You could have cut the iron plate in a hexagonal shape, like the leather pieces that make up a football, and solder the pieces one to the other until a metal ball is formed and then you grind them to become smooth.
I've seen others do that and then use a pressure washer to get it more round. But without the pressure washer it stays pretty flat. I found this pattern works a lot better
Came here to say the same thing. Starting my journey Hydroforming. Started fabricating a sphere out of metal scraps for a monopoly man commission then said screw it, there’s a better way. Hydroforming. Anyway, he did a good job making this sphere.
Video link is in the description and on my channel page. Tho there is a small mistake at the end of the video, however there is more than enough info there to get the job done
Not so safe.... . I've almost lost my eyesight from both of my eyes.. in 2 difference cases of loose/broken wire on angled grinder those steel wires is even more unpredictable than your average spark "shower". Kinda like grinding or cutting without ,"spark catcher".. all over the place.. And how is this new way of doing spheres?.. That's the way they made spheres out thin to semi thin sheet metal for ages ..
well done
Thank you!
Nice
@@zngrrr thanks!

@@ThyialIndustries What you are saying is logical and correct
@@ThyialIndustriescoin them with a hammer to get that curve in.
@@Anenome5 not a black smith..but would love to learn!
I would tig it. You can make a small yet strong and cleaner weld.
I would now. But I didn't know how to tig Y the time
i need a part..

thanks! i wouldn't mind dabbling in some hydroforming
Can you cut a pattern.for me
I can't do the work for you. But that's what the video is there for, give it a try yourself!
@@aggabus depending on the size you need. I already have the math worked out for a 3" sphere in one of my other videos.

Thank you i look
a paper pattern..
a cross section
of an hour glass
(like)
I would love to try this in copper and make a larger 16 Inch sphere for a Vandegraph generator.
Don't know what that is but sounds cool lol
@@ThyialIndustries it makes sparks of static electricity up to ten inches long k100 volts and more.
@@ALSomthin dang, sounds fancy
@@ThyialIndustries I have made several but I did a metal spinning process to do it but was limited by the size of my lathe.
Here is a Vandegraff generator ruclips.net/user/shortsM0cTHfa1Lw4?si=A6vx8P-VyERyFNjv
Where the hell is the math you promised
