstamps Sir , since I am beginner, I dont know what amount should I pay for stmps. Is it possible to buy stamps directly from the postal department of the country. I live in India where we have a scheme where they deliver all the newly released stamps. Is it possible in other countries too? Of course I am not looking for any very high value stamps.
@@soundwave5831 you can get kiloware mixtures for as low as 2 cents per stamp or less plus shipping cost. You can search Google with the words (country) post philately.
another enjoyable video-opening a new pack of stamps is better than opening a bag of M&M's. well, almost,,, ;)
oh, and nice Kokopelli t shirt!
Thank you, R.
I usually think of CTO's as being sold to foreign collectors. It never occurred to me that people would buy their own country's CTO's
Yes, there are so many differences in collecting habits around the world.
Another interesting presentation. Enjoyed a lot. Thank you.
Thank you, Jagath.

Nice selection of stamps from Israel. Especially those with tabs are nice to find on paper.
Yes, the tabs add another dimension of interest, to putting together a used collection. Thanks for watching, Morten.

I agree with your last statement. I could see doing this for particular stamps I come across and need. Probably not practical for big lots.
WOW that's a great selection of stamps you have there...
I am constantly surprised by the generosity and sharing nature of philatelists. This hobby is the ambassador for world peace.
I never understood my fellow collectors' disdain for CTO stamps. When they come in sets, they are a wonderful addition to anyone's collection.
In China, I’ve read, CTOs are the preferred state of stamps to collect.

I imagine that could become quite costly (and dangerous) for large batches of stamps such as the Israeli batch in this video.
800 lb rhinoceros in the room - that made me laugh, but feel l or others might be missing something.
Graham Beck has an affinity for rhinos, and collects rhinos on stamps, as seen in his video here: ruclips.net/p/PL35i28X1DhqICCa-oHLBWi73pg6ulb6fq

Hi! How do you dry your stamps after you soak them? A lot of mine get curled and crinkly, is that normal?
I use a Desert Magic drying book. In Episode 19, I go step by step through my soaking and drying process.
Just press them between a couple books after they dry.
