According to the shorts description, she is the Chinese version of a kitsune, huli jing with the French animated short set in ancient China. But other than the different name and country, it is the same mythical creature. Honestly it will be lucky if you see any fantasy animal in real life. That is the dream goal of any cryptozoolgists (Psuedo scientists who are trying to prove the existence of mythical animals rumored to exist such as Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster). 🦊

Edit: I’d like to add to what the story could possibly be, this is my idea of the context btw, so these two fox hunters had those elementals powers and incredible martial arts right? Clearly showing themselves superior over that of the Kitsune lady. So it’s quite possible they’re demigods, and the Kitsune knew she couldn’t fight them, so instead she used her cunning to fool the two and have them fight each other.
