I guess we all wanted to shout that Nederland is Holland but the main thing I took away from this was that you had bought a lovely stamp collection, I hope it brings many hours of enjoyment. I suspect the seller was really pleased that such a nice guy got her stamps!
Lol true. The fact is that I knew the Holland/Netherlands connection but totally forgot it while filming the video. Thank you for the wonderful comment, I am excited to explore of the stamps in the collection.
Holland, despite just being a part of the Netherlands, is often used as an alternate name for the country.

Interesting to see Abraham Lincoln in a Honduras stamp! As a newbie, I would have thought at first glance that it was a US stamp.
I'll also have to learn why Hong Kong stamps have dollar values. So much to learn!

Hi Smokey, what an interesting purchase, a lot of new stamps for your collection. In Chile, Netherlands is called "Holanda" 😅 so I think is the same like Holland. I know is a specific part of Netherlands, but apparently in many places it's the name that it's used to refer to the entire country.

Let me start, with a belated kudos on 500 subs. Onto the episode, appears an interesting purchase. Holland actually is the informal name name of The Netherlands. I also see Netherlands Antilles there. That aside, I wonder how the stamps stay on the page. Hopefully, they aren't hinged. Magyar Posta or Hungary do have these larger, animation stamps that I find kinda kiddish. I too have a small number of Honduran stamps, and I recently acquainted myself with a Honduran stamp collector. Hopefully, my stamp collection of the country will grow beautifully moving forward.

A number of the stamps that are with the stamps from the Netherlands are actually from Netherlands Antilles. Netherlands Antilles is an island group located in the Caribbean. Politically the Antilles are part of the Kingdom of Netherlands, but they are a separate entity which issues their own stamps. Prior to 1954, Netherlands Antilles was the Dutch colony of Curaçao.

Hello iam so glad I came across your post I do have some stamps myself and I have one that’s a hundred years old will I do have 2 of them they are from the USA and from orther country like some of queen Elizebeth of Elegland but I do love them so keep it coming thanks
