Great to have you back, I have been watching Instagram for a while waiting for this video to drop and am so glad it has. I have use a tone of apps and can not wait to see what I can do with this app. I have been using a lot of different apps but this one is looking to be the best as I have never shot a raw long exposure before so we will see.

Great video, David! One remark about the results: For clouds I totally agree there's now difference at all with the same total time. But check the smoothness of the water. Because ReeXpose has a much slower frame rate than Even Longer you need twice the time to achieve the same water motion smoothness.

now this application opens up a whole new world, I stuck an Infra-red filter behind the phone and set the mode to Star-trail to lock the focus and then take really fantastic surreal IR pictures with an iPhone 13 Pro.

Great video and thank you. I just started using ReeXpose and had some questions. Taking an indoor photo in the evening, the widest angle seemed to have a different cast to the White Balance then the other modes. I didn't like the color in any of the selections and I tried changing the WB. I needed to edit them in LightRoom. Will I always need to edit these Raw files and what can I do about WB? Thank you!

Pro tip for anyone reading this be sure to go into the settings and turn on backup so that when you shoot it saves it to both your photos app and files app in case it does not save to your photos app

In another video you explain that the long exposure in Moment app is created mixing several images (not with real long shutter speed). Reexpose and other similar apps also use that technique?
Hi David, I have just come across your videos, which are great for an old man like me (83). I understand that you are stepping down from producing these videos. If you do, I will haunt you! But seriously, can you come back now and again, when you believe something really interesting and important is happening, all your followers would love it.
Imo even longer is bad because of subs/pricing.

I use slow shutter a lot and specter here and there... But having something to capture raw is so necessary.

Sad that it is impossible to change the aspect ration to 16:9 on the app. Otherwise it would be a wonderful panoramic shot. Maybe Reeflex will change that by update in the future. Thanks for your content!
When shooting in RAW you have to use the native aspect ratio of 4:3.
16:9 is always just a crop of 4:3 native anyway.
I hope you do come back for iPhone 14 Series.
So is it SS (shutter speed) or capture time that is controlling the length of your exposure? Your shutter speed is set at 1 second but it’s taking a 10 second exposure.
Can you use it handheld too? I want raw files

Hi David, Thanks for making these videos. I have been using ReeXpose for a few weeks now based on your recommendation but I have questions... and if you know the answers this could make an interesting video topic. I come from the days of film so the difference between how film works and phones work is throwing me off.
- what does shutter speed actually do when you are setting time as a separate setting? (it use to be that shutter speed was time)
- what is the actual difference in capture between motion blur and light trails?
- do DSLR or say a Canon G series cameras capture in the same way as phones or are they more like film?
- should I be using shutter speed as my main exposure control?

Thanks for watching, Chris. I think a tutorial is necessary! For now though:
- shutter speed refers to the traditional shutter speed you're used to (1/10 etc...), this is the speed in which each frame is captured. Capture time (2 mins etc..) refers to how long those frames will be captured
- Motion blur is used for daytime subjects like clouds, flowing water etc, light trails is used for light trails at night only
- Not sure what you mean with the Q about DSLR
- Yes, set your ISO as low as possible and use SS
I'll demonstrate all this in my tutorial video. I've been meaning to make for well over a 1 1/2 now!

I assume that they just capture like... a 10 second shutter will be a constant 10 sec exposure instead of 10x - 1 second captures stacked like the phone would do... does that make sense? anyway, thanks again.

Does it have spot metering
Even longer vs Reeflex vs ReeXpose? ReeXpose features can be shot with Reeflex right?
Reeflex can only capture long exposure in Heif / Jpeg but not in RAW.
Will this work with 48mp?
No, you can only capture in 48mp when shooting in ProRAW. And there is no app which can shoot long exposure in ProRAW and it probably wouldn't make sense. Until Apple releases their API, we cannot capture 48mp (bayer) RAW images.
