haha I’m picturing that chatter enthusiastically reading the bible all like “omg, so true!” my guy, there’s more magic happening in that book than in harry potter
My favorite part is where he suggests the bible _doesn't_ include a woman giving her husband a sex slave (who was likely a child at the time) to rape only for the woman to then "cruelly torture" (direct quote) the sex slave and cause her to flee the home specifically because the sex slave became pregnant exactly like the woman wanted. He definitely didn't mention the part where God was so furious that a pregnant sex slave would no longer be raped and beaten that he sent an angel after her as a literal slave catcher who then forced her to return to her masters who then continued to beat and torture her before throwing her and her child out into the desert to die later in the story. Super chill stuff.
@@rat8294 Sure thing! Here's the majority of it, anyway. The part where the slave (Hagar) and the child (Ishmael) are thrown out is in a later chapter, but the bulk of it is in Genesis 16. The only part of this chapter that I didn't include was basically the end part, "And Hagar bore Abram a son; and Abram called the name of his son, whom Hagar bore, Ishmael." Genesis 16:3-9 So after Abram had been living in Canaan ten years, Sarai his wife took her Egyptian slave Hagar and gave her to her husband to be his wife. He slept with Hagar, and she conceived. When she knew she was pregnant, she began to despise her mistress. Then Sarai said to Abram, “You are responsible for the wrong I am suffering. I put my slave in your arms, and now that she knows she is pregnant, she despises me. May the Lord judge between you and me.” “Your slave is in your hands,” Abram said. “Do with her whatever you think best.” Then Sarai cruelly tortured Hagar; so she fled from her. The angel of the Lord found Hagar near a spring in the desert; it was the spring that is beside the road to Shur. And he said, “Hagar, slave of Sarai, where have you come from, and where are you going?” “I’m running away from my mistress Sarai,” she answered. Then the angel of the Lord told her, “Go back to your mistress and submit to her."

I disagree that you can really separate some adherents to Christianity or Islam from others based on whether they do or do not accept the worst parts of their religious texts. Sure someone that doesn't take it all literally is "better" than someone that takes it all literally and believes the bad parts (most of both of the books)...but in my opinion, the non-literal interpretation is nothing but as the kids say.. copium essentially, its wrong its not the intention behind the books...but more importantly.. its still putting blind faith into something just because it makes them feel good or whatever, all of the good parts can be gotten elsewhere with out the need to adhere to a book written at a time when slavery was normalized and where non-believers were all seen as enemies. It sets all these people up to be extra susceptible to misinformation and propaganda. If blind faith is ok for such a major question as the reality of the universe.. then its acceptable for small things like politics etc.
I mean, its just people literally basing their reality on a book. Spirituality is fine, but when a fictional text dictates your morality, ehhh. The texts themselves are fine, the stories are really good, but why do we take them as literal facts.
Ima hit you with a long paragraph because I like your initial point but think you can use an alternative perspective. I do agree with you in that he's wrong to separate the book from the followers. I do think it's a cop-out argument that ultimately does a disservice to a religious person's position. You can't say you believe in something, and also say that half of it is bullshit fables. My issue with your perspective is that you are treating both religions, and I assume all religions, as a monolith. You are assuming that both like to sweep verses, that don't align with modern liberal values, under the rug. As a Muslim, I can tell you that neither I, nor any Muslim that I know, shy away from our book and our religious teachings. If there are concerns you have with my religion than I guarantee you that your question has already been answered by a number of Islamic scholars. The short summary of the concerns of most modern liberals is that they judge the morals of those teaching by the standards of today while also automatically assuming that everything in the liberal moral compass is 100% the correct way and anyone who believes otherwise is immoral. It's easy enough to say that everyone should just know that killing is bad, but understanding that people 1400 years ago lived in the bad lands inside mudhut and tents and had to fight to survive requires reading of a history book. They, the arabs of the time, buried their daughters alive because it was seen as shameful to have a daughter, so you can see how they really needed a book like the Quran to civilize them. The arabs which ultimately became the Islamic world, evolved because of those books, not in spite of them. Your last point about us religious people being susceptible to misinformation is an arragont assumption to make. Everyone is susceptible to misinformation. You yourself probably believe/believed some bullshit that someone else fed you at some point. It's a lazy thing to just point your finger at religious people and assume they're intellectually gulliable when just about anyone can fall into that trap.

The 2 most rtrdded people on Earth 🙏🙏
Hassan, ignore the hasbara trolls in your chat
You know you are facing zealots and cultist when their faith came from a book which had undergone 30,000 changes to suit the modern standards.
The bible claims Pi is 3, as a mathematician and astrophysicist, I will be claiming hours lost back from reading the fairy story book when I reach the gates of hell.
Does anyone know why won’t Norm come on hasans broadcast?
Cause he has self respect and realizes how trashy streaming is.
mista bonanno
Remember when jizzrael called themselves “the most moral army?”
Why 1.5x the video. Since when?
Exodus 12:7:11
14:28. Norman might want to see the vitriol and mis-representation of ex-Tory MP Alan Duncan, for calling out the Israeli actions in Gaza... and criticizing his own party for collusion with the Netanyahu government.
When he put that leg up and we could see it: immediately I said “why does Norm have such thick ass calves wtf?!”
All the altar boys showed up on the chat to fight Hasan today. The worst thing about religion are these guys. I always say “Lawd save us from your followers”.
12:44 bro should read the book of LOT if he thinks theres no fucked up stories in the bible.
i think the moral of the story is you can give up your daughters to be gangraped if you get to save a random stranger who tells you “im a angel”
Bald man bear? like, the strait near yemen?
27:51 that’s what they do. They divert when it’s time to talk about the bible😂😂😂
But dolus specialis 🤓☝
U forgor the latin word you must not know anything
Admittedly I think the "30 children" were 30 teenagers that were beating up and assaulting an old man... so justifiable bear chow. 🐻
Based Finkelstein parents
Mr Pikerelli
Pity about Hasan's comments.
No sound no hd?
The video is 15 seconds old! RUclips needs to finish processing it, but everything should be okay if you try again in a minute or two :)
I learned something today.
@@HasanReactionsfanTwo oh sorry
Don't worry, everybody's gotta learn for the first time at least once!
@@HasanReactionsfanTwo yeah ty. I'm recovering from a surgery and I have nothing to do but watching and playing so I've never been this fast to a video I think lol
yeah, Moses was burning that gas fs
A shame Norm drops all objectivity when Ukraine is mentioned...
Bullshit, Israel and Ukraine are allies.
No sound
You're too fast! RUclips likes to publish videos a bit before they're actually done processing it, especially on mobile, everything should be okay if you try again in a couple minutes :)
As good as he is with his work on palestian, his other politics are actually shit, he is kind of a social democrat/liberal an actual principled person, but still just a liberal.
I am uninformed. Does Hasan chat actually like Stalin?
Mary is a respected figure in all three religions so stop using the F word with her name please
@8:50 Hasan, Finkelstein clearly critiqued the absents of Islam regarding legal action when he said 'the fact that South Africa went to bat for Palestine; not one Arab State??' That's a lot of people of one religion to act in unison to not support Gaza. Strange, Arab league is also fine with civil war in Sudan during Ramadan...Yet you say a few people's actions do not represent the religion??
Arab league is a political organization run by power players, not a democratic polity that responds to civilians.
How many Arab leaders have their hands tied behind their backs because of fear of US retaliation?
Ok im leaving
Hasan failing to research literally anything yet again kms
Finkelstein reads a lot of stuff, but he is very bad in understanding what he reads. So when he got up as an academic without the internet, where all data is very easily accessible this was an impressive feat and the basis of his academic career, but now, with all info easily available, his absolute inability to analyse data, becomes clownish. He is a complete joke and would nowadays not able anymore to make a career.
Ok how is Finklestein a Goat? He's right on only this issue pretty much
This issue is pretty big tho. Also it 's his life's work, and he's VERY right on it
I mean. This issue literally defines norms work so. Yea?
His right in the only issue he claims to have a deep knowledge about...
@@JoeDixon02if he’s so right why isn’t his work cited?
@@thilli1859 he is cited allllllllll the time. What is up with this insane take that norm is not a historian who is cited in the the field of work he has been in for decades? Like we get it, you want to just stamp your feet and call him a self hating Jew… but that doesn’t take away from the fact he is cited. Daily.
