What a great review. You nailed it, David! I‘ve build Even Longer with image quality being the top priority. All I do is driven by an enthusiastic photographers perspective. Stay tuned for the next long exposure feature unique to Even Long, not even available on any other camera around.

What an phenomenal start to Slow Shutter Month! I'm still surprised by the results I get with Even Longer. Watch in 4K to really appreciate the textures and details in the photos!
I noticed the bloopers at the end of the video, thanks for going the extra mile for perfection dude. I recently started making videos, and doing multiple takes drives me crazy.

Hi David and Hi Mario, in another review David mentioned this App and I bought it instantly, as well as I bought almost every app, David reviewed. :-)) The app is still without any tutorial or handout and so I was waiting for your review for some backround. @ Mario, you create a brilliant masterpiece, respect👏. Please give us some more informationon on your website, I saw, it‘s still under construction. Hi Daniel, thanks for your kind words. It looks like people really fall in love not only with app but also with the results they can produce with it so easy. I hope to be able to provide some content on my website once the first wave of customers buying Even Longer is over. The now daily growing user base uncovers some bugs (mostly minor ones) to be fixed immediately. This needs all my energy at the moment. I‘ve got a day-job too, photography and app development are just my side businesses. Yet. Regarding the 12 Pro Max you are right. It is just the text. I‘ll fix it with one of the next updates. Cheers, Mario
Amazing ~ it's something I occasionally shoot on my camera, this now I think enables me to do when I don't have my camera.... just trying to find your follow on video...
Aghhh have had this app for a whiles and was waiting for one of your awesome ‘how to videos’ - all you have done is wet my appetite even more - when is the guide coming out ???!!
You know it’s a good video when Big Mike doesn’t understand a word David says! Top notch bro. Mario has done the long exposure game good with this one and you know if Dave likes it it’s a good app 👍
Thanks Glen! I reviewed Spectre back in December 2019 and didn't like it, unfortunately. Even Longer is much more what I want from a slow shutter app 😊
There is actually very little overlap in what Spectre and Even Longer can do. It is only the range of 3-9 seconds. Spectre has the benefit of AI based image alignment, which allows for handheld shots, kind of.
Spectre is very disappointing app. Even on my iPhone 12 Pro the results are truly awful. This Even Longer app looks very interesting. I’m just not sure what the differences between paying for the app and using like that compared to what extra signing up for the pro subscription provides. Would like a comparison list. Is the subscription to add the capability to shoot RAW only?
What is confusing is the pricing for the Pro features. The app store shows PRO membership for 18.99 Euros. Does this mean that this is a one-time payment for the pro features instead of the monthly/yearly subscription?
David good video but I have a iPhone 14 pro. Will this use the 48mg raw images it can produce? One of the photographers I follow showed using this without nd cards which is what I have to use to shoot long exposures now. How does even longer not use them?
I was directed to your site watching Shayne's video...very cool app! I was disappointed in Apple's attempt, and am buying this today! Any idea on battery usage? Thanks...
Yeah it's one of my new favourites and it's so efficient I haven't experienced significant battery drain even while listening to the radio during capture (a must when capturing for 10 minutes!) and on 5G.
I wonder if Mario could develop a “Milky Way Stacker” type App for the iPhone using a similar method which reduces noise in his “Even Longer” App. Like the PC software called DeepSkyStacker? Damn, that would be amazing! 🤤👍🏼
Apple Watch remote is on my agenda, but not with the highest priority. There is a self-timer to safely start the exposure and touching the screen to manually end the exposure has literally no effect on the final result, as it may only affect the last frame of the sequence, which contributes less than 1% in most situation. However, I know the feeling of needing a remote;-) Actually back in the days of my first prototypes I already had a small Apple Watch companion app with just the shutter release button in it.
Something that didn't make the video: During a 10 minute exposure a dog came along and knocked the tripod so I stopped the capture thinking it was ruined but the frame was still sharp. Either way, I had hotdogs for dinner 😂
I finally got around to trying out the Even Longer base version app with jpeg only. I used an iPhone 12 Pro Max to take 15 sec. and 60 sec. exposures of an ocean scene with rocks in the foreground. The focus of the rocks was noticeably softer than a single shot taken with the Apple camera app. I took several different compositions with the same results. Are other people seeing the same thing? I plan on getting the Pro version with raw once I'm satisfied that I like the app. Can anyone comment if I should see an improvement in image sharpness with the Pro version?
Hi Dennis, I've noticed Even Longer can sometimes mis-focus when you place elements in the foreground and it sounds like you're experiencing that. Try focusing manually.
great videos I've been watching all your videos awesome learning stuff here I've recently just got my iphone 13pro upgrading from a version 6 lol love the phone but when using a app like ProTake which I love btw why is it even when in full manual mode in video if I point the camera at a bright subject the picture will seen to get brighter and then pointed at a dark scene the picture gets darker its acting as if its in auto mode but doing the opposite makes no sense so when i use a nd filter i have to go full dark to be able to use 48 degree shutter I feel like the phone is fighting me thank you
Random response: I've always thought Likes and Dislikes were too vague. Clicking either should bring up a questionnaire that asks things like, "Why did you dislike this video? 1) It wasn't what you expected 2) The title or thumbnail were misleading 3) etc... So much more useful.

Really like your review 🙏 Could be nice to see a night mode review with this app and also if it's good on ultra wide for the 11 Pro ? Also could you please let us know which tripod do you use in your video ? I am currently looking to get one, thanks and keep going +++
Currently there is no special night mode. I did not find any benefits compared to results you get with Even Longer and real RAW. The ultra-wide is supported, but only for JPG and TIFF. Works good for longer exposures. With the ultra-wide there is already a lot of post-processing done by Apple before the files become available to Even Longer. This slows down the frame rate considerably.
I've purchased it and the 1X works well for me but however, I notice there is no manual focus option for the 0.5X ultra wide-angle which makes most of my photographs misfocus... Is everyone experiencing the same thing?
Excellent review of what looks like a great iPhone app! When I go to the Apple app store I can only buy the $4.99 version. I live in the US if that makes any difference. I would like to get the Lifetime Pro app if I can find out how to get it. Does anyone know if the Lifetime purchase comes with future updates?
Why does this app cost money, if you still have to subscribe to get the basic features that is the selling point for this app? I don’t understand how that is a great model for users, it only seems to benefit the app developers.
@@David_Addison the quality of your videos are top level man. I genuinely look forward to every single one of your reviews. I love phone camera apps and you’ve cornered the review market in my opinion.

Sorry but I have to give a 1 star. I bought this based on your your review and paid for a lifetime licence to support the developer. The app is just useless. It does not save the pictures in my camera roll most of the time. Sometimes it does but I never know when. I have wasted hours trying to get it to work They got to do something about it. Sometimes it takes multiple single pictures, about 20 on a 4 second shot. These are saved in the camerta roll.
