I have watched this so many times and it really helped climb divs. However, I just got to div 1 and despite doing this am stuggling, the speed in which they attack lanes or areas infront of the defence and behind my cm means in always chasing rather than positioning to guide them away
This usually means you are hurting on a break point where either you're too aggressive in your attack / not switching fast enough on the counter. Or you are losing on the priority player switch. Meaning you're not going to the right player and find yourself at a disadvantage
2 questions 1 what's your preferred right stick sensitivity? 2 this style of defence seems passive? but I keep facing players that press so much I can't play. How can i learn that?
John I know you've been playing for years so you may not remember. But do you remember how long it first took you to master right stick switching and how long it usually takes your private students that you coach, to master right stick switching?
Depends on how much you care. Take 1 week and don't worry about winning. But solely focusing on right stick switching. It's something you'll never stop working on. But 1 week is plenty to first be able to use it in match. But switching is the hardest skill to master at the highest level
Hello John how can I be coached by you? I am willing to pay to take my game to the next level. I am currently in division 4 and am struggling to go forward where it maybe a skill level so I am willing to be coached to get my skill level higher
If you don't think there's value here that's fine that's your opinion. Unless you're Above one thousand sr This is all you need to know. I can't silver spoon feed you any more than this. There's no exploit to be good at defense.Besides being technical and understand when to click circle.
There is no deep dive , just keep your defence shape, be patient, learn mps , cover passing lanes, learn how to defend cut backs (r1 x2 is very useful here). That's it. This is a perfect example how pro players defends in tournaments. They never go for a tackle unless an opponent take a heavy touch, they are being patient, they keep their defence shape.
Learning is being open minded trust me what you are getting here you aren't getting anywhere in RUclips what he teaches it's not meta it's how to actually play the game the game of football.
probably the best fifa defending tutorial i've seen
I've watched this soooo many times over past few months. Superb content ❤. Exactly what I face in Elite div.
Much love brother!
ive tried it in Elite. It makes sense but John is so much more advanced and makes it look so easy yet its so hard to do
