Many years ago I hopped on Hasan’s IG live and needed to explaining “woke” to him. This threw me back. Appreciate Noah’s effort, but gd, woke didn’t start in the 2010s.
This phrase was coined in the 40’s. It absolutely was used in early 2010s, but the context has changed over time. It used to have a much better connotation, staying “woke” was being aware of issues that most people ignore. It didn’t get used in this context until people started using it to describe progressive movements in modern society that they don’t like
I saw Bill burbaggins live and ge didn't mention cancel culture he did make fun of trump. The biggest thing I took away from this is Hasan doesn't listen to music.
Yes. That’s generally the way we look at comics, because the entire point of their profession is to make people laugh. Same way we don’t try to persecute directors for making movies about bad situations/people.
Yes. If you're racist, misogynistic, or queerphobic be a comedian! Not only will u be able 2 say bad things about women, but you'll be defended if u actually harm some of us!
I'd never heard of David Goggins until now. A quick scan of his Wikipedia entry suggests that he's not about working out for its own sake. Pretty inspirational stuff- he overcame a lot (extreme racism, child abuse, toxic stress, social anxiety, stuttering) and has achieved a lot. I think that's why he presents as such an obnoxious "PUSH YOURSELF TO THE LIMIT!" kind of person. It's what worked for him.

Madonna was more woke in the 80s than she is now. She was extremely woke for her time back then and she was extremely beautiful. Now she’s more conservative and she looks like an alien.
_“woke for her time”_ -so *not* woke, since you had to add the disqualifier 😂
I'm so lost on that anime McDonald's ad. What's woke about it?
That the male character is not masculine enough?
Tbh they call everything woke these days so I really have no clue anymore lol
They weren’t calling it rare. They were in fact happy that there wasn’t wokeness in the ad because there was nuclear family.
I hope the dad is actually gay and the mum in cheating on him with multiple men. Just to piss right wingers off.
The ad itself isn't woke, they are saying that non-woke stuff makes them angry too because it reminds them that there isn't enough "straight representation".
They can literally get mad at anything
@@loveableheathen7441dude, when it was trending (for like a day), people were trying to say thinking adorable child is adorable was somehow outing yourself as a pdf.
They've lost their fucking minds.
Hasan is such a baby about Bill burr lol. Mfs called him unfunny and cringe for his weird sjw bit.. and hasan said 🤬
I know right? Why is Has so defensive about Billy in this one? I've disliked Bill Burr forever, and it's not for the reasons Hasan mentioned here. I just also don't give a shit if people like him.
He says people that criticize Bill Burr don’t understand comedy which is so bad faith
@@Guitardestruct😂 He's a good comedian, who of course has bad takes sometimes. He's not perfect, no one is. Neither is Hasan. I don't get why everyone has such negative opinions about Burr?
He's doing his job. He isn't racist. He's a bit of a boomer, but still, he's literally the best person to come out of Boston ever! And the only good one 😂
I know you don't speak for all the haters, I understand that. But what in your opinion is problematic about him?
I'm not trying to be rude or bad faith, I'm just curious why this community in particular is so averse to Billy, given that the host, Hasan, is defending him every opportunity he gets? I'm assuming you have experiences outside the community that put you off him?
@@viktorbirkeland6520 Maybe my comment comes off too strong. My problem is the way Hasan is defending him, as if it's the objectively correct opinion to like Bill. Which it isn't.
I also don't find Bill problematic, I just don't like his style of comedy as well as his demeanor. I also don't like the way he comes off in a lot of interviews.
He's very particular and that's probably why people often have either a love or hate opinion on him.
@@dqarqeer8603 Yea dude he was like in a super serious debate with someone and that's such a big nono please shut up dork
We need an "AdBlock on every PC" mandate to stop this insane and inane debate.
Enemies, enemies everywhere. The more you defeat the more new ones stand up. Every new one closer and harder to overcome. They could have been friends if only you could have struggled with the enemies within first.
The bill burr defense team in the comments goin crazy💀💀Noah criticized and joked a lil about one of bill’s takes and the comments are up in arms about it😭🤦🏾♂️corny af
I mean people are mainly criticizing him because he is incredibly stupid
Hasan defending bill like he personally knows him😂
One refresh and there's a new vid :)
I cannot woke believe how much woke wokery I am being woke-subjected woke to. Woke
i lived in miami my whole life and in orlando for a year and he and he right about the amount of black/brown people
Why didn't all that talk of ads end with a 10/10 ad segue...?
I bought tickets to see Matt Rife live in my country next year and honestly I did expect him to get cancelled online before I get to see his show lmao
What I didn't expect though was him getting cancelled for an unfunny joke. I do like his audience interactions and I think he should stick to that because the bits and pieces i have seen from the Netflix special were all ass. Nothing that made me smile in the slightest. I also did not like his response to the online outrage but oh well. I'll still go to the show and if it's ass then at least i could travel through the country and if it's good then good for me ig
I got a prageru ad on this vid lmao
Normal "nuclear family" when red hair is recessive and that is clearly the wife's boyfriend and the husband is offscreen in bondage, smh.
That tweet sounds like something you'd hear Riley say in the Boondocks
Many years ago I hopped on Hasan’s IG live and needed to explaining “woke” to him. This threw me back. Appreciate Noah’s effort, but gd, woke didn’t start in the 2010s.
This phrase was coined in the 40’s. It absolutely was used in early 2010s, but the context has changed over time. It used to have a much better connotation, staying “woke” was being aware of issues that most people ignore. It didn’t get used in this context until people started using it to describe progressive movements in modern society that they don’t like
Im waiting until I finally see why this first bit is "woke"
I browned my pants
Imagine using TikTok, my brain would melt.🤕
I saw Bill burbaggins live and ge didn't mention cancel culture he did make fun of trump. The biggest thing I took away from this is Hasan doesn't listen to music.
if it's on stage it's ok and does not matter. it's just comedy. right? got it.
Yes. That’s generally the way we look at comics, because the entire point of their profession is to make people laugh. Same way we don’t try to persecute directors for making movies about bad situations/people.
@caseyleirer9677 enemy at the gates is actually a good film because it portrays things. Got it.
Yes. If you're racist, misogynistic, or queerphobic be a comedian! Not only will u be able 2 say bad things about women, but you'll be defended if u actually harm some of us!
Hasanabi, stop defending Bill.
I like how you just learned who he was, and also decided you know more about him lol.
Googling someone one time and coming to a conclusion, even if it’s correct is the funniest shit ever to me thank you 😂
oh lawdy.....this guy is going to get hurt one of these days i swear.....-_- please hasan....word your sentences more carefully....my family has hammered into me that its not in how you say things...its the manner in which you say it....

An add is a cultural artifact and so is a comedy routine, and therefore open to critique, with the proviso that you then take the comedy out of the latter. Can those who practice cultural criticism include a theory of comedy?
Its not that i dont like bill burr its that i dont like his fandom
Some of those fans take everything seriously and that leads to some weird mfs
Hasan's take on Bill Burr was not it. C'mon, man 🤦♀️
Bill Burr the GOAT.
Thank you, he brushed all the way over it and tried to justify it by saying he has good takes sometimes. No different than “I’m not racist, I once said MLK was a cool dude”
@sman2305 that is maybe the dumbest taken I've ever read. Maybe just stay away from comedy.
@@sman2305 if y'all just spent ten minutes listening to any of bill's stand up or his podcasts, you'd know bill isn't a chud. it's actually kind of funny so many people still think he is haha. bill consistently and regularly shoots down reactionary takes.
@@afauxican_american I wouldn’t put him in the chud category. But you’re only reaffirming what I said with your comment. “I know he said this but he said a good thing one time too bro”. Of course nobody is perfect and we’re not going to always say what’s morally correct 24/7, but to feed into anti vax/transphobe/cancel culture creeps for a set is just irresponsible. A few good takes isn’t good enough to justify it. Good takes aren’t currency you can use for when you put your foot in your mouth.
Has completely missed David Goggins message, sad.
9:30 it’s a guitar what are you talking about Hasan?

He's just doing the low-hanging fruit thing.
everyone seems to forget Aziz Ansari.
Lol, when did he get cancelled?? He's been doing tours for years, and is directing a movie right now.
Bill Burr is the GOAT
Of all the comedians to go after on cancel stiff Bill Burr is not the one. Its like trying to cancle DiCaprio for saying the n-word on Django.
You asked why are ppl writing off bill burs body of work off a 30sec clip?
The same question can be asked of Noah selection of clips. He purposely choose clips that aren't even remotely challenging to rebut.im not anti-woke but this content is weak and boring, it's not thought provoking.content ideas must be running dry.
Don't need to argue validity? Trans woman are men and trans men are women
Noah really cherry picked bill to hell and back with this video. The bias is insane.
I don’t know if you missed it but he said bill burr is funny and has better stuff he’s just talking about this “anti work thing bill was talking about because it has relevance to the video💀💀
Bill is such a brave boy, he gave himself a white family for his new movie, as opposed to representing what his life is really like.
it wasn't an autobiographical film
Al Fraken got cancelled
