    Great little video. Was worried about how to and how difficult it would be getting IC card for three travellers from Australia. Thanks

    Hi Lila, I would like to buy Passmo with 72-hour subway pass. Do you know which station is likely to have such old machine that you mentioned in the video?

    • @ExploreJapanWithLila
      @ExploreJapanWithLila  Месяц назад

      You are able to buy the ticket at Narita/Haneda airport.
      Also, they sell the pass at the METRO Passenger Information Desk at Ueno/Ginza. Omote-sando, Tokyo and Ikebukuro station.
      Also at BicCamera and Laox, they have the ticket.
      To buy the special ticket, you need to have your passport with you.

    Thanks for the latest update on Suica. I travel to Japan every year. Preference is Suica. Arrive at Narita in Oct 2024. Which Tokyo subway you found has vending machines to purchase Suica?

    • @ExploreJapanWithLila
      @ExploreJapanWithLila  4 месяца назад +2

      Thanks for your comment. SUICA brand is owned by JR. So no subway station sells SUICA. What subway stations have is PASMO.
      Anyway, you are able to buy named SUICA at every JR station, but NARITA nor HANEDA.

      I bought my Suica card at the Ueno Station near the JR Service Station. It was available on those dark coloured vending machines.

    Is suica card now available on jr east service center Narita airport? I need the card with longest periode useable with identity to avoid fund Will be stolen

      Unfortunately, what you can get at Narita airport is Welcome Suica. If you visit the central Tokyo, I recommend to buy a paper ticket at the airport, and buy a SUICA at JR station in Tokyo.

    Great informative video, i have a question. Im heading to Japan on November 2nd. Im arriving at Haneda airport around 11pm. Im afraid the vending machines would be closed for purchasing the welcome Suica cards. So is my next best option to buy a suica card from a JR station ? Im also going to be living near JR Kamata Station for the whole duration of my stay, would the station have the dark border vending machines for me to purchase a registered Suica card. I appreciate if you could help.

      Hi, the last monorail from Haneda to Hamamatsucho is 12:04. So the vending machines should work until 12:04. At Kamata, you can find the black framed machines, since it is a station big enough.
      By the way, if you go Kamata, Keikyu line is better choice, since you do not need to change train. The Keikyu station and JR station is not close, so I recommend to check which line is close to your hotel.

    Hi! Is the welcome suica also available in narita airport?

    • @ExploreJapanWithLila
      @ExploreJapanWithLila  4 месяца назад +1

      Hi! Yes, it’s available. You can buy one either from a vending machine or at the JR Travel Center. Both places offer the same Welcome SUICA, so just go to whichever line is shorter.

    do they have it at haneda airport terminal 2?

    • @ExploreJapanWithLila
      @ExploreJapanWithLila  4 месяца назад

      At Haneda Airport terminal 2, it is dedicated to domestic airlines. So they do not handle WELCOME SUICA nor Standard Suica. But Keikyu line at terminal2 handles Standard PASMO at their counter.

    Heard ICOCA card is going to inactive in year 2025...

    • @ExploreJapanWithLila
      @ExploreJapanWithLila  2 месяца назад

      Don't worry! They are suspending sales of the "SMART ICOCA," a rechargeable ICOCA card linked to a credit card. The reason is that not many new users are buying this card, as the smartphone version of ICOCA has become widely accepted. However, the regular ICOCA will still be available.

    Thanks for explaining everything. It's very helpful. Please is Suica, Welcome Suica or PASMO also available at Haneda Terminal 2?

    • @ExploreJapanWithLila
      @ExploreJapanWithLila  3 месяца назад +1

      Thank you watching the video. Terminal 2 is domestic, so welcome Suica is not available. Suica and PASMO would be the choice.

    so the normal suica cards are avaliable, i heard i can get one in narita airport? is that right? i will be arriving there and wanted the normal instead of the welcome

    • @ExploreJapanWithLila
      @ExploreJapanWithLila  4 месяца назад +2

      Unfortunately, you can NOT get a standard SUICA at Narita. Before September 1st, JR Travel Service counter had stock, but not for now.
      So if you need one, at Narita, buy a paper ticket, and get into central Tokyo. Then you can buy a standard SUICA at any JR station.

      @@ExploreJapanWithLila i think i will do that.. or if my group has time maybe a welcome one

    • @ExploreJapanWithLila
      @ExploreJapanWithLila  4 месяца назад +2

      PASMO and SUICA, the function is totally same. If your group is OK with PASMO, you are able to buy a standard PASMO at Keisei travel service center at NARITA.

    Hello, I tried linking my non-Japanese issued credit card in Apple wallet to get digital suica but it does not work. Does only Japanese issued credit card be used to setup a digital suica?
