regarding laurie’s opening scene; 1) someone has just smashed through your door with a knife, and chased you up to the roof. how much sure do u have to be? & 2) if she was to remove his mask, how would she know what michael looks like anyway?
lloyd neal in the first film I believe she saw his face for a brief second when his mask came off during the scene where he chokes her. So she got a glimpse of his face and that picture is pretty much burned into her head because of the trauma. So it would make sense.
Man when this movie came out in the theaters I had the best crowd! Everyone was scared, screaming, laughing and cheering throughout the whole movie. One of my most memorable theater experiences. @@shaynestewart9297 Busta shit rhymes was beyond horrible, he did not belong in this franchise, he was just put in there to "make it hip", the scene where he told Myers off, was an absolute disgrace, and the kick pretty much spit in the face of the character.
My daughter just messaged you on Facebook about your edit of Halloween 6. Thank you so much for sending her the link for me! I cannot wait to watch it!!! I love your videos man
I think the best thing about Resurrection is that is gives an interesting look at technology in the early 2000s. The stuff that they're working with to live stream is hilarious. Seemed so cutting edge at the time, now it's archaic. I saw it in High School and remember not enjoying it much, revisited it last year and was actually surprised at how competent it is. Not a great movie by any stretch but it was much more entertaining than I remembered.
I've always said the reason why Michael Myers doesn't kill Freddie when he's wearing the Myers mask is because Michael thought it was his sub conscious telling him to go kill Nora how else can u explain it haha
Well, James Rolfe said in his review of this film regarding that scene that Freddie was thinking Michael was one of his crew members trying to ruin the effect he was pulling. "I ain't paying you to be Michael Myers! I'M playing Michael Myers! If them kids come around and see us dressed up in the same shit, you're gonna ruin the whole effect!"
I saw a fanedit called Halloween Homecoming where the faneditor removed Busta Rhymes from the end scene make him die with the stabs on the back. Way better ending
Great review. And u are right about how they treated Myers in the film. And I am honestly surprised that Myers didn't kill him right away when he was mocking him and hit his head.
Halloween Resurrection was good. Why people hated this movie so much? They always saying "Halloween: Resurrection never happened". I don't care! It's just a movie
Resurrection has grown on me over the years... It's still one of the lesser sequels, but it does makes me laugh. I don't take it too seriously. It's bad but entertaining. I like it better than the two Rob Zombie films.
This was actually the first of the series I watched in it's entirety. I was 11 when it came out. I was familiar with Michael Myers and saw parts of the series on TV, but that is it. I LOVED THIS. It was fun. Felt like a typical teen type slasher movie of the late 90s/early 2000s. That modern feel to it with internet really appealed to me at that age. That is proof that the only reason we think it is bad is because it's different, not the same plot for the 8th time.
Your reviews just keep getting better and better! This is one of my favorite reviews I've seen. Very accurate, comprehensive and informative. And your editing is really great!
“What is Tyra Banks doing in this movie?” Thank you! Her AND Busta Rhymes were ridiculous, and I don’t see either one of them as being “decent” actors-in ANYTHING......
I'm guessing her show was big at the time so they brought her in to get the film more publicity. Basically that stunt casting "casting a celebrity who can't act in an acting role to try and get people talking and get that celebrity's fans to watch the film" thing. It's the same reason they put Kelly Rowland in Freddy vs Jason and cast Rihanna as Marion Crane for 2 episodes of Bates Motel's last season. They cast Ariana Grande in that Scream Queens show even though she's not a scream queen for that as well I think.
I think one of the main reasons why I love this film is the main reason that I like Batman Forever is that it's so funny and it takes itself so seriously the first two parts of the movie or like a traditional Halloween movie but the third part with Busta Rhymes just makes me laugh every time and I don't know why I just like this film

i actually liked when the two myers meet eachother. it brought him into realizing that people werent really afraid of him, like the joke he kinda became.
For me, this movie's plot is very simple. We have a man (Michael) who needs to take care of some unfinished business (killing Laurie) and finally completes his mission. Now all he wants to do is go home, kick his feet up and relax. So he does until he notices that there's a bunch of trespassers in his house. What's a serial killer to do? Suddenly he's back in business again! Then we end up with that horrible ending. Sigh. All in all, I think that this movie had some redeeming qualities to it and it felt more like a Halloween movie than Halloween:H20 did. It's not as bad as a lot of people make it out to be.
chance webb brad loree portrayed mm.he's a Canadian stuntman and since resurrection was filmed in Vancouver which is brad loree's hometown they chose brad.
I also took great offense personally to Busta throwing kicks at Michael. Not just for the level of disrespect toward Michael as a adversary. But also as a martial artist myself I started learning the craft in 1995. I respect it to the bottom of my heart ,and to see "Freddie". Watch a mock kung fu movie, and then think that he can kick ass now. Just from watching a fight movie it really made my blood boil. Martial arts takes many years of dedication and discipline to master. It's not simply punching and kicking you can't do what Freddie does.
Xehanort10 that also brings up a solid complaint with H20. Michael spared people in H20 the mother with her little daughter ,and private school guard Ronnie. I get it none of us would want them dead because we can identify with them. But Michael isn't sympathetic those were openings for a kill. They were in his way Michael wouldn't just take their purse ,or walk past them. But back to Resurrection they really dropped the ball with the character set ups. There's some who deserved to die like Jenn, and the one guy who's just trying to self promote himself. "We could be searching through the house while drinking Mountain Dew!" But Freddie was the worst he used the college kids, for his own selfish reasons. He set up fake products to imply Michael was abused, impersonated Michael Myers all for ratings, and took on Michael. By the very rules of horror movies Freddie should've been a 2nd or 3rd act kill. There's no redeeming qualities to Freddie as a character. He even tried to bribe them with more money. To play along with the act for fame ,and the movie let him live. So he could make a speech at the end like "see everybody he learned a moral lesson". When based on his past actions he could easily be doing that. To boost himself up for fame as a survivor of Michael Myers. In front of the camera crew to get what he wants: media attention.
Yep. He's indirectly responsible for the deaths of everyone Michael killed in the film because even though he didn't know Michael lived under the house he still sent them in there which caused Michael to target and kill them and like you say filled the house with fake props to make it look like Michael was abused as a kid even though he wasn't and lied that the show was about discovering what made him kill when all it was about was about Freddie's greedy ass making money. The fact that his only excuse for the show being fake when they found out he was dressed as Michael was "America don't like reality first of all. Second of all they think this shit is boring" was pathetic. When Michael grabbed him by the leg he should have ripped it off.
Don't forget Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers. Got the most negative reviews by the critics. Also Resurrection made 34 million while Curse made roughly 15 million in the box office. In H6 Michael pregnated Jamie and Dr. Terence Wynn tried to control him. Jamie was killed. And the fact that they went on to explain everything about Michael. In Halloween: Resurrection they killed Laurie Strode in the first act which was the biggest mistake this movie ever made. Busta Rhyme's character was the 2nd biggest mistake. That guy can't atc. If the entire movie took place in the sanitarium it would have been a nice homage to the original Halloween II. Or if they would have brought back Molly and John from H20 it would have been amazing aswell.
I really like this Halloween...rhymes and banks were wete put in to appeal to the young hip hop generation at the time...I was one of them and it drew me in and made me go back and watch all the Halloween
Great video! I just watched this movie for the first time a month ago and concluded that Resurrection is about a tired, aging man who finally achieves his life goal. He then just wants to go home and retire to a quiet life, snacking on rats, but these damn kids are in his home, causing a raucous. So he's got one last job to do ... oh and Tyra Banks makes a mean cappuccino.
Also I would like to point out,the reason why they had Busta Rymes do a round house kick to Myers, and some martial arts stuff,is because Brad Loree who played the shape in resurrection,is a Bruce Lee fan.
I bought this as soon as it came out on video i was excited to see what would happen after H20 and how Michael would come back, you can imagine my disappointment. I watched Resurrection a few weeks ago for only the third time, it hadn't got better lol. I do like Michael and the mask, and like you i quite like the stuff at Smithsgrove, i also thought a film set there would have been good, similar to Halloween 2. But how they explained the decapitation, Laurie 's cop out death, and almost everything after that was wrong, there were a few decent kills but that's all i can say that is positive.
Also seeing that the coroner would take the mask off his head he probably would have figured out what happened because there was a missing ambulance driver.. But I like the idea of it all taking place in Smith’s Grove. Kinda like Arkahm Asylum.
I don’t blame rick. This was just a bad time in movie styles. Tail end of the “smartass” teen movies, internet is still in its infancy, and hip hop stars were invading horror movies (see also Freddy vs Jason)
“"Michael Myers is not a sound bite, a spin-off, a tie-in, some kind of celebrity scandal. Michael Myers is a killer... shark , in baggy ass overalls that gets his kicks off of killing everything and everyone that he comes across”
I agree with you about daytime kills, BUT if done right you can get a good kill. When Michael kills Debra in Halloween 6 with the axe (still one of my favorites of the franchise) you see so much evil in his face it's unreal. Then I really liked when Michael killed Tina's bf in Halloween 5 with the crazy garden tool.
In H20 before she chops his head off, he grabs the mask and looks puzzled then reaches his hand out, it’s hard to look over resurrection when, like you said it was planned.
I'm probably the only one who really liked the surprise twist in the beginning of Resurrection on how Michael got away. I thought it was clever and left me going "Oh shit! so that's how he escaped ok awesome!"
When Laurie got killed off in the beginning I wasn't as pissed as everybody else was. I know it sucks that she died, but at the time this was considered the last Halloween film to be made so it didn't bother me or piss me off. I accepted it. Nobody back in 2002 knew that Rob Zombie would launch his films and bring Halloween back and resurrect this franchise kind of. Resurrection isn't the best film of the franchise, but there's a lot of great moments in it where they do a great job. This movie never feels like 94 minutes lost. I always look forward watching it even though how horrible Busta Rhymes is. He's the worst part of Resurrection ugh why did they pick him? This might sound shocking, but I put Resurrection in my top 5 favorites. I defend this movie hard, I'm going to get some hate comments down below after this lol. I hope there's some fans out there who defend it in some weird way.
Lee “what is Tyra Banks Doing?” Lol 😂 you are hilarious! She sure was twerking and dancing hunty in that garage. Making that Frappuccino, I agree she is a pretty decent actress and could’ve done more than watching the camera and sitting in the garage on the sideline. I watched your original review video and I’m now here. I actually can’t sleep and been in a bit of a horror mood so revisited, Halloween Resurrection. 🕯🔪🎃 Though it certainly has its issues and what not, I like it overall it’s watchable/entertaining. However awesome Review Lee, thank you for this update/revisit I hope you’ve been doing well as can be...
Just watched with daughter to finish series before school started her first watching of the series so it's fresh in my mind , I will say if you have watched the version as the characters are killed through their cameras ? Which is on my copy it's rather an interesting way to see it which I suspect didn't catch on the way studio intended , if you have seen it let me know if you liked seeing the kills and house searching from first point of view of characters
I have the Blu-Ray boxed set, and have never opened this one up yet. I've watched it before granted, but that was enough. I did enjoy hearing your thoughts, but alas you cannot polish a turd. :)
I will say this about Ressurection, and the Halloween franchise as a whole. As bad as some entries are, they never really jumped the shark. Sure Curse had too many supernatural elements, but it still felt grounded in what the series was. Compare that to something like Jason X
Considering John Carpenter was hired to clean up Rosenthal’s mess because they weren’t impressed with what he filmed, so a lot could go wrong apparently.
When you said you almost walked out when Busta Rhymes round housed Michael I almost called the emergency room! Hahahah! I was pissssed when Laury was killed! It was the beginning of me feeling the writing started slipping in Hollywood. How could they!
I love your reviews! I found you via Cody Leach. I so enjoy your earnest approach. You are brutally honest & you say what you feel, but it's in an eloquent, grown man sort of way. Clearly, you love this franchise, Michael Myers, and horror films as a whole as much as I & the other true horror hounds! You are passionate about films, and the importance of everything involved- the treatment & writing, the directing, the casting/acting, lighting, cinematography, the score/music & the tone/mood/aura. *YOU GET IT.* 👏🏻👌🏻🙌🏻 I'm so excited to watch all of your reviews & take each journey with you. Thank you for your hard work! #FeelTheseNipples 🤣😉😂
Fantastic review! Have you seen Don’t Open Till Christmas or Slaughter High? They are both British movies. You should check them out. They will also make great reviews.
Hey man, I rarely comment on youtube videos but I've watched and enjoyed all of your Halloween reviews. I'm a huge fan of the "big 3" franchises (well 5 if you count Psycho and Chucky), but the Halloween series has and always will be my favorite. That being said, I was never really a fan of Resurrection agree with what you said in your original review that a reboot should have been done after H20. If H20 included the one scene that was never filmed where there was a mention of the events of 4-6 and had a different actor/stuntman playing Michael, that would've been the perfect ending. I'm glad to have found your channel along with WWAM and Sinister Cinema, nice to know I'm not the only one in our generation still obsessed with old school slasher films lol. Can't wait til October 19!!

ha that "for all of them" kills me every time
I also took great offense personally to Busta throwing kicks at Michael.
"We could be searching through the house while drinking Mountain Dew!"
But Freddie was the worst he used the college kids, for his own selfish reasons.
Dang I didn't realize this but you did the stream on my birthday, August 18th
Busta Rhymes was recently asked if he would fight Tong Po and he replied "GIVE ME TONG PO"
This film is still as bad as it was when I first seen it back in 2002. It's one of those type of movies you wish didn't exist.
Wglass90 I disagree
Wayne Dobbs I still disagree. It’s epic.
9/11 f'd up everyone for many years afterward. I blame Bin Laden and W.
The daytime kill in Halloween 6 in the backyard by the clothes lines. The tension and then the reveal -- One of the best!
Facts the laundry room kill was dope
I really like this Halloween...rhymes and banks were wete put in to appeal to the young hip hop generation at the time...I was one of them and it drew me in and made me go back and watch all the Halloween
I do have some fun with it when I watch it.
Haha that's a great way to look at it!
Do i see a shotgun Messiah CD in the background ? Love that band.
Hell yeah. One of my favorite bands.
Also this is the 4th film in a row where they killed a surviving character in the first few minutes after Rachel, Jamie and Marion Chambers.
Also seeing that the coroner would take the mask off his head he probably would have figured out what happened because there was a missing ambulance driver.. But I like the idea of it all taking place in Smith’s Grove. Kinda like Arkahm Asylum.
I have a huge soft spot for this movie
I don’t blame rick. This was just a bad time in movie styles. Tail end of the “smartass” teen movies, internet is still in its infancy, and hip hop stars were invading horror movies (see also Freddy vs Jason)
Kelly Rowland isn't a hip hop star...

And FvJ wasn't THAT ghetto!
This review was actually pretty funny!!!
Haha thank you!
You know they already made a movie where Michael Myers stalks Loire around a hospital while killing people all along the way. It’s called Halloween 2.
@@DKdevilplayground Nice!
I haven't seen the whole review but I will say. Halloween Resurrection is fun to watch with a crowd. It's so bad it's hilarious.
Haha indeed!
I needed a bottle of Mad Dog 20/20 after watching this movie. Lol.
That guy that was fighting myeres with the knifes is the dude from the movie Barbershop
Very Cool Keep Up The Great Work Dude
Just watched with daughter to finish series before school started her first watching of the series so it's fresh in my mind , I will say if you have watched the version as the characters are killed through their cameras ? Which is on my copy it's rather an interesting way to see it which I suspect didn't catch on the way studio intended , if you have seen it let me know if you liked seeing the kills and house searching from first point of view of characters
Random person: Halloween ends is the worst Halloween film ever made
Halloween resurrection: hold my beer
I think busta rhymes was the best thing about this movie gotta love that kick! :D
grabs popcorn.
This shall be interesting. loool
I have the Blu-Ray boxed set, and have never opened this one up yet. I've watched it before granted, but that was enough. I did enjoy hearing your thoughts, but alas you cannot polish a turd. :)
A turd painted gold is still a turd as they say.
I will say this about Ressurection, and the Halloween franchise as a whole. As bad as some entries are, they never really jumped the shark. Sure Curse had too many supernatural elements, but it still felt grounded in what the series was. Compare that to something like Jason X
Great point!
You're actually right about that, heck even Chucky jumped the shark
*YOU GET IT.* 👏🏻👌🏻🙌🏻
I'm so excited to watch all of your reviews & take each journey with you. Thank you for your hard work!
#FeelTheseNipples 🤣😉😂
Wow that you so much. Really appreciate the kind words. And welcome to the channel!
@@DrumdumsOfficial Thank you! I'm excited to be a new member of this channel!
Resurrection made Rob Zombie's Halloween and Halloween 2 look like Citizen Kane and Shakespeare.
Thanks so much Mark! Really appreciate the kind words brother.
I do like how this one kind of pokes fun at reality TV
Yeah this came out soon after the reality tv craze.
I like the camera tripod kill. I always figured it was an homage to the way the killer offs his victims in the 1960’s slasher film, Peeping Tom
Yeah I've actually heard about this. I haven't seen Peeping Tom yet, but I plan on it.
It’s pretty good
