"Hamas became ISIS, and the Citizens of Gaza are celebrating instead of being horrified" Ironic considering ISIS was an ally of Israel, which was used to destabilize and pervert Islam, whereas Hamas are fighting for the Palestinian's futures, also 1 group destroyed cultural sites and killed civilians who didn't share the same religion, the other side killed civilians while trying to take hostages to negotiate for several thousand hostages, and did suicide bombings after many massacres which went unpunished (remember, for all that Hamas did, Israel still killed more Palestinians during those years, I somehow doubt Hamas was the one desiring civilian deaths), the list goes on.
The problem with destinys take is not that he sees this and thinks its ok. The problem is he sees all this and says “theres no proof that israel is purposely killing civilians. Those civilian deaths are just collateral damage”. Like i dont get anyone that sees all this disgusting acts and says of its unavoidable its just war or they are just collateral damage. Its absolutely avoidable and i know theres no proof but for example in court of law we dont need concrete proof. We decide if someones guilty with circumstantial evidence. There’s absolutely tons of circumstantial evidence that israel is killing civilians intentionally.
Destiny is the kind of liberal, who after the holocaust, and all the dirty laundry of the Nazis comes out, would say that they didn't break the law, and he doesn't see what they did wrong because objectively the Jews escaping the concentration camps and behaving as terrorists were the ones breaking the law, if he were a German, and if he were a member of the allied powers he'd say "oh the horror", and if he were uninvolved he'd say "boo-hoo white men killing white men, we've got our own problems here at home why do you guys give a fuck about them?" I don't think a team of qualified profesional lawyers working exclusively to make the case, with the resources South Africa is putting at their disposal, with so many eyes internationally set on their work, would be unable to compile an even better case.

So rare and refreshing to see someone speaking on the actual and complete definition of Raphael Lemkin's word/concept. Genocide requires no massive death toll, and certainly not a total eradication of a given group of people. I salute Noah as well as Hasan for showcasing his work.

I have listened to a lot of horrible things online over the years, but nothing has broken me down and made me cry like listening to Noah describe a mutilated child fighting for his survival for days.
This video has been the most emotionally difficult thing I’ve heard. We see alot of the destruction in Palestine, but we never get to hear directly the lives of these victims of genocide/ethnic cleansing before they pass because of the disgusting sin of having been born in the wrong place.
Noah samsen is truly an amazing person for putting in the work to put this out.

when they actually say the name of the fallacy, thats how you know they're debatelords with no actual critical thinking skills. a person who's actually skilled at breaking down arguments will just explain the fallacy in context while implicitly recognizing the fallacy, whereas destiny viewers just eagerly name fallacies like pokemon. part of it is also to sound esoteric and try to unnecessarily convolute the discussion.

Formatted competitive HS/College Debate often starts with an understanding of logic but like dangmemester said often any logic/ethical concerns about why you debate and what constitutes a good debate. Just get arguments out and often most easily win by just overloading the competition and then claiming "they conceded my point by not answering it entirely"

I’m so glad that Noah did this. I used to be able to watch Destiny until his Israel position, since which I haven’t been able to look upon his image without my blood pressure rising and overwhelming feelings of disgust towards him arise. The fact that "the population is increasing so its not genocide" is said is so crazy to me. Isnt Mao's great leap forward often called a genocide? This entire ordeal is so depressing to watch because I know that everyone calling for a ceasefire is objectively in the right, yet we’re all powerless to do anything, and on top of it we’re made to feel like we’re actually the ones supporting terrorists, even though we can see live right in front of us the countless videos containing the bodies of children killed by Israel. And It’s so awful to see some people “coming to the realization” that things are bad. When Piers Morgan brought Norm Finkelstein and Shmuley on to talk about the ongoing ethnic cleansing, Piers was pretending like he was way against what was going on in Gaza even though for the four months before this he couldn’t stop asking his guests to condemn Hamas and would make it seem like calling for a ceasefire is actually worse than what Israel was and is continuing to do. It’s going to be so insufferable when, in the future, those who supported this genocide will pretend they didn’t support it and/or will make it seem like we didn’t know what was going on or that there was no way to intervene. That excuse didn’t work for German civilians in WW2 and they had infinitely less access to images of the horrors that were happening compared to what we see live all over social media now. In a just world, there’d be accountability for those who have cheered Israel on at every turn, only to maybe in the future turn heel. Unfortunately I don’t know if anything will come to those who deserve it.

i find the targeting of the educated and thinkers aswell as journalist especially telling, that seems like someone is specifically targeting education, culture and information flow.
altho it remains: how to get rid of extremist fundamentalist groups is still very hard. even if hamas existence is somewhat justified they still engage in very brutal warfare against civilians wich have nothing to do with it, targeting civilians is not justifyable and their goal of destroying israel probably isnt justified either because most israelis arent zionists or settlers, the same goes for palestine, most palestinians arent part of hamas. yet each of these non involved people are the most targeted, the innocent. even if israeli "occupied" area doesnt "belong" to them you cant just genocide them in return, coexistence would be preferable, but how likely is that? just because the israeli government is as corrupt as typical first world country governments are i dont think condemning the civilian population is the right call.
but maybe in the end its just a game, both countries need their population to be indoctrinated to hate each other so war can happen and be "justified", if civilians of countries are never indoctrinated i dont think wars could happen. i think humans fundamentally seek cooperation peace and love unless they are indoctrinated from birth that there is someone they are supposed to hate.

As pessimistic and cynical as this sounds. As a Palestinian-American who has borne witness to the normally closeted hatred the bulk of the West feels towards my own people. And how the only people seemingly in our corner among them have no real political influence to speak of.
I’ve reluctantly come to accept that in due time the only Palestinians that will be left anywhere in the world will be part of the global diaspora. As for what remains of our native homeland it will be nothing more than a de facto giant cemetery of our culture, ancestors, and nation.
