Yeah it’s like every week they announce a new addition “coming soon” while ignoring literal hundreds of broken stuff. The gameplay itself is also extremely tedious, as getting hit once translates to “you can’t play the game for 20 seconds lol” I hope it gets better though because the team is really talented

Well said Eclipse! AUT is in a current state where it lost all of it's potential after the amount of bugs and general stuff, and mess that the game is in right now.
Simple recap: YBA sucked, AUT entered the chat, everyone gone bonkers hoping it has 0 flaws unlike YBA, long ass development time resulted in hype (plus sneaks), game released, everyone got hit by a YBA 2 (Deluxe Bug edition) vibe, things got out of control, game gone boring & dry after a small amount of time & died + empty promises from release that never came on release but could maintain the game
I honestly dont think that jojo games has any hopes anymore being completely honest with you, people just should forget about the dry and boring roka and arrow type of games. id rather go off with different games than jojo games. theyre pretty much almost all the same
I feel that AUT is one of those games that was overhyped and then it gradually began to descend to madness. It did have good content and good updates it just gradually lost the hype.
Honestly the whole m1 discussion made me realize why I like ABD and YBA's combat. I am not just punching everyone with the same two buttons because they're strong, I am using my whole keyboard and stringing together a lot of moves and it makes me feel great, because I am not doing the same thing every time, I am being smart and using my skills consciously. AUT doesn't have that. AUT feels like I am just following a path. I don't feel free to test out new combos. I just do m1 m1 m1 e m1 m1 m1 stun move m1 m1 m1 r/combo finisher. Also the Meta. They have 0 idea on how to balance stuff, look at Mero, Killua and Broly, 3 of the new specs that came out from NU (CC is the exception, that thing is actually good and fun to use miraculously). Killua was a mess, laggy, has dumb combos. Got nerfed, useless. Broly, OP, absurdly broken, insanely hard to get. Top tier from the Meta, for now at least Mero It exists? Bad, poorly put together. Then look at yasuo and yone. The literal hardest specs to get in the game. NERFED SO HARD THEY'RE LITERALLY WORTHLESS. I love AUT but God the potential was wasted and nobody cares anymore.

Beta Tester for AUT here. From watching this video, I’m gonna be brutal honest and agree with what was said in this video. When New Universe was under development, a lot of hope and expectation was put in the spotlight by the community, and was later broke down as the game progressed after release in August last year. If the developers were to think twice and take their time on the development of the game instead of rushing themselves for a set time of release, the game could have the potential to be in a better position and/or state. During beta testing, bugs were occasional, and not everything was finished, but the state of the game was overall under the good side of the spectrum when it came to the community’s expectations. However, as the game evolved over the last few months, bugs became more common, and setbacks slowed down development (Ex. Asset stealing incident, most recent in-game announcements backdooring incident). Even though this is all the case, Kur and his team still has room to improve, as well as Uzu and his team, despite both game owners being weighed down with school problems. As long as both dev teams take their time and know what they are doing, both games will become in a better state than how they used to be. That’s all I’ve got to say for now, have a nice day.

I remember one time I asked in the AUT discord (before the game released) if this game would have a storyline, quests, missions, or anything else. People told me no. I then asked what’s the point of playing once you’ve gotten whatever ability you want. People got pissed at me lol.
im gonna be honest, i actually enjoyed and played old aut more than NU, its always exciting to find cursed orbs or getting the stand you've always wanted and NU just ditches all of that and just makes it more of a chore to do. and yes, i do like waiting for 24 hours on a private server just for one item.
Same here. Those stands that took cursed orbs actually felt rare and cool to see in game. Zenith and P//S were really cool as well. Yeah the grinding wasn't the best, same with the gameplay, but I still for some reason enjoyed it a lot more that NU.
I would like to add a few extra notes here just for the sake of it on some things. On the release: another shitshow was the trello, due to the insane traffic that the AUT trello got on release, the page had to be privated and so no-one knew anything about the game at all other than it was a game that existed. On m1s: I completely agree and I think the reason m1 stun works so much better in ABA is partly due to the different ways they can be executed (aerial m1s etc.) and the limited movesets of the characters normally having only 4 moves (excluding modes) or sometimes even less
As a person who actually work on Trello for Roblox games since early 2020 Yeah, it was a really dumb idea privating the Trello, worst of all it takes them weeks to update stuff, Planet Shaper, Mero, etc when it first came out. And don't get me started on the moderation god that's terrible as well, the trading moderators are literally yba mods without in game specs
The thing with the "Aba inspired combat" is weird, cause no other game has implemented it as well as aba (Aba hasn't implemented it all too well either tho). The thing that makes it work in aba is a small amount of moves but also the fact that very few characters can start combo's without risking a lot, and the characters that can either dont get much off of it or they cant do anything without it.
@@LegendaryPlz I think theres so much more to the gameplay then just "stun simulator". I think its poor balancing that can cause issues like that to happen, matches in N however either end in seconds or end in minutes- really it just depends on the difference in skill between the two players and what classes they're playing. I think n has really interesting movesets, I do think the game has gotten worse with time but I think at one point n the jojo game could have been the best pvp game on the platform.
@@revdevvv i still think that a system that makes m1s necessary to combo isn't that fun, especially with how much stun they have. and while the poor balancing is the biggest problem, the game isn't that fun because you pretty much win if you m1 first, since a lot of stands have good combo extenders. what i do think is better about it is that the m1 cooldowns are longer than other jojo games, which makes it better than games like crusaders' heaven, which is one of the least fun fighting games i've ever played. TL;DR: while balancing is the biggest issue in N, the combat isn't fun mainly because of the "you m1 first, you win" type of gameplay
honestly, i love aba's combat system, WHEN you have 4+ players in a match (so, basically 2v2) doing high damage combos is pretty hard when there is another guy stopping you, so having to do different combos in different situations instead of the same b&b combo is pretty cool obs: what i mean by "different combos in different situations" is that you need to use quicker moves, uptilt to get you enemy away from his teamate, and stuff like that.
People give yba a bad rap especially the combat, i cant even count how many times i have been made fun of by gpo and aba players because i play yba and the combat is braindead. Their last words before i spank them.
AUT was really a good game to *ME* when it came out 1 month after release that’s were the fun actually began, I played with friends in private servers and Basically just grinded. Now the game is just boring, broken, and not fun anymore. It makes me realize how much I cherished old AUT and how much hours I spent on it. I Remember I played old AUT when I had online classes lol.
I've been playing AUT since the very first or second day it released for the first time, and despite me drifting away from the game over time it's a damn shame to see the game fall off like this. It really feels like the end of an era that could've lasted longer. And as for the combat, you can't even call the combat an aba copy, because aba has shit that sets it apart from other games. AUT NU is such a fucking disaster of a game Edit: I'm still laughing at the people who actually thought this dumpster fire would kill YBA. I always knew that would never happen, even if AUT didn't have the problems it did.

The sole reason AUT can't and will never beat YBA is the combat, if AUT doesn't want to change how combat work then they will get stuck in the 6k player average and will stay like that until it dies. I hoped AUT would compensate their shitty combat by at leadt having a tons of stands/spec to use, but even then, YBA beats AUT at it. A whole ass dev team can't create something as good as something made by a teenager.
I played aut since the first day and I really liked it. It was a game that did not have much lag and the cartoony animation and backgrounds makes it look pretty simple yet cool. But aut then got a new map which was extremely laggy as hell. I quit cause I could not play since the lag. Meanwhile yba is also pretty laggy to me but less laggy and more cooler with its maps styles and animations. I do agree yba moderation is trash and the community is pretty toxic, yba still has cool game modes and the map was pretty cool. It also had complimentary stuff like paragon and pizza and also has a “build your build” system where you can be creative with any stand and spec combo (the specs are expensive tho and you need to grind a lot) not to mention they had steel ball run game mode and despite having tons of teams and exploiters, the maps, backgrounds, and hidden spots that the devs put in steel ball run is far better then anything I have experienced in aut. Aut had op specs and stands and obviously need balancing changes. And aut has never reduced lag which gave me a crappy and the 1v1s has a lot of bugs that need patching (for example Sol ball move that makes you glitch) kur has not been fixing these bugs and also there is a lot of stun with every move. Personally yba will never be beaten by anyone, project star and aut has failed and yba has no competition.
Around 12:16 I was going to comment on how dying to two hits is very much commonplace in a lot of fighting games, most notably, things like Dragon Ball fighterz, in which watching yourself get clobbered and mixed just for losing neutral is almost Part of the experience But aside of that being me playing devil's advocate and ignoring the depth of fighterz mechanics, it straight never really occured to me that some people play those games for reasons other than actually fighting and labbing tech. Also, really nice video, brought up a lot of points I didn't see and made sense all the way through, thanks for the content
a little shame eclipse didn’t touch on the fact that some specs don’t have barrages, making it hard to have the ability to barrage in any stun but still, nice video and good insight on aut!
@Daniel Lewis Cap, the so-called get out of combo move is blockable, which means if you block it, you can continue your combo, and even better if you use Shadow Dio considering it *PERFECTLY* counters Broly to such a massive degree just because of its counter.
Another reason ppl dot play aut is the way they balance it. They don't enrf the stuns, they nerf the things that differ from the m1 stuns. Mih could spam teleports but jow it can't. Goku had its different forms but now it was nerfed. They all nerf only the stands that are not combo stands and differ from the m1 system, which leads to more m1 funni combo half ur health stands.
1 year later we are still waiting for tusk / goku rework while the devs are focusing on trading and making the economy the weirdest possible one in existence :))
Yes. Yes, I DO agree with the first part. Marketing hype would ruin the game, and I tried to tell quite a lot of people, but they pretty much just shunned me because "You don't understand how hard it is to dev" despite me actually knowing how to code a tiny bit. It's not easy, I know. But that doesn't mean hard is good. Edit: Also, I really didn't trust the dev team either because, well, old AUT existed.
As a guy coming from a fighting game background, AUT's combat was something that appealed to me. I like that game of neutral if both players have access to decent tools. The biggest problem was just that so many stands and specs were so wildly different. Some are obviously more finished than others, while others are still sitting on like 3 moves that are barely cohesive together. Something that I think really needs to be said is just how nice AUT was when it came to skins and storage, and how willing they were to talk to the community. Honestly, I just wish there was more content when it came to playing with friends. It really needed an equivalent to SBR, or to just have 2v2s at least. I think there's room for these games to have different combat, even if it doesn't work for everyone. It might've helped to lean further into what AUT's combat already was. Add in better ways for characters to get in during neutral, maybe even add mechanics similar to a fighting game style burst.
it was always a stand collecting game, even before new universe its just that in the past obtainables had actual value, the community was much much nicer and unobtainable stands werent just reskins with no special pose music or touch to them. aut lost its vibe along with all its players with the release of nu
During the segment "AUT's release disaster", the music accompanied with what he was saying made me feel way too intense. On top of the music being almost as loud as him, it's super distracting.
I remember when AUT launched , me and my 3 friends were so ready to play it , i bought the vip server and it just didnt work at all so i had to buy it again an hour later , and once i finally got into the game , some of my stuff was just gone , mainly my HReaper (urzan now i think). That kind of ticked me off but i still had my other stuff like party starter , but after experiencing all the new stuff we just stopped playing , only coming back once every couple months to just see what's changed.
I lost all my old progress before the revamp that ''supposely'' and never got a response or fix to it. Really killed my hype, especially with the dozen of rare stands and specs I had.
Hey aut veteran here i wanna say some things: 1st thig: allmost all my hardwork got deleted as soon as new universe got realeased ( all my stands moostly got deleted ) 2nd thing: the balance in aut is well there is no balance between stands ( yone and yasuo on realease were way to op another good example is killua ) 3rd thing: the bugs like dude pls get playtest everything before realease ( the bike had a glitch that basically let u go supersonic whithout having the bike equiped or the dash allowing u to go through walls or the time when kcr could have teleported with no cooldown ) 4th and final thing: the grind like dude sometimes i farm for hours to get a cursed orb and other times i get 1milion cursed orbs right when i don't need them
I'm no professional in this field but I can approve your opinion on the combat system. A good combat system should involve true combos that aren't 10 hits long, they shouldn't be extended simply by holding down a button. This type of combat system is all over the place and sadly, super popular. It must be one of the main turn off for many people including me, it was just a mess really. There's only one way to fix it and I doubt it'll happen. Also, great video, hope you pump out more videos like this, they are enjoyable.
Eclipse (and anyone else reading), i know you will most likely not see this or you will not repond/read this, but I have a game about 25% done and i want to see what a broder amont of people think this game/combate systom would work, if you do please let me know. Tottle base HP - 200 How it works - Most have 12-15 moves to pick from and put onto one of 8 keybinds (anything on keyboard, mouse buttons, anything) then thats the moves you use, you can ONLY have 8 MOVES AT ONE TIME even if you have spare keys, but you CAN have less then 8 to use for a spec “Deflect” (replace what most games will have as parrying) - if you deflect a move 45% of the dmg that move would have done goes to the person that used the move, there are some exceptions tho , hear they are “Parry” - works like any other game, but this is a lot more rare and is only found on heavy hitting moves (smth that does more than 65 dmg in 1 it like a BD), it will not even be noted if it is not doing the dmg to need a parry instead of a deflect Characters - this game is meant to be a ABA type roster, YBA type map, free rome and gamemodes and a custom, (i don't think) seen before combate symptom The future if it goes well? - I (and my team at point of starting this) will try to get this game off roblox and onto a browser or steam/epic game, free to play and i will see if data can be transferred
for some reason the roblox jojo community is just filled with so many people that think they're the best at pvp in whatever game they're playing, so much so that they have to make up excuses for why they would ever lose.

@@asrielicious keep in mind that the more updates you add to a game the longer it takes to make new updates. And considering all the trouble that has happened on the developer side it should be obvious that updates can be delayed.
I can understand why is so greedy since he is probably saving for college but that doesn't mean we should like or put up with its methods, if we want yba to update we need competition

I've had quite a lot of experience with Roblox JoJo games and I must say, it really is a disappointment that AUT couldn't live up to the hype that was built for it. At this point, the standard farming / roka + arrow type JoJo games are no longer interesting anymore, because of how much of the focus from the dev teams go toward the stand designs and farming aspect of the game whereas the combat on the other hand is sub-par. I feel like if upcoming JoJo games appear, they should really just toss farming for stands out of the window and just focus 90% on the combat system. It really is a shame that the talent and skill of the AUT dev team created all these stunning vfx's, stand models and sound designs only for it to be seen as just another farming JoJo game. If there exists a JoJo game focused around combat combined with the visuals and sound designs of AUT, I swear it would get much much better reception and long-term popularity.
universal time just kinda updated itself to its own death, playing on mobile roblox isn’t even possible anymore, most people’s rare stands and great values were wiped, the map is absolutely giant and now it’s bigger than the face of the earth, old mechanics were revamped or should I say devamped and now the game kinda got bleached and faded
One thing that killed it for me and my friends was when Kur was caught using YBA visual effects and claiming them as his own. I didn’t even touch the game until the Candy Cutlass ability was added
Have to completely agree with you, even now the devs are still on their same shenanigan's with the first part of the summer update. The new stands and abilities are just boring, sure they look cool but I instantly got bored with anshen, weather report and hell even wsr and d4c lt. Plus the amount of things that are broken or just got completely curb stomped by the new stuff is just so dumb. Umbra's quest just doesn't work, bosses just breaking completely, of course moves just don't work and many many more bugs. I personally think that the devs are just trying to add as many things as they can at once to keep their audience but don't realize that not only is it gonna burn them out and create more problems with time constraint and just being to distracted to fix stuff, its also gonna drive away their audience since they see that the devs aren't gonna fix something that been in the game for months just so they can add four new specs or stands that only have like four or five moves when they shouldn't and are just gonna get overshadowed by other stands when really they shouldn't. In short the devs are just trying to do so much without taking the time to make sure they polish their product to make sure its high quality, the game is basically a heavily polished turd, sure you could polish it as much as you want and even put gold over it, but its still a turd, that eventually is just gonna rot away.
The things that killed it for me was the huge amount of Bugs and a deep ass lake of promises that haven't been fulfilled ever since they were announced
1 thing that truly made me upset is I had kcau and dtwhv and I was excited to see it again. All that work I put in the first game just to be wiped. And it's too late to get it back because the only screenshot I have of my dtwhv is 1 where me and my friend are sitting next to eachother (he has twhv and I have dtwhv in the pic) but it's really sad how not only did many people lose everything they worked hard for. The game lost all of what made it really good at the start. I missed what aut once was
i remember my friend is a big jjba fan and he kept telling me about aut and showed me a lot of the teasers and stuff...i was impressed but then when the game actually came out he didnt tell me anything. now i know why
I would try to help AUT with my experience balancing games and I e even have a easy fix for the long annoying combos that's plain as day and never done before on roblox. But AUT's staff from what I've seen is unprofessional to a point where I've been booted to YBA and target banned on their discord sights bc I was playing the game trying to enjoy it and fighting people with sp. It is baffling the things people do when given power over others. I've been showing time and time again game Staff who just don't generally care. I spend my time at work, working on story scripts for several different projects, voice acting, and I juggle it all around and get it all done. I make time for anything I need or want bc I like working. That's the way I am, I act professional at all times when clocked in.
I guess that's why ABA works. Most characters have at least some neutral game and those who don't are known as M1 characters, characters who can only start combos through m1s I think they do need to add a HC style combo timer though
Honestly, the next big jojo game is gonna be the one that has stat points, leveling, and stand fusions (like PJJ) and does all of these things right. Also, having more gamemodes than just a main game, 1v1/2v2’s, and SBR. I await the day that this happens.
I actually really enjoyed the previous game but I think most of the people left because 1 they forgot it existed or don't know it's back out 2 they liked it being unfair if your stand was rare 3 they just liked to chill and not need to farm to do quests or 4 me personally, they did a data wipe to items and stands which was pointless I lost every single unob I had and an unob item and two corbs and I had some stuff I really enjoyed and now it's just gone for no reason or 5 they just don't like it anymore because of what they did to the game
on the other side of the coinflip id say yba isnt much different, id call it "the most detailed painting that only uses 3 inches of the canvas " as its got alot going for it but thats it and theres basically no room for it to expand/it doesnt want to expand
I do agree with the points of m1 stun being somewhat tiresome and boring if u can call it, but some games execute it greatly. Using aba as an example is not a really good comparison considering how their m1 mechanic is vastly different from aut’s since it has aerials, different m1 strings, and how you end the m1.
Yba has emergent gameplay. There is just so many spec + stand combos and while there is the games meta, figuring out a combo by your own feels so good. For exemple, ger spin is bad but it is a zoning menace that make kids quit bc of how many projectiles you can use
well said, i didnt even know about the game until release since it was top on the front page, and since i wasnt hype, i stayed until the new map, and quit, the game was boring, and the private servers either not being free and the fact that you had to renew it for 600 robux just completely ended it.
yea the devs are just really money hungry, theres NO reason why the private servers are a subscription instead of being a one time purchase like EVERY OTHER GAME
@@strawhatdj2195 you do realize that private server are a monthly payment on most games on roblox right? (look at yba 50 bux, aut rn 150 bux some other game 20 bux etc). And if you thought devs get all the bux you are quite wrong it's much more roblox them selves taking 75% of that money. (also you can check any game at any time if they are free or not)

AUT Old Universe used to be my favourite roblox game and I wish devs would make separate game AUT:OU. Thats the main reason I was so excited for the new universe
Old universe was fun, for me atleast. It was nice to hype up when you heard the stwr music or death note op 1 and get stands you've always wanted. It's kind of hard to explain but it's at the tip of my tongue. NU just throws out the concept of grind. You could get any stand in 1 day

@@Ram-tf6gr i dont really understand why people think ou is better than nu. yeah i did have a lot of fun with my friends in the old universe and had a lot of memories about it but it still had a lot of flaws like the god awful balancing, horrible system for getting abilities, so on. for me, ou is about as bad as nu.
if you want me to be honest the older aut was way more enjoyable to play for me and a lot of other people the "New Universe" just made it not fun at all. The old one was from what i've seen more made for fun here was a lot of bugs ofc and a lot of fun overpowered stands/specs (like shadow the hedgehog and samurai) the New Universe was just really unplayable i mean in the old uni i remember afk'ing for like 12 hours for a cursed orb (i really liked the concept of music playing when it spawns it was making your heart race more than asking a girl out) and now they made it you can't even afk because the chests despawn and shit. For me personally my "dream" stand was STWR (Shadow The World Requiem) and Reaper and later SPR (Star Platinium Requiem) and well i didn't even get them by normal farming but by a bug lmao what was some uh daily spin thingy i don't really remember but basically you were getting spins for playing the game for like a lot of time or smthing like that and when they realesed it you had infinite spins lmao i got a lot of stuff from it it took them like 30 mins to fix it (ban me i dare you). So uh basically what i wanted to say is old aut (old universe or wtf you wanna call it) was way more fun to play than the current state of the game (new universe) so yeah basically the game is i guess i can say too fighting based when you get your "dream" stand and stuff. I agree. I understand what they were trying to go for in NU, they wanted to attempt to make the game more balanced and less luck based on if you get that special item to spawn into your server. But like.... I really do prefer the old game. Me and a friend used to hop into that game ever day and just obliterate people with Tusk Act 4, GER, and Wonder of U. We praised how canonically accurate they were. Yeah, we were the type of people that just moved past Stands being "broken" in favor of them being accurate to their source. We thought it was what made the game unique, because sure it was still a Stand collection game, it was the amount of fun you could have with those Stands afterwards that drew us in. For example, I mentioned Wonder of U before. That Stand was GREAT. I mean, I really, really couldn't tell you anything right now in current AUT that even holds a candle to the amount of fun I had with Wonder of U. The moves were funny, the Stand looked great, and hell it got me a little bit more invested in Part 8 (I did not like Part 8 before), I just loved everything about it. ...Which is why I was sad to find out it wasn't going to be in the game. I understood from a balance perspective that obviously WoU couldn't have ever worked, but to know that the game was going for that "We're going to make everything balanced" while behind closed doors not making everything balanced, it just bothered me man. AUT wasn't MEANT to be a balanced PVP type of game, it was meant to just be a game you have stupid fun with. So yeah. I like AUT:NU, but as far as I'm concerned, it's just the ghost of what was, and what I hope will eventually be.
I miss old AUT so much, i would be farming while being in class, trolling with unobs, i even got a corb once, i loved the social interaction in the old map

I agree they have the best effects, sound effects, models, mechanics (not really), and very good sneak peeks, voice lines, and menu. but there's something is missing the very only 1 missing at the game. its the word called F U N
OH MY GOD! Somebody said it! People keep assuming a game is gonna "BeAT YbA!1!" and will be a good game because of the VFX and crap are good. But don't actually judge the game and how fun it is.
I stoped playing when I randomly lost tusk act 4, reaper, and a bunch of other good stands. I lost all motivation and it felt like the devs didn’t even care they did nothing to help anyone and ignored it. Me and my friend use to play it ALL the time before the newer updates I miss old aut so much.
The only thing that bothers me about combat in AUT is that m1s are literally the best moves since they can confirm anything, and have more stun than MIH’s entire move set
I think what made old AUT better, is that it knows it's place. It's just a stand collecting game, so they added a lot of stands to collect with exaggerated attacks, like planet shaper server nuke. The balance didn't exist, but old AUT didn't care much about that it just wants to make you feel powerful.
In my opinion, aut got what it deserved, nothing was balanced, they never listened to their community, there holiday updates was always late, usually the update is just a skins update, only once did they actually put new changes into stands.
Actually they have balanced things a lot, the issue is that everything they balance is either nerfed so hard that it's unusable or buffed so much that you could win blindfolded

@@Arbitrarily-Abstract They had a deadline of 31st of August to release the game, the game at release was YBA level of buggy, but put on steroids with some cocain in it, you could lose your stands that were stored, the item bank system randomly wiped itself, some stands simply didn't worked, the map was also an unoptimized pile of utter garbage despite being as wide as the Vatican.
Well made video on the state of AUT and in my opinion most if not all of your points still hold true to the state of the game. I’ve played since launch and can agree that the progression, combat, and other minor features all have very little depth in them. Which makes me sad because I was there for the 8 month long journey of sneak peeks and teasers up to release and for a while, AUT felt great to play since it was fun to play with friends. But due to the lack of updates said friends didn’t hop on and when it did update they would join for 10 minutes and then dip which was apparent with a whole lot of the players nowadays when I join in I see some people looking for a nostalgic trip or they’re playing for the first time. This leads me to say that AUT is doomed as of now which hurts me in the heart because I loved the game and it’s culture in OU even if it was a shitpost. NU just leaves me hanging and that’s what I have to say.
This video is really interesting from my perspective, mainly because I’m top 50 on the AUT 1v1 leaderboards and have played the game to death, with at least 10 hours a week spent on AUT. Here are my thoughts, split up into me responding on 3 factors: Marketing, PvP system, and the Playerbase When the AUT trailers were being hyped up, I was actually a hater on AUT. I DESPISED old universe, because I’ve always wanted a more competitive roblox jojo fighting game. All other games on roblox were too unbalanced, had dumb mechanics (ex: YBA pilot barrage), or was just not competitive enough. AUT was the worst offender of these for me, so I couldn’t imagine AUT becoming the game for me. I set my expectations low, and got an AMAZING game in return. It turns out, the marketing really did ruin the game, which I never thought was the reason. The PvP system is more like a more mainstream competitive fighting game instead of a roblox fighting game. In other roblox fighting games, you often get combo’d just for existing, with no way to avoid it (ex: Timestops and CW in YBA). In AUT, however, very few of these types of moves exist. When you get hit in AUT, it is always YOUR fault. Miss an attack, and you get punished. This promotes skill and playing well WAY more, making it feel like you earned your victories. Whatever you fight against, there is always something you can do better. This feeling of excitement from winning can’t be matched by other PvP games on roblox. There’s one problem. The majority of roblox players do not want a game that requires skill, especially PvP games. Instead, roblox players like grinding games like simulators or trading games (adopt me). The whole reason why YBA is still more popular is because of a longer grind (which I hate) and skin trading. It’s the whole reason why ABD was able to be successful, and AUT is against these ideas mostly. Instead of making skins tradable, they are cosmetics. Instead of adding a long grind, they put amazing stands in a simple arrow. While I agree adding these mechanics to the game would hurt it from a gameplay/PvP perspective, it makes the game tend to a player base that is way smaller on roblox. In my opinion, this is the main reason why AUT is less popular. Tons of people still play AUT, AUT is just not targeting the correct audience to be a massive rival to YBA, but that isn’t a bad thing. The game is more fun for people like me as it is now. TLDR: AUT isn’t a failure, it just appeals to a more competitive PvP playerbase, which isn’t the type of playerbase on roblox. Game still got overhyped on launch tho
The reason people hate AUT is because it isn’t the game for them, which is fine. You don’t have to enjoy every game. However, people shouldn’t call it one of the worst jojo games and tear it down just because they don’t enjoy the game themselves.

The problem with the devs is that they keep planning on adding rather than fixing. Most of the time, they don’t even add right as they just half finish things and then start working on other things.
i remember when i first watched infernasu's video on it, i was super hyped up for it, the visual's seemed extodinary, or just beautiful, around 100 of youtuber's played the game and showed game play, it seemed like a master piece, after the game dropped i was happy me and all of my friends played in a ps for like 5 hours... After one day, i was already using the best out of the best possible, mih, stwr, sans, gaster, reaper, tw:oh,sp:tw, and even more, then the game just felt.. empty, there was nothing fun anymore everyone just team's uses gojo / sans and runners WERE EVERYWHERE, i just lost faith in having fun in that game, after the skin update i thought i would give it an another go, but i fooled only my self, the game WAS BORING, not only that i feel like they just made it a bandit beater, do the quest's to get a stand then just trade or keep it, the pvp isn't that fun anymore since everyone uses the SAME STAND, i don't even feel like this game is about jojo it self anymore, you can't just make a game based on jojo when the most powerfull spec's are not even from jojo, anyways this game just sucks overall, abd & yba on top.

The developers who work on AUT's animations care about the game. The people who actually code and balance the game, however, could not give less of a shit about it.
I think the reason ABA combat works so well is because the combo is diverse, there are alot of things you can do with an m1 (laddering, uptilt, downslam....) so it open ups to a whole new way of combo'ing people. AUT combat is just a normal 5 hit stuns combo so most of the time people just put moves in middle of m1s and hope it extend
Well, AUT did make history in the game developing community just not the way it wanted to. They wanted it to be a game that other game devs would strive for but in reality it is now the best example of things that kill a game before its born.

Dealing with the barrage problem. I have a solution. The devs can add it to where the person whose getting barraged can also barrage. When that happens, a barrage battle happens. You have to spam e in order to win.

Honestly the whole m1 discussion made me realize why I like ABD and YBA's combat.
I am not just punching everyone with the same two buttons because they're strong, I am using my whole keyboard and stringing together a lot of moves and it makes me feel great, because I am not doing the same thing every time, I am being smart and using my skills consciously.
AUT doesn't have that. AUT feels like I am just following a path. I don't feel free to test out new combos. I just do m1 m1 m1 e m1 m1 m1 stun move m1 m1 m1 r/combo finisher.
Also the Meta. They have 0 idea on how to balance stuff, look at Mero, Killua and Broly, 3 of the new specs that came out from NU (CC is the exception, that thing is actually good and fun to use miraculously). Killua was a mess, laggy, has dumb combos.

Beta Tester for AUT here.
From watching this video, I’m gonna be brutal honest and agree with what was said in this video. When New Universe was under development, a lot of hope and expectation was put in the spotlight by the community, and was later broke down as the game progressed after release in August last year. If the developers were to think twice and take their time on the development of the game instead of rushing themselves for a set time of release, the game could have the potential to be in a better position and/or state. During beta testing, bugs were occasional, and not everything was finished, but the state of the game was overall under the good side of the spectrum when it came to the community’s expectations. However, as the game evolved over the last few months, bugs became more common, and setbacks slowed down development (Ex. Asset stealing incident, most recent in-game announcements backdooring incident). Even though this is all the case, Kur and his team still has room to improve, as well as Uzu and his team, despite both game owners being weighed down with school problems. As long as both dev teams take their time and know what they are doing, both games will become in a better state than how they used to be.

•Overhyped(What more do I need to say?)
•An overused JoJo Game Formula(Get Stand Or Spec, collect em all, rinse repeat)
•An underwhelming combat system(M1 Reliant)
•Not much to do in the game at all

Same here. Those stands that took cursed orbs actually felt rare and cool to see in game. Zenith and P//S were really cool as well. Yeah the grinding wasn't the best, same with the gameplay, but I still for some reason enjoyed it a lot more that NU.

I would like to add a few extra notes here just for the sake of it on some things.
On the release: another shitshow was the trello, due to the insane traffic that the AUT trello got on release, the page had to be privated and so no-one knew anything about the game at all other than it was a game that existed.
On m1s: I completely agree and I think the reason m1 stun works so much better in ABA is partly due to the different ways they can be executed (aerial m1s etc.) and the limited movesets of the characters normally having only 4 moves (excluding modes) or sometimes even less

Yeah, it was a really dumb idea privating the Trello, worst of all it takes them weeks to update stuff, Planet Shaper, Mero, etc when it first came out.
And don't get me started on the moderation god that's terrible as well, the trading moderators are literally yba mods without in game specs
@ Well the privating was done my trello itself cause it was viewed as bot spam if I'm not mistaken, its basically another consequence of the over-hype
They abandoned the trello in favor of discord, so it wouldn't bug out. This change was made in only a week as well!

The thing with the "Aba inspired combat" is weird, cause no other game has implemented it as well as aba (Aba hasn't implemented it all too well either tho). The thing that makes it work in aba is a small amount of moves but also the fact that very few characters can start combo's without risking a lot, and the characters that can either dont get much off of it or they cant do anything without it.
I think n the jojo game nails the concept really well, other then in balancing. The game used to be great until the dev's gave up.

I think its poor balancing that can cause issues like that to happen, matches in N however either end in seconds or end in minutes- really it just depends on the difference in skill between the two players and what classes they're playing. I think n has really interesting movesets, I do think the game has gotten worse with time but I think at one point n the jojo game could have been the best pvp game on the platform.
@@revdevvv i still think that a system that makes m1s necessary to combo isn't that fun, especially with how much stun they have. and while the poor balancing is the biggest problem, the game isn't that fun because you pretty much win if you m1 first, since a lot of stands have good combo extenders. what i do think is better about it is that the m1 cooldowns are longer than other jojo games, which makes it better than games like crusaders' heaven, which is one of the least fun fighting games i've ever played.
TL;DR: while balancing is the biggest issue in N, the combat isn't fun mainly because of the "you m1 first, you win" type of gameplay

doing high damage combos is pretty hard when there is another guy stopping you, so having to do different combos in different situations instead of the same b&b combo is pretty cool
obs: what i mean by "different combos in different situations" is that you need to use quicker moves, uptilt to get you enemy away from his teamate, and stuff like that.

AUT was really a good game to *ME* when it came out 1 month after release that’s were the fun actually began, I played with friends in private servers and Basically just grinded. Now the game is just boring, broken, and not fun anymore. It makes me realize how much I cherished old AUT and how much hours I spent on it. I Remember I played old AUT when I had online classes lol.

I've been playing AUT since the very first or second day it released for the first time, and despite me drifting away from the game over time it's a damn shame to see the game fall off like this. It really feels like the end of an era that could've lasted longer.
And as for the combat, you can't even call the combat an aba copy, because aba has shit that sets it apart from other games. AUT NU is such a fucking disaster of a game

The sole reason AUT can't and will never beat YBA is the combat, if AUT doesn't want to change how combat work then they will get stuck in the 6k player average and will stay like that until it dies. I hoped AUT would compensate their shitty combat by at leadt having a tons of stands/spec to use, but even then, YBA beats AUT at it. A whole ass dev team can't create something as good as something made by a teenager.
I played aut since the first day and I really liked it. It was a game that did not have much lag and the cartoony animation and backgrounds makes it look pretty simple yet cool. But aut then got a new map which was extremely laggy as hell. I quit cause I could not play since the lag. Meanwhile yba is also pretty laggy to me but less laggy and more cooler with its maps styles and animations. I do agree yba moderation is trash and the community is pretty toxic, yba still has cool game modes and the map was pretty cool. It also had complimentary stuff like paragon and pizza and also has a “build your build” system where you can be creative with any stand and spec combo (the specs are expensive tho and you need to grind a lot) not to mention they had steel ball run game mode and despite having tons of teams and exploiters, the maps, backgrounds, and hidden spots that the devs put in steel ball run is far better then anything I have experienced in aut. Aut had op specs and stands and obviously need balancing changes. And aut has never reduced lag which gave me a crappy and the 1v1s has a lot of bugs that need patching (for example Sol ball move that makes you glitch) kur has not been fixing these bugs and also there is a lot of stun with every move. Personally yba will never be beaten by anyone, project star and aut has failed and yba has no competition.
Around 12:16 I was going to comment on how dying to two hits is very much commonplace in a lot of fighting games, most notably, things like Dragon Ball fighterz, in which watching yourself get clobbered and mixed just for losing neutral is almost Part of the experience
But aside of that being me playing devil's advocate and ignoring the depth of fighterz mechanics, it straight never really occured to me that some people play those games for reasons other than actually fighting and labbing tech.

@Daniel Lewis Cap, the so-called get out of combo move is blockable, which means if you block it, you can continue your combo, and even better if you use Shadow Dio considering it *PERFECTLY* counters Broly to such a massive degree just because of its counter.
I think we can agree that removing fun elements from the late game removed the game's familiarity.

Another reason ppl dot play aut is the way they balance it. They don't enrf the stuns, they nerf the things that differ from the m1 stuns. Mih could spam teleports but jow it can't. Goku had its different forms but now it was nerfed. They all nerf only the stands that are not combo stands and differ from the m1 system, which leads to more m1 funni combo half ur health stands.
1 year later we are still waiting for tusk / goku rework while the devs are focusing on trading and making the economy the weirdest possible one in existence :))
Yes. Yes, I DO agree with the first part. Marketing hype would ruin the game, and I tried to tell quite a lot of people, but they pretty much just shunned me because "You don't understand how hard it is to dev" despite me actually knowing how to code a tiny bit. It's not easy, I know. But that doesn't mean hard is good.
Edit: Also, I really didn't trust the dev team either because, well, old AUT existed.
As a guy coming from a fighting game background, AUT's combat was something that appealed to me. I like that game of neutral if both players have access to decent tools. The biggest problem was just that so many stands and specs were so wildly different. Some are obviously more finished than others, while others are still sitting on like 3 moves that are barely cohesive together.
Something that I think really needs to be said is just how nice AUT was when it came to skins and storage, and how willing they were to talk to the community. Honestly, I just wish there was more content when it came to playing with friends. It really needed an equivalent to SBR, or to just have 2v2s at least.
I think there's room for these games to have different combat, even if it doesn't work for everyone. It might've helped to lean further into what AUT's combat already was. Add in better ways for characters to get in during neutral, maybe even add mechanics similar to a fighting game style burst.

I remember when AUT launched , me and my 3 friends were so ready to play it , i bought the vip server and it just didnt work at all so i had to buy it again an hour later , and once i finally got into the game , some of my stuff was just gone , mainly my HReaper (urzan now i think). That kind of ticked me off but i still had my other stuff like party starter , but after experiencing all the new stuff we just stopped playing , only coming back once every couple months to just see what's changed.
I lost all my old progress before the revamp that ''supposely'' and never got a response or fix to it. Really killed my hype, especially with the dozen of rare stands and specs I had.
at this point we're just lying to ourselves "aut is a good game" when we can see those "(insert stand name) true 1 shot combos" everywhere
Hey aut veteran here i wanna say some things:
1st thig: allmost all my hardwork got deleted as soon as new universe got realeased ( all my stands moostly got deleted )
2nd thing: the balance in aut is well there is no balance between stands ( yone and yasuo on realease were way to op another good example is killua )
3rd thing: the bugs like dude pls get playtest everything before realease ( the bike had a glitch that basically let u go supersonic whithout having the bike equiped or the dash allowing u to go through walls
or the time when kcr could have teleported with no cooldown )
4th and final thing: the grind like dude sometimes i farm for hours to get a cursed orb and other times i get 1milion cursed orbs right when i don't need them
I'm no professional in this field but I can approve your opinion on the combat system. A good combat system should involve true combos that aren't 10 hits long, they shouldn't be extended simply by holding down a button. This type of combat system is all over the place and sadly, super popular. It must be one of the main turn off for many people including me, it was just a mess really. There's only one way to fix it and I doubt it'll happen. Also, great video, hope you pump out more videos like this, they are enjoyable.

How it works -
Most have 12-15 moves to pick from and put onto one of 8 keybinds (anything on keyboard, mouse buttons, anything) then thats the moves you use, you can ONLY have 8 MOVES AT ONE TIME even if you have spare keys, but you CAN have less then 8 to use for a spec
“Deflect” (replace what most games will have as parrying) - if you deflect a move 45% of the dmg that move would have done goes to the person that used the move, there are some exceptions tho , hear they are
“Parry” - works like any other game, but this is a lot more rare and is only found on heavy hitting moves (smth that does more than 65 dmg in 1 it like a BD), it will not even be noted if it is not doing the dmg to need a parry instead of a deflect
Characters - this game is meant to be a ABA type roster, YBA type map, free rome and gamemodes and a custom, (i don't think) seen before combate symptom
The future if it goes well? - I (and my team at point of starting this) will try to get this game off roblox and onto a browser or steam/epic game, free to play and i will see if data can be transferred

I've had quite a lot of experience with Roblox JoJo games and I must say, it really is a disappointment that AUT couldn't live up to the hype that was built for it. At this point, the standard farming / roka + arrow type JoJo games are no longer interesting anymore, because of how much of the focus from the dev teams go toward the stand designs and farming aspect of the game whereas the combat on the other hand is sub-par. I feel like if upcoming JoJo games appear, they should really just toss farming for stands out of the window and just focus 90% on the combat system. It really is a shame that the talent and skill of the AUT dev team created all these stunning vfx's, stand models and sound designs only for it to be seen as just another farming JoJo game. If there exists a JoJo game focused around combat combined with the visuals and sound designs of AUT, I swear it would get much much better reception and long-term popularity.

One thing that killed it for me and my friends was when Kur was caught using YBA visual effects and claiming them as his own. I didn’t even touch the game until the Candy Cutlass ability was added

Have to completely agree with you, even now the devs are still on their same shenanigan's with the first part of the summer update. The new stands and abilities are just boring, sure they look cool but I instantly got bored with anshen, weather report and hell even wsr and d4c lt. Plus the amount of things that are broken or just got completely curb stomped by the new stuff is just so dumb. Umbra's quest just doesn't work, bosses just breaking completely, of course moves just don't work and many many more bugs. I personally think that the devs are just trying to add as many things as they can at once to keep their audience but don't realize that not only is it gonna burn them out and create more problems with time constraint and just being to distracted to fix stuff, its also gonna drive away their audience since they see that the devs aren't gonna fix something that been in the game for months just so they can add four new specs or stands that only have like four or five moves when they shouldn't and are just gonna get overshadowed by other stands when really they shouldn't. In short the devs are just trying to do so much without taking the time to make sure they polish their product to make sure its high quality, the game is basically a heavily polished turd, sure you could polish it as much as you want and even put gold over it, but its still a turd, that eventually is just gonna rot away.

The things that killed it for me was the huge amount of Bugs and a deep ass lake of promises that haven't been fulfilled ever since they were announced
1 thing that truly made me upset is I had kcau and dtwhv and I was excited to see it again. All that work I put in the first game just to be wiped. And it's too late to get it back because the only screenshot I have of my dtwhv is 1 where me and my friend are sitting next to eachother (he has twhv and I have dtwhv in the pic) but it's really sad how not only did many people lose everything they worked hard for. I would try to help AUT with my experience balancing games and I e even have a easy fix for the long annoying combos that's plain as day and never done before on roblox. But AUT's staff from what I've seen is unprofessional to a point where I've been booted to YBA and target banned on their discord sights bc I was playing the game trying to enjoy it and fighting people with sp. It is baffling the things people do when given power over others. I've been showing time and time again game Staff who just don't generally care. I spend my time at work, working on story scripts for several different projects, voice acting, and I juggle it all around and get it all done. I make time for anything I need or want bc I like working. That's the way I am, I act professional at all times when clocked in.

I guess that's why ABA works. Most characters have at least some neutral game and those who don't are known as M1 characters, characters who can only start combos through m1s

Honestly, the next big jojo game is gonna be the one that has stat points, leveling, and stand fusions (like PJJ) and does all of these things right. Also, having more gamemodes than just a main game, 1v1/2v2’s, and SBR. I await the day that this happens.
I actually really enjoyed the previous game but I think most of the people left because 1 they forgot it existed or don't know it's back out 2 they liked it being unfair if your stand was rare 3 they just liked to chill and not need to farm to do quests or 4 me personally, they did a data wipe to items and stands which was pointless I lost every single unob I had and an unob item and two corbs and I had some stuff I really enjoyed and now it's just gone for no reason or 5 they just don't like it anymore because of what they did to the game

I do agree with the points of m1 stun being somewhat tiresome and boring if u can call it, but some games execute it greatly. Using aba as an example is not a really good comparison considering how their m1 mechanic is vastly different from aut’s since it has aerials, different m1 strings, and how you end the m1.

Yba has emergent gameplay. There is just so many spec + stand combos and while there is the games meta, figuring out a combo by your own feels so good. For exemple, ger spin is bad but it is a zoning menace that make kids quit bc of how many projectiles you can use

well said, i didnt even know about the game until release since it was top on the front page, and since i wasnt hype, i stayed until the new map, and quit, the game was boring, and the private servers either not being free and the fact that you had to renew it for 600 robux just completely ended it.
yea the devs are just really money hungry, theres NO reason why the private servers are a subscription instead of being a one time purchase like EVERY OTHER GAME

AUT Old Universe used to be my favourite roblox game and I wish devs would make separate game AUT:OU. Thats the main reason I was so excited for the new universe
Old universe was fun, for me atleast. It was nice to hype up when you heard the stwr music or death note op 1 and get stands you've always wanted. It's kind of hard to explain but it's at the tip of my tongue.

The old one was from what i've seen more made for fun here was a lot of bugs ofc and a lot of fun overpowered stands/specs (like shadow the hedgehog and samurai) the New Universe was just really unplayable i mean in the old uni i remember afk'ing for like 12 hours for a cursed orb (i really liked the concept of music playing when it spawns it was making your heart race more than asking a girl out) and now they made it you can't even afk because the chests despawn and shit.
For me personally my "dream" stand was STWR (Shadow The World Requiem) and Reaper and later SPR (Star Platinium Requiem) and well i didn't even get them by normal farming but by a bug lmao what was some uh daily spin thingy i don't really remember but basically you were getting spins for playing the game for like a lot of time or smthing like that and when they realesed it you had infinite spins lmao i got a lot of stuff from it it took them like 30 mins to fix it (ban me i dare you).
So uh basically what i wanted to say is old aut (old universe or wtf you wanna call it) was way more fun to play than the current state of the game (new universe) so yeah basically the game is i guess i can say too fighting based when you get your "dream" stand and stuff. I agree. I understand what they were trying to go for in NU, they wanted to attempt to make the game more balanced and less luck based on if you get that special item to spawn into your server.
But like.... I really do prefer the old game. Me and a friend used to hop into that game ever day and just obliterate people with Tusk Act 4, GER, and Wonder of U. We praised how canonically accurate they were. Yeah, we were the type of people that just moved past Stands being "broken" in favor of them being accurate to their source. We thought it was what made the game unique, because sure it was still a Stand collection game, it was the amount of fun you could have with those Stands afterwards that drew us in. For example, I mentioned Wonder of U before. That Stand was GREAT. I mean, I really, really couldn't tell you anything right now in current AUT that even holds a candle to the amount of fun I had with Wonder of U. The moves were funny, the Stand looked great, and hell it got me a little bit more invested in Part 8 (I did not like Part 8 before), I just loved everything about it.
...Which is why I was sad to find out it wasn't going to be in the game. I understood from a balance perspective that obviously WoU couldn't have ever worked, but to know that the game was going for that "We're going to make everything balanced" while behind closed doors not making everything balanced, it just bothered me man. AUT wasn't MEANT to be a balanced PVP type of game, it was meant to just be a game you have stupid fun with.
So yeah. I like AUT:NU, but as far as I'm concerned, it's just the ghost of what was, and what I hope will eventually be.
I miss old AUT so much, i would be farming while being in class, trolling with unobs, i even got a corb once, i loved the social interaction in the old map

I stoped playing when I randomly lost tusk act 4, reaper, and a bunch of other good stands. I lost all motivation and it felt like the devs didn’t even care they did nothing to help anyone and ignored it. Me and my friend use to play it ALL the time before the newer updates I miss old aut so much.
The only thing that bothers me about combat in AUT is that m1s are literally the best moves since they can confirm anything, and have more stun than MIH’s entire move set
I think what made old AUT better, is that it knows it's place. It's just a stand collecting game, so they added a lot of stands to collect with exaggerated attacks, like planet shaper server nuke. The balance didn't exist, but old AUT didn't care much about that it just wants to make you feel powerful.

In my opinion, aut got what it deserved, nothing was balanced, they never listened to their community, there holiday updates was always late, usually the update is just a skins update, only once did they actually put new changes into stands.

@@Arbitrarily-Abstract They had a deadline of 31st of August to release the game, the game at release was YBA level of buggy, but put on steroids with some cocain in it, you could lose your stands that were stored, the item bank system randomly wiped itself, some stands simply didn't worked, the map was also an unoptimized pile of utter garbage despite being as wide as the Vatican.
Well made video on the state of AUT and in my opinion most if not all of your points still hold true to the state of the game. I’ve played since launch and can agree that the progression, combat, and other minor features all have very little depth in them. Which makes me sad because I was there for the 8 month long journey of sneak peeks and teasers up to release and for a while, AUT felt great to play since it was fun to play with friends. But due to the lack of updates said friends didn’t hop on and when it did update they would join for 10 minutes and then dip which was apparent with a whole lot of the players nowadays when I join in I see some people looking for a nostalgic trip or they’re playing for the first time. This leads me to say that AUT is doomed as of now which hurts me in the heart because I loved the game and it’s culture in OU even if it was a shitpost. NU just leaves me hanging and that’s what I have to say.
This video is really interesting from my perspective, mainly because I’m top 50 on the AUT 1v1 leaderboards and have played the game to death, with at least 10 hours a week spent on AUT. Here are my thoughts, split up into me responding on 3 factors: Marketing, PvP system, and the Playerbase
When the AUT trailers were being hyped up, I was actually a hater on AUT. I DESPISED old universe, because I’ve always wanted a more competitive roblox jojo fighting game. All other games on roblox were too unbalanced, had dumb mechanics (ex: YBA pilot barrage), or was just not competitive enough. AUT was the worst offender of these for me, so I couldn’t imagine AUT becoming the game for me. I set my expectations low, and got an AMAZING game in return. It turns out, the marketing really did ruin the game, which I never thought was the reason.
The PvP system is more like a more mainstream competitive fighting game instead of a roblox fighting game. In other roblox fighting games, you often get combo’d just for existing, with no way to avoid it (ex: Timestops and CW in YBA). In AUT, however, very few of these types of moves exist. When you get hit in AUT, it is always YOUR fault. Miss an attack, and you get punished. This promotes skill and playing well WAY more, making it feel like you earned your victories.
Whatever you fight against, there is always something you can do better. This feeling of excitement from winning can’t be matched by other PvP games on roblox.
There’s one problem. The majority of roblox players do not want a game that requires skill, especially PvP games. Instead, roblox players like grinding games like simulators or trading games (adopt me). The whole reason why YBA is still more popular is because of a longer grind (which I hate) and skin trading. It’s the whole reason why ABD was able to be successful, and AUT is against these ideas mostly. Instead of making skins tradable, they are cosmetics. Instead of adding a long grind, they put amazing stands in a simple arrow. While I agree adding these mechanics to the game would hurt it from a gameplay/PvP perspective, it makes the game tend to a player base that is way smaller on roblox. In my opinion, this is the main reason why AUT is less popular. Tons of people still play AUT, AUT is just not targeting the correct audience to be a massive rival to YBA, but that isn’t a bad thing. The game is more fun for people like me as it is now.
TLDR: AUT isn’t a failure, it just appeals to a more competitive PvP playerbase, which isn’t the type of playerbase on roblox. Game still got overhyped on launch tho
The reason people hate AUT is because it isn’t the game for them, which is fine. You don’t have to enjoy every game. However, people shouldn’t call it one of the worst jojo games and tear it down just because they don’t enjoy the game themselves.

The problem with the devs is that they keep planning on adding rather than fixing. Most of the time, they don’t even add right as they just half finish things and then start working on other things.

i remember when i first watched infernasu's video on it, i was super hyped up for it, the visual's seemed extodinary, or just beautiful, around 100 of youtuber's played the game and showed game play, it seemed like a master piece, after the game dropped i was happy me and all of my friends played in a ps for like 5 hours... After one day, i was already using the best out of the best possible, mih, stwr, sans, gaster, reaper, tw:oh,sp:tw, and even more, then the game just felt.. empty, there was nothing fun anymore everyone just team's uses gojo / sans and runners WERE EVERYWHERE, i just lost faith in having fun in that game, after the skin update i thought i would give it an another go, but i fooled only my self, the game WAS BORING, not only that i feel like they just made it a bandit beater, do the quest's to get a stand then just trade or keep it, the pvp isn't that fun anymore since everyone uses the SAME STAND, i don't even feel like this game is about jojo it self anymore, you can't just make a game based on jojo when the most powerfull spec's are not even from jojo, anyways this game just sucks overall, abd & yba on top.

The developers who work on AUT's animations care about the game. The people who actually code and balance the game, however, could not give less of a shit about it.
I think the reason ABA combat works so well is because the combo is diverse, there are alot of things you can do with an m1 (laddering, uptilt, downslam....) so it open ups to a whole new way of combo'ing people. AUT combat is just a normal 5 hit stuns combo so most of the time people just put moves in middle of m1s and hope it extend

Well, AUT did make history in the game developing community just not the way it wanted to. They wanted it to be a game that other game devs would strive for but in reality it is now the best example of things that kill a game before its born.
Yo eclipse basicilly created an documentary about aut ,and thats just awesone i hope he do more documentaries like that but about other games ,or even about specific plataforms experiences in roblox ,like consoles or even mobile,well i hope we get more beautiful documentaries like that in future
Dealing with the barrage problem. I have a solution. The devs can add it to where the person whose getting barraged can also barrage. When that happens, a barrage battle happens. You have to spam e in order to win.
