I'm actually glad the moon roof is not larger. I don't need all that glass to attract heat here in S. E, TX. And I do really like the ratcheting-arm rest. I like that its' adjustable.
Really enjoying my new, Obsidian Blue, Touring, 2WD, Passport. Great review here.

I think this will be a better buy than the Chevy Blazer because of the Honda reliability and standard suite of safety equipment and the V6 across all trims. As for comparison with the new 2020 Subaru Outback, I suspect the Subaru (with standard AWD) will be priced lower than this Honda, but we will have to wait until it is released to do a comparison.

Quite a few tech items to aide the driver...good comfort ...Great motor and tranny...not much not to like
All for 40 not 50K...not the deal value of a Subaru ..but hard to argue "It's a Honda" resale above average
Base model cheaper...and it's a l👀ker......no one will question the decision to buy this Honda...It's got it all

For those who talk about the arm rest, you guys need to think about us short people. For me a car without the individual captain arm rest like shown here is near impossible to drive. In fact, they removed this feature from CRV’s so when it was time to return my lease I decided to purchase a CRV just to return to the dealer the next day and return the new car to purchase my old leased car due to how uncomfortable it was for me to drive as my elbow could not not reach the center console while I was driving. Therefore, to me this is HUGE plus and I only hope they put this back into a CRV as I have been waiting for them to bring this feature cal to purchase a new one. I would buy this one if the pilot in a heart beat but si can’t really afford to pay more than what a CRV cost. I have read lots of reviews online with the same complain because not everyone out there is tall and mostly women appreciate the individual arm rests as well as the great space in between the seats to put our purse and other things without anyone knowing it’s there.

The Passport is nice, and has a higher output non turbo V6 engine and real transmission, not a CVT. The engine with the 100 extra horsepower over the Forester and others Trumps anything in it's class. The Elite is really well equipped and appointed, but expensive. The Sport is more affordable, but the one Black I saw today was just over $36K before the $3K dealership scalping. You would think for about $1500 over the Civic Sport, it could have had the upgraded radio, instead of the basic one, but I heard even the Sport has a subwoofer near the temporary spare tire. They have aftermarket radios with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a CD player, but I don't know how all the vehicles features integrated into the radio, including the backup camera monitor would be retained, as I don't think those aftermarket decks accommodate those features. Honda should make it easy to get the upgraded radio and easily swap it with the base radio in their vehicles. Other than the usual trim and equipment differences, and zonks, it's basically one of the best mid sized SUVs now. The Sport wheels are nice for the entry level, especially more on the street, yet still moderately off road capable here to go off the pavement with our beaches and other unpaved areas...

A great replacement for Subaru Forester as they screwed it completely with CVT and lackluster 2.5 liter, not making it available with a 6 cylinder. If this was rear wheel biased or all time AWD, it would the ultimate SUV. The CX5 has the tiniest seats I’ve ever seen, they are horrible to sit in and the RAV4 seems like it got good competition. Not really sure who else it competes with where reliability is not an issue

If I'm not mistaken, the pilot and ridgeline are all time all wheel drive. They're the same with Acura sh AWD except for the electronics/programming. I believe the passport is as well. They have thrust vectoring which it can send 70% of engine power to the rear wheels and all that to EACH of the rear wheel, left or right depending on turn.

I took a hard look at it at a dealer a couple of weeks back and decided against it. IMHO, Honda is looking to rip people off with this thing. With every other Honda, the Sport models comes with Apple Carplay, but for the Passport, you have to go up to the EX for that. For some offroad, you'd likely want AWD. Having to get the EX for Carplay and AWD makes the vehicle overpriced compared to options from Toyota. I decided the new Rav4 would meet my needs, be a good bit cheaper AND get much better MPG.

Funny that just is a real show stopper for me I don't know why Honda won't let that go. The rest of this SUV is really nice and probably the best looking Honda I've seen in years. Can't tow anything with that Passport, it doesn't have a hitch receiver (and haven't seen an option for it on the Honda website). What, no VTM-4 lock, how do you keep in it locked into lower gears, ie 1st and 2nd gear?. And Honda, go back to the "Lane Watch" camera's, much better than the orange lights.

Recently, I have been driven by Range Rover Sport, from 2019, and to my surprise the same type of armrest is there with roller wheel that let you position armrest per your preference. My wife loves Pilot, and area between two armrest on front seats she use for her purse. Her comment is finally I can have my purse next to me, here.
I’m more for full size armrest between front seats. Somehow it goes with SUVs.

"Do some research?" Uncalled for reply.
A cubby is a cubby. Literally. If there is not a CD player, then there is a Cubby. The Honda engineers should have taken into consideration what would be in the vehicle without a CD. the engineers apparently did not take that into consideration... Or perhaps they did. But we see the results of that decision.

With all that cargo space you don’t need a luggage rack, I for one don’t want my luggage hanging out on the roof of my car, and it has nothing to do with saving costs as they are extremely inexpensive to install, consumers just basically stated they don’t use them or like how they look and they got rid of them

    • @GarmentofPraiseSewing
      @GarmentofPraiseSewing 3 года назад

I don’t like that the rack wasn’t included being that this is a SUV. Huge disappointment......it’s a part of the SUV styling. They’re saving money but overpricing include the darn roof racks for the SUV.
